takingcontrolthanks we will do it!!

as for me, it's supposed to be W1D3 but sadly, i can't run. i usually take a "no excuses" attitude, but this is a bit different. i have HUGE blisters on the balls of my feet (yes...who gets those? seriously!!!) and can't run today. i'm hoping they heal real quick because i have to walk all day long for work and i'm struggling to get anywhere. this blows. any advice on how to heal blisters suer quickly???
i'm afraid to pop them since they are on the balls of my feet, i feel that since they'll be in shoes and socks all day long i run a huge risk of infection.

Get yourself a blister kit (I like Spenco's, try a running store, Fleet Feet, EMS, REI, etc) and use it, amyleigh.

I find that the band-aid brand blister bandages from the drugstore do not work, FWIW.

This was from my run on Saturday Week 1 Day 2. I got this gizmo for when I was starting to walk and bike a lot. Now it will be useful for running!

I'll be curious to see how times and and everything compares as I progress.

So I went ahead and did W5D3 today! I did that dreaded 20 minute run! During the first ten minutes of running I thought I wasn't going to make it, but then I got to 11 minutes...then 12 and so on. And that's when it clicked in my head that I could do this! Everyone keep pushing!

completed w2d1 this morning, so pround of myself. My heart had to push a little this workout, heart rare was a bit higher for the run period compared to week one....but the good thing is that I still recovered well during the walk periods. I really love training with a heart monitor can't wait to update my old polar!

Ashori WHOOOP! Well done you! It was meant to be my big W5D3 morning today, but the weather is just too foul out there, and I didn't want that to be my barrier to completing it. I also ache like mad from yesterday's exercise, so think the weather was actually kind of on my side!

Depending on how I feel and how the weather is when I get home from work I might do it tonight, or maybe push it to tomorrow morning, we'll see!

Melissa that is well cool! I love all of the info you get out of it, I want a gizmo!!!

Amyleigh How're the blisters doing?

Saphiregirl WHoop! You're so nearly there, keep going!!!

Keep going guys!

Week 5 Day 3 in the bag!!!! Who'd have thought I could really jog for 20 minutes straight? Not me, that's for sure! It has given me hope that I might actually be able to jog the whole of my 5K on May 20th if I keep at it from here on in!

My run wasn't as ideal as I'd hoped. I put it off yesterday because the weather was foul, as was my mood, and I wanted e everything to be on my side.

THis morning the weather was still kind of bad, but dry, so I set off.... 3.5 mins in my jog I was getting warm, so I took off my jumper, but realised I'd stupidly put my phone holder on the outside of my sleeve, so tried to continue running and sort it out, but I couldn't. So, I had to stop long enough to re put my band back on. Reset my timer from the beginning, and set off again. I wanted to just estart from 16 minutes some, but knew I'd be disappointed having not done the full 20 without a stop.

It really wasn't that bad, despite horrible period pain that I thought was a stitch developing so was releaved when I realised it wasn't. Really had to work on my breathing on the hill section in the middle of the course I do, but once I'd got to the top it was plain sailing until the end

So so chuffed, thank you for all of your support!
