O.K, this is it. I have been wasting my weeks. I start every Monday and by Wednesday I have messed up and say well I will just start over on Monday. This is getting me no where. I am still the same weight as when I signed up. I am so mad at myself. I have updated my weight ticker and I have started again today. I don't know what is wrong with me. I have all of the tools to do this. I went and bought a new bike last week and I have not got on the thing.

I plan to go to the center today and weigh in and commit to starting over. One thing that I have noticed is that I get no support from the counselors at the center. There are no classes etc. I feel like they could care less if I am on the diet or not. I am very dissappointed about that part of it.

Anyway I am here and I will succeed. This is a great plan and I love this group. I have been a lurker but not anymore.

By the way I purchased a vidalia onion chopper and used it last night preparing my veggies for the week and that thing is wonderful! I chopped mushrooms, peppers, and cucumbers. It was so easy and the clean up is easy! I got it at CVS, but you can find them just about anywhere.

Have a good day everyone!

It's HARD to recommit to the program so a huge CONGRATS to you for having the courage to do it. I highly recommend the book that has been mentioned on here so often, "Life is Hard, Food is Easy".

Put it all behind you and try to be focused on the program as it is set up. Centers vary--my counselors are all nice, some are more knowledgeable than others. There are a few that I feel I know the program better than they do! Mine does not offer any motivational classes, either. I was lucky enough to join with a friend and that has helped me tremendously. This board is another fantastic source of comfort and support. This program does work -it's not easy, we all have struggled at times, but it truly does work!

Texasgirl- don't beat yourself up. For one thing, if you do mess up, start over at the next meal or at the very least, the next day. Don't wait until Monday. Your body doesn't know it's Monday, only you do! Also, write down the reasons you want to lose weight and keep those nearby so when your feeling weak, take a look at them. Also, I was on vacation for a few days last week, and though I didn't eat OP, I still made healthy choices like grilled shrimp, brocolli, and fiber-one raisin cereal for breakfast. I think about riding the roller coasters with my 5 year old son, or all the awesome clothes that are going to look so good on me, or actually being able to jog for a mile. Think about what motivates you and why you want to do this, then take it one day at a time, not one week at a time. You CAN do this. You just have to want it for yourself and realize that you ARE worth being fit and healthy and happy.

I'm so happy to see that you're not giving up. Don't be a lurker anymore, we want to hear how you are doing!

I found this the other day and it has helped me a lot:

And then after you read her story, look at her before and after pics:

Thanks for the support and advice. I went to the center and weighed in and bought some of the fiber fill which I have never tried and I bought the total woman to take instead of the flax so I don't have to swallow so many pills.

The manager or owner weighed me and talked with me. I have never got her before and it helped talking with her. The other young girls that work there never give you any support or advice. She was very nice and told me to come in twice a week and take it one week at a time. I asked her about my weeks because I have wasted May & June and she said as long as I come in twice a week and make an effort when my contract expires (10/10/08) she will not charge me a resign fee she will let me continue until I reach my goal. She said if I do not make an effort and no not come in to weigh then it is $129.00 resign fee with no limit until I reach my goal. I thought that was good. I was worried. Wish I had that in writing!

Oh my gosh! Thanks for that Strawberry! What an interesting and motivational story! She is just beautiful. I wrote down the book she suggested and I will be ordering it on Amazon along with the other book by Linda Spangle.

Default 30 lb Board!

I did it! 30 lbs gone for good and the 30 lb board signed!

My journey seems so slow compared to some of the others, but at least it is steadily progressing. And I got the two free weeks for coming in both last Thursday and today. That gets me into the first week of September to lose the last 14 lbs (or maybe 19 lbs, depending on how 130 feels when I get there).

Our MRC office seems to really offer options -- weekly HNS giveaways, several classes a week, a clothing swap, etc., so guess we are lucky. Makes you wonder why some of these options aren't available at other sites. Some of you may want to ask about them for your centers, as it really is a motivator to continue.

Texasgirl123: One of the things that helped me was to set mini goals, as the entire weight loss goal was too large for me to start to comprehend. Several of the people on the forum listed theirs. Here are some of mine: 1. to lose 10% of my current weight (17 lbs. done!) 2. To get to my driver's license weight (did it l lb. ago) 3. And my next is rather silly...be able to stand up and not have the top of my thighs touch. I still have a few pounds to go on that one.

I did mini rewards, too, like a pedicure for 10 lbs. gone, some new clothes in smaller sizes, new shoes, etc. This seemed to help me.

Hang in there...this is not easy but there are a lot of us out here who believe you can do this.

Thanks Judy! That is exactly what the counselor said today. She also recommended journaling. I don't have the time right now to do that but it is
a good idea! Congratulations by the way!

Gma to 4: Congrats!!!!! You did it!

I went to WI today (since I am doing 3 weeks of pre-conditioning) and I lost 2 pounds. I thought the 5.5 was a bit much! Plus, I weighed right befre i went and it looks like my scale is about 1.5 lower than the center. Figures! LOL

I also got a more detailed pre-conditioning list. The first one I had only said 3 balanced meals and 2 snacks, plus 64 oz. water. Duh! If I could follow that simpl plan, I wouldn't need to fork over money for the program. The counselor today gave me some more pointers and gave me a multi vitamin. I will try to be better this week. My big 4-0 is Sunday and I have planned some serious festivities for myself. Hey, if I have to turn 40, I am doing it with a bang! That's another motivation for the program. I am going into it thinking I will have a better looking year 41 and beyond!

I keep saying it, but having you all here to bounce ideas off of and to read about your successes (and small setbacks) reminds me that I do not have to be perfect on this program. You are all an inspiration!
