MRC staff was thrilled and said "you lost that during pre-conditioning---wait until you start the REAL plan on Monday!"

I am on top of the world!!!

Congrats! You should be so proud of yourself! This program is awesome!

Congrats!!! :carrot: What a great accomplishment. You should be proud of yourself!

Does anyone know if smoked salmon is an approved protein? If so, I'm looking for an easy platter to put together. Unfortunately cream cheese seems to be required...any ideas?

Well, salmon is a group 2 protein but the smoked salmon I think tends to be pretty salty so you'd want to have a lot of water if you're going to have that. I'm coming up blank on a substitute for cream cheese.

What about deviled eggs?

I think you're right about the sodium. What about fat free cream cheese? I found a bunch of great appetizer recipes, most include cream cheese and one even suggested using a cucumber base instead of cracker which I thought was pretty cool. I could definitely forgo cream cheese if needed and just have plain salmon on cucumber. But a rollup would be pretty :)

I thought about deviled eggs and found the recipe, but I think someone else is already bringing "real" ones so I don't want to duplicate. I'll definitely be making some at home though.

Meemo, how much shrimp do you think I'd have to eat to get 4 oz? Are shrimp more or less heavy than chicken?

I always seem to search for recipes late at night and it makes me hungry :dizzy:

I really ought to do one of these today since I haven't been to the gym since Monday...Anyhoo, if you're looking for videos, Collage Video has a great website where you can watch a portion of the videos and read user reviews.

Thanks! I'll look into that. Regarding the C25K website, I haven't had a lot of time to poke around, but I've been very impressed by what I've seen. I'm thinking about downloading the podcasts, but I need a tutorial.

I'm getting excited! I'm bringing a big veggie tray, a smoked salmon appetizer, and an OP dessert (some type of cookie probably). Someone else is bringing shrimp. I am BLIND to all other foods there

I think MRC centers needs to have more parties w/ good foods, don't you think???

Oh, and it's a regift/white elephant party. Would it be obnoxious if I gift wrapped some forbidden food? I have a huge box of Hershey's brownie mix from Sam's that needs to leave my cabinet...:p

Hard to say on the shrimp - it just depends on the size of the shrimp (I live in Shrimp-ville, but since there's everything from little baby shrimp to extra jumbo, it's hard to know what size your friend will bring). Just eyeball it, the general rule of thumb is that a serving of protein is about the size of a deck of playing cards, or the palm of your hand.
Fat free cream cheese is better than regular - might not be the worst option ever, especially if you don't eat much of it yourself ;)

That could work, especially if you put it together with something else - kitchen towels, a mixing bowl & spoon, etc. Anything kitchen-related.
