Okay Grad I'm going to "ditto" everything you said...because I feel the same way. I seem to be able to say a quick "hi" then I'm not able to get to the computer for days!!! So really, everyone...all the news is incredible:carrot:...and I too love seeing you newbies...and everyone returning...really, read Grad's input twice...:)!!! Now the questions and comment:):
What is "nuun"...for dehydration?
I find my "thoughts" making me a bit crazy lately...apparently the no weightloss is frustrating me. But, several people have genuinely complimented me...and I've just kinda shrugged them off...feeling that I haven't accomplished much...because I'm so far from my goal...my DH made me stand in front of the mirror a few days ago to make me realize that I'm not looking at the 194 body anymore...it helped...but isn't it amazing how we always want more? Reading all of your successes makes me think back to this summer to being a part of the "quick" successes...and thinking I'd never be frustrated. Now...I'm realizing that maybe it's part of the path. Okay...I'm rambling...but another question is...I know I'm doing a good job of staying OP...but can the "mind" be sooooo strong that I could really be subconsciously "willing" myself not to lose...hmmm....maybe that's rediculous...time to do some deep breathing!!! :hug:xoxoCarrie

Hi Carrie! Wow! I'm so flattered to be your 3FC spokesperson today! ;)
It gets super hot and steamy where I live in the summer, and last summer I had some dehydration problems and was having a lot of dizzy spells and super low blood pressure and fatigue and had to have a lot of blood tests and what-not.
Mrs.Phibes recommended something called
Nuun, which is more on-plan than regular Gatorade. You can google it to read more about it, but I ended up with four tubes of little alka-seltzer-like tablets, which dissolve in water and are good for rehydrating and adding electrolytes, like Gatorade but without the sugar and with less sodium, I think. I think they came out of Washington State and were a little pricey, but I have one several times a week and have been feeling much better. If you are thinking about buying them, I am happy with all of the flavors except kona cola--it's like leaving a soda out for two days, watering it down a bit, and picking it up to drink after all the carbonation is gone. The others are fine, though.
Regarding giving yourself permission to lose weight, there may be something to that. There was some discussion over the summer about that very thing--was that you,
Finz or
ShineOn? I'm thinking it was one of the more senior members who advised a junior member to do that.

I was gone for a week and am 8 pages behind on the posts! We had a family emergency. My daughter had a seizure during the night and ended up in the ER/hospital, so I spent a couple of days at her house near Denver with her two little boys. What a scare it was for all of us. Luckily, the CT scan was normal but she was dehydrated and low on potassium. They have forbidden her from driving until she gets an OK from the neurologist next week when she has an EEG. We have our fingers crossed everything will be OK. In spite of being at her house, I managed to eat pretty much what I have been eating on maintenance and didn't binge (except for 1 WW muffin she had in her cupboard, as her bread was not lo-cal). My maintenance weight has yo-yo'd up and down just 3 lbs over the past 3 months, so I feel like I am getting the hang of it.

Wow, Judy! That sounds so scary! This is bizarre, but you are the second person today to mention a grown child having a seizure. The other woman's son checked out fine, and they concluded that it might have been tied to an energy drink he had for breakfast or low electrolytes. I'm so proud that you were able to stick with your plan through all that. Sending good wishes your way that all your daughter's tests will check out okay!

SIGS: Great new photo...you look like a freshman college student, not like a grad student. I love your grandma stories...and I can just see you rolling your eyes while you are on the phone. I can't believe Target didn't do more than offer to pay for your shot!

Oh, wow! ("Wow" is my big word tonight.) You make me feel so good! My grandmother is such a wonderful person and often keeps me going on whatever I've got going when I'd like to throw in the towel--and she means well, even if sometimes she leaves me shaking my head in bewilderment. She is 84, and I'm so lucky to have her.

I am so proud of myself tonight! It was my uncle's b-day and my family chose mexican food. (The restaurant happens to be my favorite and also has the best margaritas). I came prepared so I drank a ton of water on my way to the restaurant and had a HNS right before I went in. I was offered a margarita and I said no way! I made sure I had gum in my mouth so I didn't want to eat any chips. I special ordered a salad that was OP, I ordered a bed of lettuce, a whole tomato (sliced), grilled bell peppers, with grilled chicken and salsa as my dressing. I had some black beans; not 1/4 cup though because they were a little salty. I was satisfied with what I ordered, but it ended up being a $20 salad! I know I don't feel like everyone else, (They were all bloated and stuffed). Since we were there for a b-day, they gave my uncle a huge sopapilla to share. They passed plates down, and I told them no!
So I normally would have been ticked that I couldn't have my favorite meal, but I wasn't bothered this time. I know I am going to make goal :)

I am so proud of you! There is a chain of tortilla factories here in Texas that are pretty darn good, and I thought I'd never be able to go in there and resist getting the fajita plate and maybe a little queso, but I've found that the chicken fajita salad with salsa really is my favorite thing on the menu. I can go in there now and not be tempted by the tortilla plates. I hope you'll have a revelation like that, too.

So I made the family Turkey Tacos tonight for dinner - HUGE HIT!
I used ground turkey and Ms Dash Southwest Chipotle blend and green onions. Really good... I'll eat that again! Used a low carb, low cal tortilla, cut it in half to make it 40 cals sprayed a little Pam on it and just a tiny amount of Sea Salt - baked it. I'm super excited, now I just wanna dive in to expiermenting with cooking food that is MRC compliant. Cooking is part of what got me in my size 18's (14's now) in the first place - if it can help me lose weight - all the better!
Even my ultra picky husband was impressed! YAY!

That's wonderful! Have you found the 40 calorie La Tortilla Factory tortillas? At my Wal-Mart they are kept with the specialty breads directly in front of the deli counter.

Oh, and it's a regift/white elephant party. Would it be obnoxious if I gift wrapped some forbidden food? I have a huge box of Hershey's brownie mix from Sam's that needs to leave my cabinet...:p

Ha ha! I bet someone would love to have that box of brownies. At least it would be more useful than, say, one of those trial offer discs from a national internet provider. I took a block of cheese from Sam's as my $10 gift to the last party I went to.
