You probably won't like it C-D...too light for you...but for me it was good! Birra Moretti was the brand, my son, a dark beer drinker. thought it was too weak, Angie and my dil thought it was good too.

Well... the weekend had some good points and bad points, food-wise. I did pretty well on Friday (maybe a little over calories by 100-200, but still healthy food). Saturday wasn't so good, had about 3 beers and half of a hershey's bar, oops! Oh well, I had a good time =) Today went well. I did 2.5 miles running with c25k and stayed within range on calories. I weighed myself mid-day today and was down 0.3 more pounds, so hopefully that means things are going well!

The last 10 pounds is always the hardest to loose, because you are approaching your committed end goal

Way to go PAULA - first here I believe to reach the 5 pound mark - that's wonderful - keep up the good work!

Did pretty well Friday and Saturday, well Sunday too until after dinner, that's when DD brought chips into the living room (my weakness, always said if God hadn't made chips I'd be skinny ), but still at WI this morning I was down 1 pound for which I am thankful, now if that guy would just take a few of his friends with him!!!

Did 3 laps at the park on Friday (1.25 mile per lap), 3 again on Saturday, after doing the clean-up thing for 3 hours - mostly weeding and planting flowers, and then did 4 LAPS on Sunday, I was so pumped that I MADE IT and wasn't totally worn out!

EZ - you always seem to have the best meal ideas, and plenty of company (maybe that's a reflection of what's cookin' too??). My Bears, - oh well, there's always next year right? Will have to be watching for the Raider-ettes (is that what they're called?), not that we get many, if any, of their games here, being in Bengal territory.

Going to try to get another 4 laps in tonite before the HS baseball game and food-wise just trying to stay on track. Hope everyone has a great day. Remember, - just move! - Margie

My son is diabetic , I am sorry to tell you I reacted badly when he informed me of this diagnosis. I could only think of the possible complications of this disease. I begged him to take care of himself and he has done that , in spades. He watches his diet and exercises a lot. He wants to lose another 50 pounds. And his doctor has taken him off his diabetes medication .

Good morning!

I'm frustrated today, but I'm trying not to let it affect me. The scale keeps fluctuating up and down between the same pound; it's been almost a month now. Plateaus happen, I know, but the last one lasted a *year*, so I get scared. I've increased my cardio like crazy this past week, so I'm thinking if I don't lose anything soon I'm going to have to go see the doctor again. Not that they ever find anything wrong with me. Guess I'm just getting old!

Anyway, that pound I lost is back again, so I'm still at square one. I did 65 minutes of cardio at the gym this morning (stairmill and treadmill), though, and I'll stick to my eating plan today. I figure if I eat totally clean for a week and work out the way I've been doing and still don't lose anything, I will have to go see someone.

Congratulations to everyone who *is* doing well! Paula, way to go on coming in first! That's great.

Hi all, hope everyone had a great weekend. From what I've read, sounds like it is so.

thistoo -- have you tried intervals vs. the steady-state cardio? When I first started w/the TM (uhh, the second time I was losing this same weight ), I did steady state all the way, increasing my speed and time. I ended up being on the dang machine like nearly an hour and I just wasn't getting anywhere weight loss wise. I've been doing intervals (and still some steady state days) this time around and so far so good. In addition to speed intervals I also do 1 day/wk of incline intervals on the TM. Killer butt workout! Try this link for interval workouts. It may be just the shot to get the scale moving again. http://exercise.about.com/b/2005/04/...l-training.htm (thanks bluetoblue!)

I lost 1 lb (of my 5 lb challenge) as of this a.m. I was begining to think I was stuck but the begining of last wk I ate at the higher end of my zig-zag but Thurs, Fri and Sat I was btwn 1350-1450 each day. Sun. was a bit higher, as they usually are. I got in 3 excellent HIIT TM w/outs, 2 fast-walking 1.5 mile dog walks, 2 excellent u/body w/outs w/squats and lunges thrown in for good measure and lots and lots of yard/house work last wk. Guess I was hoping for more than a lb but thats just now how I flow I guess! Hey, does not drinking enough water affect how you lose wt.?

Because you are all just dying to know, yes the second yew is out. Hubby got the bulk of it and it took no time because of course the one he took out was 1/2 the size (rootball) of the one I took out!!! Murphy's Law at its peak!

I've already gotten in a fantastic 35 min. run on the TM and am out to clean up the garden of things blown in from elsewhere over the winter. Dog walk a bit later. Still aiming to hit my Mother's Day goal this Sun. Fingers crossed (and determination hat firmly in place!)

Counting Down and EZ, thanks for your words of encouragement. That really means a lot to me!

I got on the scale this morning and lost a pound. That means I have 5 lbs. to go before I get back to where I was a month ago. (Boy, that's depressing.) But seeing everyone else doing so well, gives me motivation to keep at it. I'm so proud and inspired by everyone! Great job!

Paula and bargoo, congrats on reaching your 5 lb. goal.

thistoo, Hang in there! I'm really impressed with your cardio. That scale will move downward!

Hat trick, thanks for sharing the info about interval cardio. I've got to try that, as I was doing the same thing on the TM and getting nowhere.
Let's all have a great week!
Hugs, Dena

EZ- you're gonna be hangin' with me for a while. It seems my scale is stuck on 150 and refusing to go lower than that. But, at least it is not rising, anyway. I've got 2.5 to go. I'm working the OP thing pretty well, not nec modelesque but I can honestly say I'm OP. -just preparing you.
