A little laughter today:

Nabeel...losing on vacation is awesome!

I'm doing the program by mail, so I weigh myself every morning. I think it's funny that every time I look at myself in the mirror and am expecting dissappointment, I get on the scale and have a big number drop. Almost a whole pound this morning! Just goes to show...what do I know!

Nabeel,

I was just wondering how your vacation went. I was also gone 2 weeks over the holidays and came back with a loss. Isn't it a wonderful feeling?!!! Welcome back and congratulations! Isn't it great when other notice even our small achievements. I think we tend to not notice since the small changes happen daily and we see ourselves in a different light. 37 lbs is an AWESOME achievement!!!

hi all, good to 'see' you again

yeh vacation was awesome, alots of family time, just what i needed. And my mom's cooking is just ... well you cant refuse it i resisted the first week, but then i gave in. And i i STILL lost, altho not as fast, but hey i will take anything

I did come back last week just before the 3rd storm and got stuck in it, with water damage in my home and no food almost ( thank god for the friendly neighbours in Nebraska).

But all's good, this is my year, i know it, i feel it. I hope all of you feel like this for yourself as well. We can undo what we have done to ourselves in the past and learn from it, to never do it in that extent again, and hey if along the way we can make some new habbits our own, i say power to us 'losers'!

For a split second as I was reading this, I could picture you saying this a nurse. Thanks for making me smile.

I've been watching for your return. Glad you had some great family time. Sorry to hear you came home to water damage though. Broken pipes I'm guessing. I was worried about ours here in Denver, but we escaped any catastrophes. Your new picture is very nice. It's good to have you back and you did a really good job while on vacation. Keep up the good work!

Hi! I am new to this site and I will be sigining up a MRC next Thursday. I am very excited to get started. I just wondered if anyone has tips on what supplements are a must have from MRC and what I can buy at other locations that are verry compareable.

Any information would be great!

Thanks,
Morgan

Welcome! You will find good support here. Supplements are a personal decision.

My personal opinion is that none of them are must-haves. Take a good multi-vitamin and a good oil (either fish or flax) of your choice, from the store of your choice.

One little piece of advice --- once you get your preconditioning menu, don't go out and buy your food from it, because many of those items are not what you will be eating on the regular menus (especially many of the fruits). Wait until you get your regular menu to do your shopping. Or if you do shop only get enough for your 3-5 days of preconditioning.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info Deb. So far I have only bought chicken and fish, but nothing else. From what everyone is telling me the drinks are the MUST HAVE to make this program work. Right?

Another pound gone....11 total! Today is day 10 of the blue menu. I'm so glad to be finishing it up. The salads in cold weather....blechhh!

I think the drinks are the key for not feeling hungry between meals and keeping your blood sugar on an even keel.

I also really like something sweet after dinner and having a hot pink lemonade supplement to sip on has made it easier to go without the sugar.

Sorry Morgan, I misunderstood.

When I was referring to supplements, I was referring to the pills.

The HNS (drinks, puddings, etc.) are something I take, although I buy them online much cheaper. I think they're important because they add the protein you need to balance the carbs and keep your body's metabolism working at a good rate. As I said in my earlier post --- these are just my personal opinions and experiences. Everyone has to make their own decision.

Keep in mind, the consultants make a commission on products they sell, so if you feel you are being pressured, take a step back, ask your personal physician and make your own decision. Some consultants are really good and apply no pressure at all, others pressure you all the time, imply that your weight loss would accelerate with more product, etc. If you find a consultant you like, ask for that one, you don't have to settle.

I'm not going to the center anymore, doing it on my own ... It's not quite as easy without the accountability, but it's doable!

Once again, congratulations for your decision to commit to your health!! If you do the program, it will work!!
