You don't wanna grow veggies anyway, what would you do with them? Certainly not eat them! Maybe throw them at the Red Team? Hmmm, not a bad idea after all!

I've often wondered the same thing. Wonder how much faster could they find the evidence with a 100 watt light bulb?

Chiming in on the grocery shopping... get the sales ads, if you don't get a paper, they are usually available online. If he's a big meat eater, and it can fit into your plan, look to see what the cheapest lean meat is. For example, boneless, skinless chicken breasts are 1.79/pound at Albertsons this week. I'll be using a lot of chicken this week, stretched with a ton of fresh veggies.

To me, menu planning is key. I look at what is on sale, look thru my recipes, read some aloud to DH, if we agree that the recipe sounds good it goes on the list, and then I create my shopping list. DH likes a lot of variety in our dinners, so I am always trying new recipes, but I try to stick to recipes that don't call for exotic ingredients.

I agree with the advice on the bagged salad that someone gave. I buy the heads of romaine in a package of 3, for 2.50. Bagged, for half the amount is 3.60. Takes me 4 minutes to tear up the heads, and I've noticed that it seems fresher, probably cause it a more local product.

I point that out during every crime scene! And my pet TV peeve this week is with CSI Miami. They solved a case this week (or last, it might have been tivod) with the front license plate on a car registered in FL. We don't use license plates on the front of our cars in this state. I griped about that the entire show. DH probably thought I needed to be medicated.

Screw how he looks. Get AT LEAST 500K in term life insurance on him for a 30 year period. At least you can still send the kids to college and keep your house when the inevitable happens. At his age, it would be relatively cheap and totally worth the $30 a month or whatever it is.

And then tell him that you took out extra insurance on him...that's what I did. I told DH if he wasn't going to take care of himself, then I was going to make sure that I had enough money to support myself and a boytoy when he died at 40 of a heart attack!

That would really depend on your goal.

True. I was trying to motivate DH off the couch and into the gym. He eats fairly healthy, but he doesn't get any regular exercise. Hmm. Maybe I'm going about this wrong. Perhaps I should start fixing him more artery clogging meals? Cut to the chase so to speak and cash that policy in sooner than later?

Edited to add: Just so you all don't think I'm too mean, I had already tried the sweet and nice motivating. Didn't work. I'd just had enough on day of listening to him whine about his weight and health. You can't do it all for someone, they have to be willing to help themselves.

One of my favorite lines ever from TV is from Ros on Frazier. This is not exact, but:

I hope that when I die in my sleep at 90, my boyfriend is so distraught that he has to take a semester off from college.

If I could be anything:

I would have a shelter for women who were forced sex slaves in India, Romania and Haiti. The organization would either buy the women's freedom or execute armed raids to secure their release to us. We would provide medical and psych counseling. When they were ready, we would help them find any children they may have left behind. We would teach them a trade or make micro loans to start businesses. If they felt they could not ever return to society because they could not recover, we would let them stay. They were mentor others (if they could), and work for us.

As I side business, I would have a squad of goons whose only job was to blow the balls of the human traffickers.
