I believe you are "required" to skip a day between C25K runs. I am using the "Get Running" Iphone app which builds in a skip day between each run and 2 days between the harder runs. If you try to run on a skip day it will prompt that you are supposed to rest today and ask you to confirm if you are going to run. At my current pace, April 8 is supposed to be the last day of the program for me. I am going on Vacation on April 6 and so I'm going to make a few of the "2 day breaks" into "1 day breaks" so I can finish by April 6.

Yesterday I started week 5. I was really wavering on whether I should do it or not. Week 4 was alternating 3 and 5 minute runs (2 of each) and I was having a hard time with the last 5 minute run each of the 3 times I did it. I thought starting week 5 was a guaranteed failure and actually considered starting over at Week 1 and re-doing the whole program from the start to work on building up endurance. My husband convinced me to give Week 5 a try - worst I could do was not finish but I'd still get a great workout. To my amazement, I was able to complete the entire Week 5 Run 1 without failure. Week 5 Run 1 is 3x 5 minute runs with 3 minutes of walking in between.

I will be doing W5R2 tomorrow which is 2x 8 minute runs.

Unlike some others here, I am doing this program to help me lose weight AND build up physical health. I am slowly losing weight. In my "off days" from C25k I ride my bicycle. Sometimes it is a short 1.5 mile ride around the neighborhood with my dogs in tow, and sometimes its a 3.5 mile ride to the park as fast as I can, and on the weekends its a 6-8 mile ride.

C25k + bike riding is right now my only forms of exercise. My goal is to exercise every single day even if its only 1.5 mile bike ride. More to get me into the habit of doing it. A 1.5 mile bike ride isn't going to add up to a huge amount, but its got to be better than sitting on the sofa and it gives me dogs some exercise as well.

Hi everybody! I'm new here but I'm not new to c25k... Today I'm on W6D2. I can't believe that 1 month ago I could hardly run one minute.

Good job Berry!

So this morning I woke up at 3am (I work at 5am). I used to go after work but it's been so nice out that the park has been packed full of people.. and I really can't handle running in front of anyone yet. jiggle jiggle huff huff.

After my first work out with c25k everything hurt, including my abs. A good kind of sore. But it hasn't happened quite as much since that first one which is making me wonder if I'm not pushing hard enough or if I'm just improving..? I mean it's not like it's easy by any means I just don't want to throw up anymore... hmm.

Littlebrownbike-- Do you like the get running iphone app? There's already a timer on the iphone so I don't really need the app but it seems like a cool way to keep track.. just not sure if it's worth it?..

Puneri --- The program was made for the creators mom. He said she is in her 50s. So it's actually made for someone your age

I really like app, I would not be able to do it using the timer, too many factors. I think its $2.99 or $1.99... I think there are cheaper or free apps as well, it was just the one I found first and liked... I like that it keeps track of the entire program so you see ALL runs for ALL 9 weeks and it tells you what date your last run would be on etc... I find that motivating too lol....

I finished W6D3 on Saturday too! Tonight is my first 20 minute run and the first night with no walking breaks. Just a 5 minute warm up, 20 minute run then 5 minute cool down. Yay!

I'm doing Week 5 Run 3 on Wednesday and its the first 20 minute run but I'm wondering if your program is slightly different or it was a typo...

My W5R1 is 3x 5 minutes run, W5R2 is 2x8 minutes run and W5R3 is 20 minutes run....

I think mine is a little different. It's different from the last time I did the C25K (before having a phone with apps, just had to time everything with a stopwatch). It's worked well, but I think it progressed a little slower through the middle weeks.

My 20 minutes went great tonight. I actually could have kept running for a little longer.

I have notice running (both this time and a few years ago when I was up to 4 miles a run), I struggle with the first 2-3 minutes every single time. I've tried stretching, walking to warm up (part of the C25K) and not doing either, yet for the first 2-3 minutes, my legs just feel like lead. Now after that brief period, I get into a groove and my legs loosen up and the rest of the run goes great, I just wish it didn't take so long every run to get into a groove. There is no pain or anything, just very stiff legs.
