Wow Ani, what a discovery! It really is important to look at the bigger picture isn't it. I think that people who have never had to fight this particular battle often fail to realise just how much of an emotional rollercoaster it is. I'm sure I speak for most of us here when I say that you are an inspiration to us all.

As for me, I weighed in this morning and am 200g down which makes my total weight loss so far exactly 5.5kg and I'm really proud of that. My goals for this week are to a) stick to my points and b) go to the gym at least 5 days, do 60 minutes cardio on my cardio only days and 40 minutes cardio as well as my weights on my weights days.

Keep on keeping on

Thank you everyone - it certainly is a challenge to face your own fears, and the barriers to losing weight.

I didn't lose anything this week, but I didn't really expect to. It's been a pretty strange week, with having a housemate and a different routine - but I'm going to focus and be stronger this coming week, and try to get a good result next Monday.

Julia I think you should be really proud of yourself - 5.5kg is fantastic .

OK - must go for my walk before I talk myself out of it. It's raining out there this morning, and toasty warm here in my office. But I MUST…

I gained a kilo. Doh. But it was that time of the month, so I'm not surprised. Might lose it again this week! At least I'm back into my training.

Thanks Ani. I am really proud of myself and it's a great feeling - one that I haven't had in a very long time.

Sorry about your gain Gen but as you say, being that time of the month these things happen. Good on you for getting back into your training, that will help HEAPS!

I hit the gym this morning and did another 20 minute run followed by a 20 min cycle and 20 minutes walking. Now I'm pooped and ready for the weekend.

I'm finding that I'm madly in love with weight watchers ice cream and I've been having a wee tub of that each night. It's a nice treat and fits into my programme so I'm enjoying that at the moment.

Payday today woohoo! Got to be very careful with my money this week as I'm getting a new tattoo on Saturday that is going to cost around $250.00 so no spending unnecessarily on anything else!

Keep up the hard work ladies

hey julia
what is the tattoo going to be of? I've been trying like mad to decide on one that would incorporate jemima's name really nice but i dont know where to get it as on my hip/belly would streach with next pregnancy and i already have one on hip/back and shoulder blade so i dont want to 'crowd' things back there..... still like being able to 'hide' my tatts so not sure what to do.
where are you getting it?? is it your 5kg reward?

i have not been on calorie king for days..... so i dont exactly know where i'm travelling this week. ... thursday may be a sad day...... oh well my own fault at least i'm not failing as bad as my neighbour who has a reason not to walk most days (i say most days coz ihave not been asking everyday) and yesterday at a time that was not lunch time i went over and she was chowing down on about 4 pieces of pizza! i was not tempted i was actually disgusted, i want to though be a friend and say to her that NOW is the time she should try and lose weight as she goes 'back to work' in 2 months although only part time she will then use busy at work as an excuse not to exercise when she home as she will be too tired and she wont have timeto eat right...... is that being a friend or a bit*ch?

jemima calling so i gotta go
hello everyone else

Me to gained a kilo Gen so you have a "budda buddy" this week in me. heehee. No insult intended as I'm sure you all know me well enough by now.

I ate so well all week on campus so I have no idea what happened. I made sure to eat a healthy brekky each morning, cept one day I had a B&E McMuffin. I got home so late that I only ate dinner and no snacks later in the night. Maybe it was because I was sitting on my derrier for the most part of the day and my body isn't used to that? But hey isn't driving supposed to burn calories????? I was driving 2 hours a day. (Hmm???)

Congrats Julia on your huge effort. Baby steps is the best way. Though mine at the moment are giant leaps backward.

I don't know what has come over me this weekend and yesterday. I have been back into the eating chips thing again. Grrr. I need a shake up and a wake up.

Talk soon

Mmmmm chips I am craving fatty food so bad! I was obsessed with McDonalds all last weekend ...... what I wouldn't give to be able to chow down on a quarter pounder and fries!

Anyhoo ...

The tattoo is going to be a bird, kind of made up but similar to a peacock, same sort of colours and stuff. It's going to be on my left foot and is a reward to myself for finally looking after myself. It's going to be a sore one - I have 2 small butterflies on the other foot but this one's pretty big and will take a couple of hours. Ouchie.

Will pop a couple of paracetamol before I go in.

I've been taking real good care of my feet and have put lovely pink polish on my toenails so that the tattooist doesn't think I have yucky feet!

Naaa I don't like maccas. After you eat the fries it's like you need a paint scraper to scrape the fat from the roof of yr mouth. (hehee did that put u off yr cravings?)

Julia it sounds like yr tatt will be beautiful. I have 3 one on my lower back (5hrs) one on my right shoulderblade and one on mu upper left arm. That one is able to be hidden by t-shirts for work purposes lol.

I wanted one on my upper foot, but was told by tatooist that they fade quicker due to more sun exposure. Is this true? Or maybe they just didn't like doing feet. lol.

My next one will be of garfield cause I think he is the ultimate in cool cats. The others are butterflies (one of celtic style) and the armband is 3 daisy style flowers and celtic style leaves/vine. I'll post a pic of one.

Good on you for choosing that for your reward. You either love em or hate em.

There ya go that pic on the left is my lower back tatt. Pic is a bit squashed up as I had to change it and I stuffed up lol. It stretches from one side to the other, and the "tail" of the pic goes just to the top of my butt crack for lack of a better word.

God, you're all tatt-monsters! My sister just got a massive one, I think it's horrific, takes up her whole lower arm below the elbow, on the inside. Can't tell her, but I'm sure she'll regret it. Oh well.

I would like to get one,. but for me, it really has to mean something. My friends sister got VANDAL done across her stomach. *sigh* I'm still a young-dumb teen, but even I know that was a bad idea...

Tee Hee! My sister has a half sleeve tattoo, I think it's really beautiful but our poor mum hates it with a passion. I love big ones but would probably never get anything myself that couldn't be easily hidden.

Couldn't drag myself out of bed early this morning so I'll go to the gym after work. Weights today and 40 minutes cardio.

I really need to get control of my eating. I'm sticking within my points allowance but every evening I'm munching on things like w/w ice cream, pinky bars, rice crackers etc. I know it's not all that bad, especially as I'm within my points but I'm sure my results could be better if I cut that out.

Amazing news flash: it's warm outside!!!! I think I'd actually forgotten what warmth feels like and it's really lifted my mood. Bring on summer!
