  • I slowed myself down, and ran my last 30 minutes. I'm done. Graduated. Finished. I DID IT!!!!
  • Congrats Aka!! Way to go lady! That is awesome!
  • Toonses Congrats on finishing your first 5K!!

Giving myself a bit more time before re-starting running.
  • aka8941 congrats! That's so awesome

Did W4D2 today. I admit, it got hard at the end, but mostly because I'm still trying to shake this cold. Its been a week, and I felt decent most of the day, but not being able to easily take in that last little bit of oxygen for each breath was really noticeable. Well, if nothing else being sick has been a learning experience.
  • Aka8941 congratulations! It must feel wonderful to be on the other end of the 9 weeks! How is the Bridge 2 10K feel in comparison?

I just finished W3D1 yesterday , the farthest I've gone is W4 so I am feeling anxious about next week already!
  • DesertTabby-It does feel very good!! Completely and totally worth it. However, I do have one complaint. If I don't run now on a regular basis or I skip days, my back starts to hurt so so much.

The bridge is way more challenging than c25k. I tried one of the runs, and decided it wasn't for me, not until I lose more weight at least. My body is still too heavy to handle 40 minute runs.
So I'm doing the 10 week Ease to 10K program instead.
  • Completed week 2 today. Wii wii.
  • I had an Aha moment this morning at 5:00 am. I ran my slowest 5k (38.50 mins). I thought I was doing ok. It was very foggy and I had to keep taking off my glasses to wipe them, but I kept on running. At first I was very disappointed with my time, but you know what, I ran 3.1 miles this morning and completed it without stopping. It wasn't my greatest time, but I am getting a run in every 2 days and I am happy with that. If I can keep this up, without any injuries, I have accomplished so much in the past 12 weeks. For goodness sake, I can jog 3.1 miles! It is still hard to believe...
  • Toonses-THATTA GIRL!! It IS amazing, and don't you forget that.

    Ease 2 10K
    Week 1 Day 1 DONE!
  • Toonses: I totally agree! I've been thinking about how fast my stamina is increasing! Each week at the start I'm thinking that it's going to be too much and then I'm able to do it by the end of the week without struggling!

Today I completed w4d3!! Friday is onto week5. I'm pretty excited to get there! I've never made it further than week 3! YAY!!
  • Tdiprincess, I did w5d2 today and I think that it is actually much easier then week 4. The last couple of minutes of the last 5 are a bit painful, but at least you know that it will be done very soon.

And I very much admire your attitude, Toonses. You're actually up at 5 am. For a run. A 5km run. Which you can do without stopping. Each part of that independently is an achievement, but combined it is incredibly impressive.
  • Toonses- Dang straight! And don't you forget it! What you've done is amazing!

Aka- I have been struggling with finding a program to move onto from C25K and E210K seems like a good one. Good luck with the new program. There really needs to be a C25K and beyond thread.

dirtybluebird, tidiprincess, & Isabella- Keep going! You can do it!

I spent today giving a basement banished treadmill of a family member a loving makeover. Then ran my first workout of E210K on it. It's good to feel like I'm on a program again.
  • Thinsoles: Thanks for the cheer!!
Dirtybluebird: Thanks for the info and encouragement also!

Yesterday I completed w5d1.. I was a bit sore by the end, but nothing too bad. Today I felt 100% again. Monday will be d2, so we will see how it goes. I'm nervous about the idea of jogging 20mins straight! LOL.
It's amazing to see my stamina increasing!!
  • Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I have been out of the loop this past week since DH had surgery. I had to put my nurses hat on and take care of him this weekend. I was still able to slip out and get a run in on Saturday. It felt great to get out in the sun and to vent.

Tomorrow morning is my next scheduled run and it is going to be in the high 20's. I will need to put on some warmer clothing. I don't want to freeze mid-run.

It is so nice to see everyone progress. You are all doing a great job!
  • Toonses- I'm sorry to hear about hubby! I'm glad he's recovering though! Good job getting some jogging in nonetheless.

Today I completed w5d2! It was surprisingly easy! It's calming me down for Wednesday when I do the 20min run, since it felt like I could've kept going today.
    I hope everyone has a great day/evening!!
