S/C/G: reboot 1/10/2023 238/175/160

I am on a good path so far this week -- down another 1.2 lbs since my WI on Monday... now if I can just be consistently good on the weekend I will have a good weigh in on March 20.

I am feeling terrific about this morning's weigh in on my home scale because I am only 0.4 lbs from a 20 lb loss overall for this reboot.

How about everyone else?

Congrats, oneuh!

I'm feeling good, also. Not quite 20 yet on this reboot from mid-January. Actually it's been exactly 2 months and I'm down 18 lbs. I'm happy with that and will continue. The pounds are coming off pretty slowly, but I'm starting to fit into clothes better and feeing better.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

That's exactly why it works for the 'carb flu'. Carb flu is simply insufficient sodium. If you are eating low carb you need a serious amount of sodium since the body dumps it when low carbohydrate.

Weighed in this morning at 185.4. That's a 1.75 lb loss this week for a total of 13 lbs down in 4 weeks!

Stacey, that's awesome! I'm trying hard to focus on where I want to be in 1 month - in ketosis, starting to feel more comfortable in my clothes again, and through the hunger and cravings of the first few weeks. After nearly 2 years of attempted reboots, I finally have "healthy/skinny me" back in focus in my mind and my motivation has picked up considerably.

That said, I had a rough weekend diet-wise. My husband and I went to Kentucky to celebrate his grandmother's 90th birthday with all of his extended family and after a single evening of not drinking and abstaining from eating any of the heavy, carby, southern food brought around by his many aunts, family gossip started that I must be newly pregnant. Awesome. We don't have kids yet, we aren't ready to have kids yet, and I feel fat enough already - I definitely didn't need to be scrutinized by his family trying to guess whether I've just gotten chubby since losing a ton of weight two years ago, or have the beginning of a baby bump. No thank you! I tried to put the rumor to bed and tell people I'm dieting, but by Saturday evening it was much easier to have a very conspicuous Gin and Tonic and a side of grits.

So my reboot start date has been delayed by a few days, but as of Sunday evening, I've been pretty strict and am feeling good. I think the episode this weekend probably also helped keep me motivated to slim down again - I don't want to be anywhere near the "pregnant or just overweight" zone.

Woot!! That is great!

Welcome to all the new re-booters!

I am having a pretty uneventful week, trying to get all the salt and water in, since I keep forgetting to add the salt and I'm not super good about the water.

Has anyone tried to make "ice cream" with the quest powder? I found a recipe that called for 1 scoop of powder, 1 cup of milk and 1/4 cup sweetner. I figure if I substitute water for the milk and eliminate the sweeter (I think it's already sweet enough!) it might work? I've been making muffins with the quest powder and they are pretty good.

Hello fellow re-booters!

I have passed the 20 lb mark and am looking for that 25lb-loss milemarker pretty soon... I am coming along slowing compared to the first IP experience, but I seem to be hanging in ok.

I had a bonus kick to my losses the past few days -- a VERY RARE occasion of LACK of APPETITE..... I NEVER have a lack of appetite, so this is really something. Of course a bad sinus infection had to be the cause. But I am determined to have it be a good thing from the weight loss perspective.

I am trying to use drinks, soups, and puddings as much as possible, with some added variety of the Sea Salt and Vinegar Crisps at lunch in lieu of soup sometimes. By the way - for anyone looking for more SODIUM... those crisps are very salty.

And my other treat, instead of an IP restricted bar, is the Quest Blueberry Muffin bar... baked in the oven as 8 little cookies.

Right now this has been working pretty well.... and I am glad to see the Reboot gang here is doing well too.

ta ta for now,
cheryl

Hi Everyone I'm a lurker/occasional poster on the IP forum. I lost 95lbs in 2013 and have had a slow weight creep. Then I spiked up 10 lbs over the holidays. I'm rebooting & adding a little extra protein to get through work shifts. 10 lbs down, 15 to go.

Coincidentally, I found this ice cream recipe on my desktop this afternoon, in case you'd like another to test It's a little more P1 friendly~ uses less milk. I think I got it from Ro22 in a fabulous recipe book that she made, complete with photos. Thanks Ro22!

Malted Ice Cream
You can make this ice cream in many different flavors and varieties depending on which Ideal Protein products are your favorite. Here are some examples: Chocolate Drink Mix, Wildberry Yogurt Mix, Peach and Mango Drink Mix, Vanilla Pudding, Butterscotch Pudding, Raspberry Jelly Mix, Blueberry or Strawberry Pudding, etc.
• Ideal Protein product of your choice
• 1 oz skim milk
• 1/2 cup Spenda or Stevia
• 2 Tbs Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup
• 3 cups ice cubes
First, add 1 oz milk to the blender then pour the Walden Farms in. Start blending this on low speed then add the IP product. Blend on high speed and start gradually adding ice cubes until the misture gets thick. Top with Walden Farms Marshmallow Dip, if desired.

Do you think Ro22 made up the IP packet with water first or added it dry?

Interesting! Thanks for the ice cream suggestion- may have to try that out. We have an ice cream maker so I think I am just going to try the quest shake in it and see if that works. But, it's nice to have options!

Congrats to everyone this week on their losses! One-uh- congrats on 20 pounds!! Woot!!

The ice cream sounds like a nice treat. On my first round of IP, I made a lot of batches of zucchini muffins using the maple oatmeal. Glad to have another "recipe" to add to my arsenal.

I'm hanging in here on day 4. The scale finally moved a tick this morning, so I'm focusing on eking out whatever losses I can muster between now and my first weigh in Saturday morning as I push through week 1. I won't have had a full week by time I weigh in, so I'm mentally preparing myself for minimal progress and trying to keep in mind that even a small loss is a move in the right direction.

Hi Cheryl!

Glad to hear you are feeling better. The recipe book that I had put together was a collection I had found and what people were posting in threads so for the most part, they weren't ones that I developed. So, I never made this particular recipe. However, I have made ice cream with another recipe and based upon that, I would say to add it dry.

If you want another good alternative, simply make it as a shake. If a shake, you mix it with about 6-8 oz of ice cold water with ice cubes. I have a Quest Cookies'n'Cream shake every day (in fact I just finished one!), and I really love them - I find them so filling. I also add salt to it as I have found it needed salt.

Had my first weigh in on Saturday morning and was only down .8 (though after only 5 days, not a full week). I'm definitely not in ketosis yet. I did have two nibbles of cheese (the hardest thing for me to give up) and, in a pinch, had about 6 almonds one evening but was otherwise very strict - got all my veggies and supplements and at least 90% of the water.

Do any of you have any tips for jump starting things a little bit? Should I replace my restricted items with unrestricted the whole week? I could really use a good loss this week to help me stay on track. I've tried to reboot so many times before. I really need this time to stick. Thanks for any advice!!

I cannot skip my restricted item. Otherwise i CRAVE carbs and put myself at risk for cheating. Not really advice, just perspective.

Had WI in this morning and down 3.8!! SO CLOSE to saying goodbye to the 180s and at a total of 16.8 lbs. Thanks to you all for being there for support.

Found a few recipes that are very good for P1 on skinny taste. will post recipes soon!
