pxlkitty - yeah, the 140s are close! which means that this journey is coming to an end soon. i still haven't started phase 2 yet, so maybe i'll be able to make it into the high 130s before i'm completely phased off. i'm not really worried about it either way. i'm pretty comfortable with how i look now.
lucky - haha! no. it was great to see him. he said i looked great. i felt bad though because he was overweight in HS, but got thin our senior year. he kept the weight off until about 2 years ago when he had a bad bicycle accident that shattered both of his legs. he had to walk with a cane for a year and a half, and all of the weight came back due to lack of exercise. i didn't want to draw attention to it, so i avoided most weightloss talk. it was fantastic to see him though, and i was really happy that he and my boyfriend had a lot in common and they got along really well.
Just thought I would say hello and that I finally restarted the program a few months ago and finished up at 192.6. I made it past my goal. I wanted to thank you all for all your help and encouragement. I hope you all too have continued successes and reach your goals. All of this is worth it. I feel so much better. Right before I started IP I was 296 and dieting on my own, when I started IP about month into my dieting I was 289. I lost over 100#'s! I should have just stayed on track and finished it all at once, but I needed a break. I finished up and feel amaizing. I posted new pics. This plan will and does work. I and we are all proof it does. Thanks again and I wish you all well! GIT R DUN!
Laura, that pic is un-freaking-believable! You look amazing...you're so tiny!!
Juice, we've all missed you around here. So great to hear you finished out your journey! I, too, really feel like I need a break! Still not sure what direction I'll go, but this is definitely encouragement. Your pics are outstanding too!

Awesome! Thanks for the inspiration, it's helped me think about my original goal, instead of the higher weight I revised my goal to. My coach finally let me go into Phase II last Wednesday. What a thrill it is, to be able to pick up a piece of meat at lunch with vegetables instead of a packet. Six months of phase I was wearing me out.
Keep us posted on how Maintenance is going. I'm a little nervous about that phase, when my coach encourages one splurge day a week. I'm just hoping one doesn't turn into 2, 3, 4, 5, days etc..,
It is very hard to give up the security of phase 2! I am continuing on a low carb diet, but I do allow more "incidental" foods like chips, etc when socializing.
My plan is to weigh every morning and if I see the scale going up I will cut the carbs or use phase 1 as needed.
Juice you did an amazing transformation! Congrats!

Agreed! I am in maintenance and I am struggling... yesterday, I consumed 2,200 calories (included a couple of alcoholic beverages out in the sun with visiting family members from out of town). Today, I am doing a Phase I day... or trying to (so far, so good). I can see my weight wanting to creep back up and it scares me (maybe the fact that I just finished TOM for this month is not helping).
My tendency to binge is still there and I find that if I give in, it is far worse than before. I am desperately trying not to go back to my old ways. I find maintenance VERY difficult but I will not give in to failure. I must do this and I will do this.

Of course you will do this! You have worked to hard to get where you are. It would be ridiculous to fall back into the old ways. It's just not worth it.
Food is only fuel for the body.
You will be just fine!!
It's official. I have "diet fatigue". My size medium capris are almost falling off, but I still feel fat. One moment I feel like I should phase off in another 5lbs, then I decide that I have at least 20lbs more to go. I am totally yo-yo'ing with my thoughts about continuing. I think I feel fat because of my loose skin, so I am going to get the raspberry jelly and eat it every day to see if it helps.
I also will start swimming and doing sit ups. I did crunches for two days, then stopped. I need to start toning.
I just feel like I hit a wall, mentally.
Thanks to all for listening to me vent. I just needed to get that out.
Hey experienced IP'ers. I have a question. If I were to loose all my weight on Phase I, is there any risk in going direct to Phase 3? Phase 2 looks to be exactly like Phase I, just an additional protein at lunch. I am really burnt out on Phase 1, even though it's only been 18 days, and would love to go to Phase 3 if it won't cause a gain. Thanks for providing feedback. I know what my coach will say, Phase 2 is necessary. I know that Phase 3 is critical, so I am committed to that, but need some carbs!
I am pretty sure you can do it, phase 2 and all. I was on phase 1 for 19 weeks and have been on phase 2 for 3.

You're very close to your goal, so you should be phasing off soon... I would suggest shortening Phase 2 to one week... I did Phase 2 some of the days I was on vacation a few weeks ago, and it really is nice! I know there are no carbs, but maybe knowing that carbs are a week away will help you make it through...

I hope you're feeling better today. It takes a while for your brain and your perception of yourself to shift after losing weight. I read in a study done with bariatric patients that it was 6 months to a year. I think we all know exactly what you're experiencing. One minute it's "I look good!" the next it's "Ugh, wobbly parts here and there..."
Do a side by side comparison of your progress pictures for a reality check! Phasing off doesn't have to be the end. You can always come back to lose more if you really need to, but I can't imagine that you need to! You look amazing!

Thanks, Cindy. I do feel slightly better today. I keep looking back at before pictures and I almost can't believe how far I have come in just over 4 months. But then, as you say, the next minute I am fixating on wobbly pieces here and there.
We are going to fireworks tonight at a place where a friend is a member. I've never been ton this country club, so it'll be interesting to see what kinds of food are on the buffet. Wish me luck!

I am glad you are feeling better.
My sister is going thru the same thing. She did IP and lost all of the weight she wanted. But, she is becoming too thin. She says the same thing...loose skin..wobbly places on her body. Now she is like a toothpick! I have had a talk with her and told her she needs to see herself as she is now not how she used to be.
You look fabulous!
Hello there. I am also experiencing a slight diet wall. I successfully made it through 2 vacations and even lost weight. Now that I am home, I am up two pounds and need to focus once again seriously. We had two barbecues this weekend..thank heavens there is none today. I realize that I react to social stress, especially when it is at my house. Today's goal is to exercise and be very committed!
