After my 5 lb week I seem to be stuck again. It's not bothering me too much though because my clothes continue to get looser, I'm looking better and better in pictures :) Plus, it's my TOM and I've been doing my C25K runs over the past week (I wasn't doing C25K the week I lost 5--grrr). So I'm just trying to hang in there and keep plugging along. I'm on Day 3 of MetaQuick so we'll see if that helps at all. I was getting a little tired of my foods and having some cravings, so I thought MQ might help to refocus as it has in the past.

I've got to give another plug to the C25K program--I'm so loving it and I have always HATED running. I just started week 4 today and the 30 minute session includes 16 minutes of running (2-3 min runs and 2- 5 minute runs). I really wasn't sure I'd be able to do it but I felt like a rock star once I finished. I just love the challenge of it! Gives me something to focus on other than the diet and also keeps me in check over the holidays.

The last time I was trying to lose weight (Atkins) I also started C25K program. I remember the first day...when I had to "run" for something like 30 seconds or a minute I thought I was going to die...and I was "running" at 4.0 on the treadmill! By the time I had lost 50 pounds (was down to 200) I was on week 9 and running for about 20-25 minutes. I couldn't believe I was actually running at 200+ pounds. I was so hooked on the program--and then I went on vacation and when I got back from my trip I could not get motivated and I never went back. I also gained all my weight back in less than 2 months (I binged everyday---ughhhh) I think I will start the plan up again after the first of the year. I just want to take it easy while the weight seems to come off so easy at first with just walking. I also want to be below 250 when I start the program---almost there!
Congrats to you for sticking with the program---see it all the way though! I am sure you must already see amazing results. I would joke that I heard the Rocky theme song at the end of each run. I also was pretty bored of just walking the same speed, same miles, same time everyday. That program gave me something new each week to challenge me.

All of this talk of the C25K makes me want to start on January 1st. The thought of it makes me cringe, because I don't think I could run for even 15 seconds right now! Definitely something to think about.

I just braved the snow and ice to WI (we are in the middle of a crazy arctic storm here in Portland) and am down another 1.5 since Friday for a total of 6 pounds in 8 days (they told me today not to count pre-conditioning as diet days). The weather is going to get worse before it gets better, so I admit that a big part of the reason that I even went out today was to pick up some double chocolate pudding HNS's! I also told my counselor that I was planning on drinking at my Christmas party, so I will be doing the QuickSlim for 5 days following. It doesn't sound fun, but I will survive. I got my green menu and start that Thursday.

Congratulations!!! 6lbs in 8 days!!! Great job! Be safe out there in that bad weather. We are having a cold snap here as well.

Hey everyone. I'm so back on track and can hardly contain my excitement! WOOHOOO!!! They crack me up at my center b/c I swear they all take a HUGE HAPPY PILL every day! :) I'm really not that excitable and would never hoot and hollar the way they do:).

Anyway..I WI this AM and was down another 3 lbs! SOOOOO...That's 6 lbs in my first week back OP. I'm really excited b/c I thought it wouldn't go this well. I'm down under 130 again and am really excited about that. My overall goal is 115 so now I'm only 14.5 lbs away and only 4 lbs away from my lowest back in September.

I'm on the blue menu now for the next 6 days (Tuesday-Sunday) so I should have another great WI next Monday. I'll go tomorrow for a class and Thursday for WI again.

Keep up the hard work everyone. IT WILL PAY OFF!!

You're kicking butt Rocki!!!! Congrats!

Dixie actually did mine for me, but I believe she put all the pics into a powerpoint slide then saved it. That way, you have several pics on one slide and can post it in your profile as 1 pic.

busyink: Both my kids are UNC grads, and I worked at the UNC Foundation for several years before moving to the job I'm in now. Tell your sister we have a great MRC Center...lots of support, plenty of classes, promotions, clothing exchanges, etc. My son and his wife joined in July after seeing my progress, and they will start stabilization at the end of the month.

Be glad you're not in Greeley this week. The high yesterday was 0, which is highly unusual for us. Today it is a balmy 10 degrees. :sunny:

Bonnie & Denise....let's do it! I want to start at the first of the year also. We could do it together! I've always wanted to run a 5K but have always been too embarrassed to jog outside in front of everyone as heavy as I was. I would have to start inside on my treadmill (January in NE is cold!!) then by spring I would be ready to head outside. I looked on-line last night to find a schedule but must not have gotten on the right site. The only ones I found started you jogging a couple of miles 5xper week. I need the one that starts you at a couple of minutes at a time :)

NAMASTE .......you look gorgeous!!!! Love the new pics!

I weighed in today and am just .5lbs. away from the 40lb. board. Hopefully on Friday! I went to the store today to look for a Christmas party outfit and I could actually fit into regular ladies extra large clothes! I stood in the store dressing room staring at myself smiling from ear to ear. I didn't find what I was looking for but I left in a great mood anyway :0)

Maintainforlife...thank you for the comments on my family. I have two girls (both redheads) so our hands are full! :) Too funny on the "re-dos". I'll have to remember that term:). AND WOOHOOOO on those size 10s! That's awesome. I was in 14s when I started and remember 10 being a milestone for me. You'll breeze right through into 8s in no time! :)

I was probably too wordy anyway! and it's getting me out of the dishes...oh, again how the "re-do's" question being home :)! DLA....You can do it! It's hard at first, but it really goes along well. I didn't think I could run at all b/c I have asthma and still get winded just going up my stairs at home. However, this program really helps and you'll be up to running minutes at a time before you know it!

Denise..Thanks for the info..Who's Dixie again??:) I'm not sure if I have PowerPoint (I think I do). I'll have to see if I can figure it out. Congrats again on your continued successful journey! You're amazing! :)

We can actually run our 5K together!! I'm with you. Google C25K and it will give you the 9 week plan that involves training 3X per week.

Dixie is DKRiley on her posts and she is really good at working the pictures into the slide so if you have issues, let her know! I'm sure she can walk you through it.

Thank you!
