You both rock! The mental challenge is sometimes the worst! Phat, 21.5 pounds in 7 weeks! That is great! If you ever need a reminder, grab one of the bags of dogfood and lift it at the grocery store and see how much a 20 lb, or whatever is your current loss, feels like to lug around.
Funshine, 12 pounds in a month is nothing to sneeze at, that is 12 pounds gone forever! And you are right, the more one has to lose, the quicker it goes at first. I compare it to the use of toilet paper. When the roll is full, you use more sheets, however the closer it gets to the end, you tend to use less to conserve it. Especially if it is the last roll in the house and means a trip to the store!
So as you get closer to goal, the weight will come off more slowly. Sad but true!
Lori, I love the TP analogy! And thanks for the encouragement! You have no idea how much this support means!

Leah, it's probably best not to mention 3FC....they don't appreciate comparing notes with other members from other centers.

You and I joined at the same time, have you been measured yet? I am just curious to when they do that...some posters here seem to get measured monthly or so. I did ask, and was told the manager decides when each member should be measured....that doesn't sound right does it? With so many members at our location, how does she keep up on each one individually? Just curious. Sometimes just seeing the actual inches lost can really give you a boost.

For what it's worth, I just happened to have Robin at my WI a week ago Saturday and she indicated to me that I should be measured after each month OP (I think that was actually after my 5th week). She didn't give me the feeling that it was an individual thing...that everyone should be measured each month.

Oddly enough, I wasn't overly impressed with my results. I'd been led to believe at my consultation that normally, pounds lost equals inches lost (for example, 20 pounds/20 inches), but if I took MRC-6, I would see an increase...perhaps double...in inches lost. That wasn't the case with me at all. That particular day, I'd lost a total of 15 pounds, but had lost only 14.25 inches. (Marketing ploy?)

A co-worker is with MRC and had to ask them to measure her after 6 weeks. I have a feeling it all depends on which staff clinician you're working with on that particular day.

I'm not a lot of help, am I?? : D

Leahruthie, I am very surprised that no one in your center has mentioned different options. Three different counselors told to me to consider the Meta Balance before I actually switched. I would go in and say I am not losing weight, hungry, tired, no energy to complete my run etc…100% on program, 100+oz water etc…I didn’t go in and asked if I was exercising too much or should I reduce my running etc…I just said it was not working to where I felt good and could continue for the next three months. My first WI after switching programs I dropped 3 pounds in 4 days…my counselor was thrilled and said “Great the program is working for you now”! My only guess is to why some might not encourage switching is because with the Meta Balance only 3 HNS are consumed in a day, not the 5 a day I was drinking, and if I choose to have a bar for my snack then I only consume 2 HNS…this is a reduction in their sales, I now drink 2 HNS a day, not 5 and eat 1 bar…Just a thought. I know several other clients in the center I go to are on the Meta Balance, I can go back to the Meta Quick if I want to later. MRC does have a few other options to their plans, I overheard one client given a different plan for the carb sensitive, she was given this plan because the Meta Quick provided too much carbs for her body and she just could not get the weight off…she is now doing great…It does not hurt to go in and asked what other plan options to see if something else might work for your particular situation. I did mention to my counselor that I was happy that she was not discouraging me to stop running or reduce running, as I did tell her that I blog with other MRC clients (didn’t give 3FC away), and told her that other centers do encourage restrictions on exercise…she reinforced that the program must work with my lifestyle not the other way around for true success. Just a thought! I hope it works out for you either way. By the way today I had to run in doors on the treadmill because of constant rain and I burned 541 calories…it just hit me today that everyday I ran I was living off 400-500 calories, because I think on Meta Quick the daily calorie counts is between 900-1000, I was running half that off…my poor body!

Now isn't that interesting. Could it just be a way to sell MRC-6? Naw!!! Thanks for sharing that "pounds lost equals inches lost"....I had not heard that one. I guess I will have to ask then to be measured next WI. I really wanted to be yesterday. I will see if that works for me too, since I did not buy into any of their pills. HNS's are enough for me. I bought all the other necessities over the counter....saved a bunch.

Thanks for your encouragement, Lori!

