The "Daily Chat" thread is only for those on Eastern time? Duly noted. I will stay out if it, then.

You sure do! I'm CT but you're...Pacific?
And...I was up too late last nite, too. End of school year stuff.

Yep Lisa - I'm on Pacific time. Been super busy lately with work, home, etc. - you know how life goes. Seems like I am sleeping in if I make it past 4 a.m. in bed anymore.

I have several so I can't point to one. Each does a different job.
I have a Cuisinart stick blender
A magic Bullet
A Vitamix
A Kitchenaid Stand mixer
and a Cuisinart food processor

Which do I use the least? the actual food processor. I find anything it does can be done by hand. Clean up of the food processor takes so long that it negates the time saving of the actual slicing/chopping/shredding

The most? Tie between the Bullet, Vitamix, & stick blender

I just picked up a Magic Bullet at a yard sale for $10. I'm hoping to make IP friendly frappes in it . . . and whatever else I can figure out. I am decidedly not a gadget person.

This cold continues to kick my butt. I didn't even weigh yesterday as I was all medicated and it was hot -- so I was probably all puffy anyway and didn't need the extra drama on my mind. blah . . .

Another not on Eastern time, either! Do not think that is a factor for anything...

Sometimes people just do not get around to replying to specific questions. Part of it may be time zone related, other times it may just be luck of the draw.

Hang in there, post the question again with a touch of humor and the answers will come.

Personally, I use a Magic Bullet type and find for the moment that it meets my current needs but I am limited by a very tiny kitchen and living in interim housing, so I will wait to get anything bigger or more serious for the moment.

Lol, did read the question, just didn't have a reply ... Pacific TZ by the way, and never had a food processor (have an ancient Oster blender, salad slicer, meat grinder, mixer/dough hook combo machine).

Go ahead... anyone... ask me a meat grinder question,

Liana

Hi.. On the road and traveling ..but recently went through this mind blowing exercise...

Ended up with BOTH a bullet and a vitamix.... They do different, things..what do you want it yo do..pick ONE that is #1 need. Budget permitting they are both good investments..if you are $$ strapped..the bullet is cheaper...good place to start. I went with the mid priced one...wanted the blades and was not interested in multiple containers for smoothies. Used a$20 Bed a Bath coupon! Vitamix is pricey..but well worth it. Ended up with the 750 from WMS Sonoma. They offer free online shipping because of the price most of the time if there is no nearby location. Rarely on sale. Costco has a 500 series $200 cheaper.........not the same when it comes to controlling and pulsing the speed.

Good luck..they are fantastic additions to your new life!

65X65 - I hope I can remember all those Vitamix specs when I have a house into which I can place them! For now, I use a Ninja which comes with three sizes of pitchers and works well for my needs....shakes, smoothies, blending spinach, etc

Don't need a meat grinder BUT I still think about a dehydrator -- anyone use one regularly enough or is it one of those things that end up cluttering up the shelf??

What are you planning on using it for? I have Nutribullet, which I love. It doubles the size of my drinks by adding a little ice.

I thought about getting a processor, but instead someone (can't remember who) recommended this little gadget:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I love it even more than the Nutribullet. I use it every other day for zucchini noodles/stirfry.
