Mich - what a great Dad! Warming the Savlon up on the radiator too sweet! Bless! Hope your Dad's feeling ok soon

It's flamin freezing here too, but probably not quite as cold over the t'other side of pond. Glad of my heated grips this morning

I was extremely good and restrained last night and went to bed hungry. I don't like doing that, but I knew I'd had enough food and I wasn't hungry enough to keep me awake, so it's all good!

Got gym today - leggy legs and some HIIT running. Then kickboxing tonight

I'm alive (yay!) I've been for a swim (yay!) I'm in work (boo hiss) with the contents of a small pharmacy in my bag.

I'm making sure I cough enough to make it obvious that it was a genuine illness...

So ridiculously freezing, last night I wore flannel pants, socks, a t-shirt, long sleeve t-shirt and sweatshirt to bed. Then I had a 2 down comforters on me, I slept with my head and the foot end of the bed because the head end of the bed is closer to the windows. I honestly thought about sleeping on the kitchen floor because thats the warmest room. At least it only gets like this a couple of nights a year. Obviously we need new windows here but it's hugely expensive and the whole building would have to agree to do it so most likely that will not happen any time soon.

Helen glad you are feeling better, I'm coughing a little but overall I feel ok. After I peeled off all of my layers to shower today the scale gave me a nice surpirse hopefully it's real and not a fake loss.

I miss running outside, it's been a week but it's way too cold. I'm going to try and befriend the treadmill again, my plan is to try and do some speed and hill work.

Have a great day all.

I'm alive too! Just back from Docs to confirm it!

HOwever. Of course there is always an however. I have to watch my diet (no S**t Sherlock! Watch the fats and (sob!) no spice! Damn!. NOt a happy peacock - spice is nice!! But not to an enlarged fatty liver. Well at least I do not have Hep C! I cannot believe the Doc thought I should have that test!!!

I am sore today after yesterdays lifting, I like being sore though it reminds me that I have worked myself.

I also swam today for 40 minutes, then went in the whirlpool. I've decided that the next house I have has to have a whirlpool tub, they are great. I did great with the swimming considering I haven't swam in oh about 5 years, I managed 36 laps in 40 minutes. The bathing suit didn't look half bad either (went and bought myself a low cut leg speedo) and I must say, my butt looks like it's getting smaller.

RSG - it is freezing here in TN too, although we're predicted warmer weather for the weekend. I'm ready for it, I'm tired of ice and cold and itchy dry skin .

Peacock - glad that your doctor's visit went well and no hep c.

I'm definitely feeling better. I'm planning to run home from work and I've been entering races Frus, I've entered the Capital 10k now, so I might be trying to scrounge some floor. I'm not sure about race for life (reasons explained on the other thread) and I might enter the Run for All 10k later too. That's my summer taken care of then

I'm also in a good mood, I've found somewhere that sells licorice root so I am intending to spend the afternoon chewing on a twig. I used to love this stuff when I was a kid.

OOh I used to love licorice sticks but apparently licorice is not good for people with high BP for some reason - or maybe it is just the sweet stuff I dunno.

Bits - oh no - that is terrible, especially if you are normally a careful driver.

Frus/rsg - it's freezing here in Yorkshire too - I have my big furry slipper boots on - much to hubby's amusement!

I am just going for a walk and getting wrapped up in scarf. gloves etc. I am so glad it isn't slippy.

I'm happy, I ran and it was OK. It was cold, but I managed to do it without losing the ability to breathe (quite important!). I don't think it will be a late night tonight, I'm looking forward to hiding from the cold under the duvet!

Frus - is pizza or ice cream the preferred currency for payment

(By the way, does anyone find it slightly concerning that I'm considering running 2 10k races on the same day? I want to do them both, and there's enough time between them to manage it. Neither of them are PB courses so I figure I could take them both easy and enjoy the atmosphere...)

Helen 2 on the same day is crazy, but you can do it!!!

Ok, I had great intentions today, oh I was going to the gym, doing speedworkd blah blah blah....what did I do????

I got out of school and 2 guys I work with said "lets go to the bar" they had a meeting so they had to hang around for a couple of hours....so off I went. 4 pints later I'm on the couch. I haven't drank in a couple of weeks and I guess I was in the mood. We had a lot of fun, I just came home and had some egg beaters and boca sausage and I'm about to watch a movie. I guess no gym for me

Oh well boot camp tomorrow night, hopefully that will make up for it.

RSG - sometimes we need a rest!

Helen - you can completely do to 10Ks in the same day - it'll be a cinch! Oh and I think pizza is prefered at the moment

I have a 10k on Saturday, which is slightly annoying since I want to get on and practise for my next Brown Belt but never mind! It'll be good for me, if it's not SNOWING!

Had quite a good kickboxing class last night considering I wrecked my leggies at the gym at lunch. Fought with a HYUGE man last night - at least 6'5" and probably about 20 stone! It was fun though!

How gutted am I? I tipped my yoghurt over the bin to drain off the juicy bits and the whole lot plopped in! I just had to eat my nuts and cranberries instead! At least I'll have some spare calories for while I'm at the cinema watching ROCKY!

Ooooh and also, John Lewis have just rung and they've reserved me a green ipod shuffle New running music here I come!
