Jennifer, that man is not the ice cream man....he's the devil in disguise! Stay away from him....very very far away!
Thanks Rhonda! He plays a fun little tune that makes you think . . . you know you want some. It's been so long since I lived in a "neighborhood" that I have forgotten the evil temptation of the ice cream man!
OMG Someone tell me I don't need to walk outside and get an ice cream cone from the ice cream man that comes and sits outside my office building on Fridays!!!! He has it in for me I swear, he literally sits right outside my window!
You don't want that ice cream. I just saw some little kids stick their germy, dirt covered hands into that ice cream. And Rhonda's right. He's not really an ice cream man

Ewww wow that was a good one Faerie! Let me tell you coming from a former preschool teacher, kids and germs are a good way to keep me out of something!
Thanks guys it worked! I was so busy asking you guys to stop me and catching up on posts that he drove away! Take that ice cream man! You are no match for the BLUE TEAM!!!
My people don't eat it, so I use two eggs, one chopped kosher dill spear, 1/8 of an onion (diced), one stalk celery (diced) and 1 tbsp mayo, salt, pepper and a squirt of mustard. That makes 1.5 sandwiches for me.
Obviously, I don't eat them all at once.
Homemade pizza tonight!
And Miss Nori, where have you been? I was going to shout out at 5 if you had not appeared.
That seriously sounds delish. 2 slices whole grain bread with some lettuce. K, I am getting HUNGRY now! Thanks for the recipe!
I usa Nasoya brand Nayonnaise--waaaay fewer calories than regular mayo and, IMO, tastes better than fat free regular mayo. It's soy-based. It also comes in a dijon style, which is also good to mix into egg salad.
I do have a tough time staying OP on weekends. For starters, I don't drink nearly enough water most weekends - on weekdays I've gotten into the habit of filling my glass at the water cooler regularly, but when I'm at home I forget. Also, at work my meals are pretty habit-based. On weekends its not uncommon for me to "forget" to eat until the low blood sugar monster rears its ugly head and makes bad choices for me. Then this weekend, I have an agility trial with my dog, so I'll be spending the whole day Sat and Sun at the trial grounds, eating between runs, and mostly sitting on my butt watching other dogs. How on earth do I track that kind of activity? The food at least I can track by counting everything in my cooler in the am minus everything left in there at night. Assuming that I don't share.
Dora - I think it is fabulous that you did your own house plans!!!! I love my house, and am in the middle of like 27 home improvement projects, which is making it really hard for me to think about moving... Do they have slot machines in OR? How did I never know this? Uh oh.

It's probably really sad that I think this way... but I'm gonna say it anyway cause thats just me being me...
When I hear the ice cream man coming, I think about all the little kids and people that have been / potentially could be kidnapped by the ice cream man's pervertedness because no one was paying any attention.
I just wanted to check in (i'm getting ready for work... really. i am.) and let everyone know that i DID IT!!!
I did week 3, day one of c25k with the 3 minute runs without stopping ONCE!
..and it's wet and kind of rainy and cold out this am and i almost didn't go but i made myself (if the cat doesn't want to go out why should i? lol) and i'm so glad i did. I always feel so much better and more up after exercising, and doing something i didn't think i could do makes it so much better..
Woohoo! Way to go! Getting out to run in the rain is something I REALLY struggle with, so I am super impressed! Yay!
She just talked and walked and talked and walked. By the time I got home, I'd been out walking (and listening) for an hour and 15 minutes So I got more walking in than I would have, and she got a walking companion for the evening. I guess it was a win-win
I REALLY loved reading this post Jill. You are such an awesome inspiring person!!!
Hi everyone. I should have popped in here before I ordered lunch today, like Jennifer did w/ the ice cream To top it off, I ate way, way too much of it. Now I feel icky....can't change that decision, however I WILL go to the gym--I need to renew my membership (kinda funny that I will renew it today of all days). I will also make sure I drink LOTS of water tonight and for the rest of the weekend. I also have a nice healthy salad planned for dinner. I have some errands, some stuff to do at home, and I will relax. Actually, I am going to make lots of ME time this weekend. Work has been extra hectic lately and I have been really feeling it. I need to make time for myself to re-charge!
QOTD: YES!!!! Weekends are hard, especially if my dh is off from work. I love having him home, don't get me wrong, but when he is working I have my routine of getting my workouts in, cooking 'normal' meals, etc., but when he is off too our "schedule" kind-of goes out the window. I am not blaming him, it's just I tend to stick to more of my schedule when he is at work. If that makes any sense.
I am SO tired today. We let our dogs sleep w/ us last night (usually they sleep in crates downstairs) and it was SO much fun, just NOT very smart do to on a 'work' night.
It's probably really sad that I think this way... but I'm gonna say it anyway cause thats just me being me...

That's enough to make me stay far far away...
That's what I was thinking! We had a incident last summer down here where the guy driving the ice cream truck was molesting young girls.
BTW - The deep south is so bizarre. There ae several BBQ trucks in this area. Same prinicipal as the ice cream truck, but they sell BBQ throughout the neighborhoods. Weird. I can't help but think that it's a health violation waiting to happen.
Anna - Those are some good strategies. I'm definately tackling this issue before the company picnic.

Mmmmm, I use that too since I'm vegan. Good product.
OK, I think I'm caught up now! (Seriously I totally missed out on the cheerleader wars thing - I have a hard enough time keeping up with our chat!)
Today was my last day of class this semester, and I'm kinda sad about it. See, I went back to school this year for one class each semester so that I could fill in some education gaps (calculus) before I enroll in my PhD program next fall. And I really got to know and like my classmates, who are all traditional students, and will be going to their respective homes next week, and won't be back until after I've moved to OR I'm gonna miss them. I'll try to stay in touch by email, etc., but it won't be the same and that is making me sad.
On a brighter note - can I just say how much I LOVE this challenge? It has been just what I needed to get back to being more fully involved in my diet and exercise plan. The scale seems to be heading back in the right direction, and I've journalled and stayed OP for 3 days straight Blue team rocks!

Tonight is dinner and a movie night so he announced we are going out to Red Robin and going to see Iron Man afterwards...
Newlyweds.....We are going to eat pizza as fast as we can, wash kids (who gratefully are not too dirty today), everyone jump in the truck. he is going to drop me at Trader Joe's while he gets the oil changed in the truck, pick me up and back home (hopefully with sleeping kids).
