Hi all. Am relatively new to this blog. Tried posting back in August when I first started with MRC but my posting failed. Anyway, been on the program for 5 weeks now and have lost 16 lbs. I started the MetaQuick Plus program for the coming week to help me come off of my first (& hopefully last) plateau. Any suggestions on how to consume/mix the veggie powder and chocolate powder that I'm supposed to have with my lunch?

I'm psyching myself up for some good workouts this weekend. I'm 3 lbs away from the personal goal I set for myself to be at today. It was a very reasonable goal - but my weight loss seems to be slowing. It's rained here every day this week so I couldn't go jogging. I'm going to find a good cardio workout On Demand and do that instead (when my hubby and son aren't home so we don't get the giggles at me hopping around like a crazy person )

I've cut out creamies and upped my water. I do feel hungry a lot during the day so I wonder if my body thinks it's in starvation mode? My hubby and I want to throw an 80's-themed Halloween Bash and I want to feel fit and healthy so I can totally rock the neon!

I recorded The Biggest Loser earlier this week and finally had a chance to sit down and watch it last night. It's the first time I've watched the show and there were tears off and on the whole show. It takes courage to change your life and they definitely have courage for doing it on national television! Although, I wouldn't like Jillian yelling in my face all the time. I'm a little feisty and the first time she cussed in my face we might have a brawl, lol I love everyone's stories. There are some I'm rooting for a little more than the others. I would love to know Abby in person. Some of the things she says are so insightful, which I'm sure comes from the strength you gain from personal tragedy. I bet her students adore her. They'll all be inspiration and motivation to me this season.

I'm so glad to hear from you Namaste! You definitely were / are an inspiration to me. When I first started reading 3FC posts looking for the 'trick' or 'hoax' to MRC, I read your testimonial and cried and cheered and (virtually) hugged you through it. I check your blog occasionally to see if there are any updates but it is even better to get a post from you here.

I really am accepting of my body - being tall, I've always been able to carry my weight but I knew I needed to get to a healthier weight as I got older. I love yoga and that will probably be what helps me tone up - that and twice a week in the warm water therapy pool doing an hour of exercises - maybe even swimming laps if I can build up the stamina. I will check out the balancing cream and see if they recommend it for me.

You are so right, we do what we can when we can. All our previous experiences make us who/what we are today. I appreciate your FIL's motto " it is what it is " . Thank you for sharing him with us; your family is lucky to have had such a wonderful man and you are so blessed to love and be loved by his son. Thank you for checking in on us and sharing your experiences with us. Have a glorious autumn - celebrate each and every day. Namaste, Namaste.

Thanks! I try to stop by every week (would love to be around every day but work is just too busy right now) and check in with all my favorite people.... and of course, my favorite forum! Thank you for the compliments and even more than that, thank you for the wonderful virtual hugs; those are some of the best!

Yoga is great to get toned and I think it just forces you to slowwww down and be. I love it and it really does work well so that's even better. Honestly, just do what you love and the rest will come. I hate being forced to exercise; I end up revolting and it's not pretty. However, I also know we need it so I choose to find things that I enjoy. Hence, swimming, pilates and yoga.... and of course, ole' faithful.... gazelle (and I have to admit on that one; it's just convenient.... I don't love the gazelle; I can however watch my favorite recorded shows while cruising along so it's a win win there)

And yes, everything that has happened along the way has shaped us into what and who we are today.... the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm so happy to have been able to share him with all of you too; he was an amazing man, and I was so lucky to have him in my life. And that hot son of his; I'll tell ya.... I won BIG! Can I also say; thank you. Thank you for being you, and for coming into my life when you have.... and sharing my journey with me (and in turn allowing me to share in your journey). What a fabulous journey we are all on here together!

You have a wonderful weekend, I'll be around.... lurking in the corner.... bat wings and all!

Talk to you soon! And, namaste.

Denise

Just had a great family night with the boys, even the oldest one hung out with us. We went looking for halloween costumes. I actually got a regular one and it was not skin tight or awkward looking! Then had dinner and a movie. Arranged dinner before subjecting myself to popcorn or chocolate covered almonds! Hint the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was great but made me so hungry! Got momentary cravings for all kinds of things!

Halloween is my favorite holiday!!

I'm going to be Marie Antoinette this year!

leahruthie, a friend of mine is on The Biggest Loser so I have inside information. I've never watched it before but I'll have to start now.

funshine, I'm not motivated by people yelling at me either. I much prefer the sweet support we give each other here.

Well, in spite of no response to my posting yesterday, I thought I would share that the veggie powder is not gross. It does have a strong spearmint flavor to it so I would recommend putting it with something that it won't clash with. I love the green tea cranberry HNC and think it would taste good with it. Today I will put it with my creamy cocoa for a lovely minty chocolate drink.

Yesterday was day 1 on Meta Quick. I also decided to take a "short" road trip which ended up being 6 hours long! While I did take along a HNC in case I wasn't back for my dinner time, I didn't eat dinner until around 9:30 p.m. and had a huge headache by then. I don't think I'll be trying 7 and 1/2 hours in between lunch and dinner again while I'm on Meta Quick.

I'll try another question and see if anyone answers me this time. Does anyone else feel like they have a fever (hot) from time to time? I'm past menopause (went through it in my early 40's) so I know they are not hot flashes. I wondered if this was part of the ketosis process.

Hope to hear from someone...

Sorry I didn't respond to your first request. I don't use that product.

I can, however, respond to your last question with a similar story. I'd begun the wonder journey of menopause in January of 2005 (surgically-induced). I was on an ERT patch for about 2 1/2 years after that, then weaned myself off of them and only experienced an occasional night sweat.

About a week into the MRC program, I began 'training for the inferno of ****', as my sister puts it. I asked one of the MRC counselors about this and she pretty much poo-pooed the idea that either the supplements (including MRC-6) or simply the change in diet had any correlation with the new crop of hot flashes. (And yes, they were definite hot flashes, identified by the very odd sweating on the front of my thighs and the feeling that the top of my head is throwing off three-foot flames.)

I'm currently on day 56 and the flashes have dwindled from a couple dozen a day to maybe two. I'm still convinced there's a connection, but so far, I'm unable to link the two.

PNF and Laura,

That has happened to me also. Very strange, I was blaming it on the flu bug I had, but I thought towards the end, I still shouldn't be feverish. I am not taking anything from MRC but the HNS's. Surely the HNS's can't be doing this. There is nothing in them that would cause that would there be?
