Thanks for the encouragement TDIPrincess. As for your soreness, I always power through, but only through light soreness, not pain. Let us know what you decide.

I'm leaning toward calling it in for the day since I'm struggling to go downstairs LOL. I feel like such an old lady!! I think my thighs could use a rest. I may do some light walking with my vibrams, but I think I'll wait until Wednesday to start w4d1! By then I hope my body is good and ready!

Haven't posted on here much lately. Finished my 5K race 2 weeks ago and the day after came down with a cold. Pushed through it the following monday to do a 5K workout and injured my knee. Took the rest of the week off from running and went on vacation. Got back last night and tonight was my first attempt at another 3.1 mile workout.

I got a little over a mile in and the knee I had injured previously started to hurt again. So I quit immediately. It's really irritating. I made this great progress and now I'm stuck and very afraid I'll lose my conditioning. I know if I push myself I'll just end up injured again so I guess I just take it easy. Quit at the first sign of pain and try to keep my cardio conditioning up by idk, rowing or something.

Ingridh- Hope you had fun on your 5K!

Toonses- I also found every other day too much for me. I'm trying to find a balance between running too much and not running enough to keep up my conditioning.

Aka- Week 9! You are almost there!

Everyone else good luck and stick with it!

Well, I've done week 3 now about five times. Still don't feel ready to move up to week 4, there seems to be a huge gap.

And I can't believe that people have managed to get through it all. It seems so enormous.
Plus, I changed my running songs this morning. That was very fun, but today is a day off. So I'm not able to enjoy it until tomorrow. Maybe I'll feel up to trying week 4 then!

dirtybluebird- What's important is that you've been up and running long enough to have done week 3 five times. That right there is an awesome accomplishment! My favorite thing about the program is that I could try to move on to the next week, and even if I didn't push through the first day, I found the following workouts easier. Just make sure what's holding you back isn't mental. I always got very psyched out when a new week was supposed to start and was convinced I would do awful. When I finally shut up and tried it I amazed myself. Good luck! And remember that failing means you're trying!

dirtybluebird: Every body is different! The important thing is that you're taking the program at your pace. If we push our bodies too much, then we risk injuries! You are exercising some awesome patience and control that I wish I could have!
Cherrydeer: You will have fun in here and with this program!!

Today I completed w4d1. It was pretty brutal, but I did it! YAY!! I hope everyone is having a great day!
*I'm also happy because the last time I tried the program I made it to w3d3 and then stopped. I officially have made it where I have not gone before

Completed W4D1 today! (So that makes me right there with you tdiprincess!)

I've had to take a few days off since getting a cold on Monday But, luckily I'm mainly at the slightly runny nose stage now so I thought I would give it a try. Ha, beside, I was feeling a little stir crazy at my parents house for the holiday. I was definitively feeling it, both from the increase in the running time and still being a little under the weather. Still, made it through both 5 min runs, which feels amazing.

Well I did it! I finished my first organized 5k yesterday at 9:00 am in the rain. I ran with my brother and sister-in-law who took off in front of me and finished in 31 mins. I stuck with a slower crowd and was surprised when I finished in 35.10 mins. I had to run past strollers, water puddles, and even dogs. It was definitely tough because I was not familiar with the area, but I finished it.

Did W2D2 today.

Last time I quit the programme after W3D2, but this time I'm going to finish what I started.

okay...sooo I've kinda fallen off. I was at week 9, but the holiday seems to have gotten in the way, so I'm going to go back to week 8, and build up again.

aka8941, did you find it easier when you have mid semester exams earlier? Our university year is different here, and I've just finished end of year exams. I found that running through this period was really easy, as it was the only time when I didn't have to think about law. But now, it just seems like more of a challenge.

I'm officially finished w4, but again I think that I may try and stay on it for the another two days or so to take it up to being done five days. Thanks Thinsoles and tdiprincess for the encouragement!

The reason I am able to do a week 5 times is because I try to run every day (well, 5x a week). I'm (relatively!) young and have super active parents on one side who taught me the importance of long, comprehensive stretching everyday afterwards, and so haven't had injury or proper soreness yet. Touch wood! But, I figure this way I can actually spend a proper calendar week per c25k week, instead of doing it almost back to back like in weeks 1 and 2. I only started this thing 22 days ago, its amazing how time flies!

Cherriedeer and Kellstand, you'lll love it! Make sure you get some good music for your run. And run make sure the weather doesn't stop you. I found that running in the rain is my favourite thing.

Woohoo Toonses! 35 min is still really fast. I hope that you were grinning ear to ear once you finished it.

I think that I might try running around a different suburb tonight, or maybe catching a bus and running around the lake for something different.

Hurrah us! (yes, very self congratulatory, but still. Sometimes we deserve to be)

Also, found this online:

Thanks dirtybluebird. I was just happy to finish. I ran in the town of Chico, CA which is a college town. There were a lot of young people running and I passed quite a few and finished in the middle of the pack. That is what I am most proud of.