I was just measured FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME yesterday, and I've been on the plan for 30 days as of today. The counselor said, "wow, you haven't gotten measured yet. We really dropped the ball." The counselor also asked how I was doing with the thermogenic and MRC-6. I told her that I wasn't sure either were really helping much (esp the thermogenic - it's supposed to boost metabolism and help with hunger), she just kinda of smiled and changed the subject.

Excersie is not limited because of the need to show big numbers on the scale. My counselors have educated me to understand my body and its needs to how I live and not how to fit in a certain program. I am like many and hit a plateau every 10 pounds and it is frustrating, however since I began running (which I love) back in April I have not only lost weight but my body is gaining shape and pulling together, no sagging of the girls and stomach, even though I am down 47 pounds. My discussions with my counselors are not how to reduce my exercise because the scale doesn't show big numbers every 3 or 4 days or that I am hungry all the time, but how to get the program to work for me. Just a week or so ago I had been struggling with losing and being hungry all the time and just not having the energy to run, I am only running 9-12 miles a week at a moderate to slow pace nothing to hit the record books. When I went in to discuss this with my counselor she immediately said the Meta Quick is not working for me and that I should consider moving to the Meta Balance menu because I was losing muscle weight along with fat...even though I had been running and doing other exercises for the last 5 months...I was pretty shocked, I thought all along I must be gaining muscle weight and that was why the scales were not moving...no...my body was in starvation mode...so I switched to the Meta Balance and I had an immediate result, 4 lbs down the first week. The Meta Balance is given to individuals who exercise and are struggling with Meta Quick and to diabetics; it keeps the body in a more balanced level all day. I do feel so much better and am able to continue my lifestyle while on the program which is working wonderful for me…the program is flexible enough to change as the client changes which is a huge plus for me…when I started I was not running and the Meta Quick worked very well, as I changed and became a runner the switch to Meta Balance is helping me continue on this journey without being hungry and not only losing the weight but gaining a healthy lifestyle that I will be able to continue as I hit maintenance, just my two cents! Thanks for letting me vent.
I am so glad they didn't discourage you from exercising. I guess that is the difference between centers! Of course I didn't push the issue. I am not into exercise so it was not that important to me. They just kept cautioning me so I told my trainer we had to modify the workouts. It is working well for now.

this definitely must be a difference between centers, then... how frustrating. it seems so counterintuitive to discourage exercise and i was kind of disheartened when that's what i was told. maybe i'll just have to gather up my nerve and ask about meta balance, eh? thanks for the info...

as for measurements, FL, i had a consultation with Robin by chance one saturday morning (on my third week) and she said i should be measured a week later (four weeks), and i did get measured the next week--20.5 inches!! pretty exciting. you should definitely push for measuring.

THanks for the info Leah....I will plan to get them taken on Wed. Good to know. I can't remember which counselor I asked who told me that it was up to Robin to decide.

Congrats on your inches lost...now your figures don't match the weight loss like the rule of thumb. Do you take MRC-6? Just curious because you almost doubled your loss.

Karen,

Thank you so much for the new recipe! It was fantastic and the 'crumbles' were the best too! How in teh world did you come up with that? What else do you have your recipe closet? I'd love to hear! I'd never be able to come up with something like that.

Hi all..
I've been measured 3 times since beginning at the end of July. (#1 at start, #2 I think it was 2 weeks into it, and then 30 days later). Second weigh in was 7 inches lost, and the last one was 31 inches. I quit taking MRC6 and cortitrim a month ago when I ran out. But, I'm only down 16.5 pounds, so that doesn't work with the pounds = inches theory...

i do, yes, but not very consistently (i'm really bad at remembering to take pills, so i bet i take 1/3 to 1/2 as many as i probably should, oops).

AND ALSO keep in mind that i work out a lot, which includes a lot of muscle toning, ab work, etc., so maybe that's also helped my inch loss?

I'm not taking anything but flax, vitamins and b-12. I had heard that Apple Cider Vinegar pills were the same as MRC-6 (I think) I haven't been able to find them locally. Does someone know more about these pills? I don't want to give out the wrong info here.
