I am new to this community and joined MRC 13 days ago. So far I have only lost 5.5 lbs. But I did have two bad days. I got frustrated at the scale and didn't think about my cycle starting and lost it. But I am back on. I don't have cravings but I don't like the time of day that the carbs are to be eaten. I wish I could remove the carb at dinner and place it with lunch and place the fruit with dinner. But I never asked about it. So I am leaving it be. I guess they have it that way for a reason. Any advice for a newbie. How do I subscribe and how do I get a ticker?

Weighed in today and lost 2 more pounds...that's 8 pounds in 11 days OP! I'm pretty excited. I know it won't always come off that fast, but it helps the motivation factor of getting started on a new diet losing a bunch right off the bat. I'm already one notch tighter on my belt and my jeans zipped right up fresh out of the dryer!

What does NSV stand for? I keep seeing it and I'm confused.

I just finished making Amazing Cheesecake (from the MRC cookbook) and the batter tastes really good. I think next time I will use less lemon juice though, and the crust was enough of a pain to crush up that I might skip crust on my next one. I used my mini food processor to smooth the cottage cheese and it worked amazingly well...totally smooth, not a chunk to be found. I was surprised at how much it tastes like sour cream once it is smooth. I will keep that in mind for taco salads in the future!

NSV = Non scale victory

I'm not sure they'll believe me, as I've still managed to lose about 10 lbs since last I saw them, but I haven't even been close to being on plan. Maybe they can set me straight next week. I asked my doctor on Wednesday where I needed to be, and he said that I am great where I'm at, but that my ideal weight is 156, which is what MRC originally said before I convinced them that could not possibly be the case. LOL.

I wonder how similar your plan is to the DLA plan which I have been following. I, too, have continued to lose weight, but not at the pace I was on MRC. I am going back full OP on Sunday.

I am 5'-10" too and I have a really hard time believing that I could get to 156. That would be incredible! Are you changing your goal to 156? I know that Denise is also 5'-10" so I have been watching her to see what her final weight is.

Here's a blog where some pics of my family are (and some great pics of other people as well). This is my friend/neighbor's blog and she took our holiday photos for us! Oh, hopefully we're allowed to post this here. I'm not trying to sell anything. Just wanted to share pictures..

My current goal is 183, but when I get there I may decide to go to 170. I don't foresee going much below that but you never know. I guess it just really depends on how you FEEL. I have a pretty strong feeling that I will not FEEL like I'm "there" yet at 183 and that's why I'll keep going. I truly do believe that you will know when you get to that point where you have "arrived".

I'm 5'11 also and I just hit 178 today with my goal being 175. I keep debating going further but 156 would never be possible! My contract is up at the end of this month so I guess we'll see what they say. I'll go in and do measurements again after Christmas to see what everything is running at and then make that decision. I totally think it's about bone structure also. Plus after Christmas I want to start lifting again and muscle does weight more than the fat so that might make a difference about where I end up.

Victory number 2 is that I took all the clothes in my trunk to a resale shop today. I did this by myself (after going to two resale shops yesterday with a friend--both places were full and weren't buying anything.) I won't find out until tomorrow what, if anything, they'll actually buy, but what I get back will go straight to the mission because I need to let go. If I can get some money to put toward some new things in the process, great. It was also exciting to see so many nice things on the rack in the resale shop that I can actually fit into. Unlike Namaste, I did not find a $7 peacoat. *sniff, sniff*

Congrats on letting go!! I know that can be a struggle for some. Thankfully right now I'm at a point where I'm ready to just throw all my clothes out and get new. I guess I just want to forget what I looked like for the last 12 years!

Congrats on the 50 lb. board!!!!:cheer2:

I got to sign the 40lb. board today!! We had a winter storm last night so the roads were covered with ice this morning but I didn't care. I was determined to sign that board today! :)

Namaste......I don't think I told you that I love your new avatar. You have a beautiful family!

I am only 5'5" and once before (11 years ago) I went from 200 down to 150 and I didn't want to lose anymore---even tho charts still concerned me "overweight" by 2 pounds. I was a size 6. I loved that I still had curves and did NOT want to be a stick. I wonder if I will still feel the same way this time after I have lost 100+ pounds. I think it all depends on how you feel, what type of body shape you desire and if there is still toning to be done. My body shape may be different when I get to 150 this time than what it was 11 years ago when I only had to lose 50 pounds rather than 100. When I lost the weight back then I had no saggy skin and was pretty toned. I hope that I have that kind of luck this time!

btw, I got to sign the 15 pound board today! 15.5 pounds in 19 days!:D
