W5D2 done...and I killed it! The 20 minute run on D3 has been freaking me out for weeks. Since it's coming up, I decided to push myself today. I kept reading comments from people who completed D3 that said it was mental and my body was prepared. Well, today I ran through the walk break as well as through the beginning of the second run ....15 1/2 minutes straight!!!! I finished another 90 seconds to make sure I hit 16 minutes.

It felt great and my legs were just getting tired at the 15 minute mark. I don't know why I stopped. I was getting hot and knew that I needed to do the 20 on Tuesday so I thought I'd save the full push for then. It felt good and I can't believe that "I" ran for over 15 minutes without stopping....or passing out. The full D3 is on Tuesday. I feel like I can do it now....quitting is not an option

ASHORI...Congrats!!!

Well, I did it. The dreaded Week 5 Day 3. First try....AND I KILLED IT!!!! I felt strong and like I had a little more left in the tank at the 20 minute mark. I can't believe that on April 1st, I could barely do the 60-second run. I kept reading on different forums that Day 3 was a mental fight and it was.

I've been mentally prepping for 2 week for Day 3. I watched videos on YouTube of people who completed the last day. I read comments from this forum and others. I tried to visualize myself completing 20 minutes. I PRAYED AND PRAYED. I told myself quitting or walking was not an option and that my body was prepared for a 20 minute run. Well, I did it and it feels GREAT!!!!!!

I want to tell everyone I pass in the halls at work... Week 6 here I come. My 5k in June seems even more feasible now!

I just started the program and today I completed W1 D2. It seems easy now but reading some of the messages and knowing I will have to run 20 minutes straight is scary. I guess I will need to mentally prepare for it just like free1 said.

W7D3 complete Thanks Free1 and congrats to you too! Once you get past that mental block it doesn't seem so impossible any more. Good luck!

Looks like everyone is making progress and doing great! W6D1 is DONE!!!!! However, I ran through the walk breaks and ended up running 20 minutes straight again. D2 is the last day of intervals on the program. After that, it's all 20 minutes plus.

The run went well. However, the last 20 minute run I did on an indoor track. I did this one outside in the humidity at 5:45 a.m. It wasn't bad but I felt like the heat and humidity effected my breathing. I was okay until 16 minutes in. By then, my mind was tired and my legs were getting slightly sluggish. Interesting thing, I ended up behind two extra thin runners and we ran at about the same pace. I actually had to slow down so I wouldn't pass them (I didn't want them staring at me from behind....I'm working on the confidence thing.)

I had to tell myself today, I'm not as far as some but I am ahead of many. At least I got out there to try.

Here's to D2... Gearing up for the 25 minute run on D3.

No C25K today, but I did a ''free run'' (no lady telling me what to do!) and I was able to jog/walk for 51min and covered 3.08miles!!! I jog 4x 6,5,6 and 7min for a grand total of 24min!!!! WOWOWO And I was struggling with week 3?!?!?

I think the lady's voice is making nervous??? Maybe I'll switch for a man's voice next time...

I think I'll do an other free run on Monday and see when I'll go back to the program.

Good run to all!

Hi everyone! I participated in my very first 5K today, with my daughter. She is has been training at school with Girls on the Run for months, and she was required to have a running buddy sign up with her for the race. My husband was going to do it, but ended up having to do a boy scout thing with my son...so I was the only one who could go with her.

I ran some, walked a lot, mentally pushed myself along through the middle, and ended in a run with my little girl pulling me forward and feeling really proud of myself. I would like to be able to do it with more running, and with far more comfort...so that brings me to C25K! I will be starting this coming week and look forward to staying accountable here and learning from reading the experience of others further along in the program.

I am actually going to find a race in a few months and sign up...I need that motivation to keep going and push hard. Running does not come natural to me.
