I didn't see my coach face to face today, we conversed through email. She sent me the phase 2 sheet, and it looks exactly like the phase 1 protocol except I substitute one packet for one meat? Can anyone confirm this?
Hi Everyone....I am yet another newbie finally making myself known! I have been stalking you all for the last 4 weeks or so...I have also been reading all the older posts to get caught up and informed. I am on day 13 of IP and what a ride! You all are so informative!
Jordanna - I seriously think you should be a coach ...you are truely inspiring!
BevS - you mentioned somewhere that you have been making stuff with Carbquik ...can you share some recipies?
I see many of you writing about using Divinci syrups flavorings---sugar free, I guess??? My friend told me her coach said absolutely no extracts or flavorings. Are any of you using Vanilla extract? peppermint extract? almond extract? Any of them? I'm trying to get a feel for this regimen before I jump in b/c it looks like IP is very $$$$$
I use many different extracts. Lemon, Orange, Almond, Vanilla, Maple, Cherry, chocolate, and peppermint. I use it to flavor water, boost tea flavor, boost my IP food flavors, in recipes that call for it or the taste like it. Walmart carries a large selection in the states by Mccormick (clubhouse in Canada) and Sur Le Table carries a good selection. I know I have seen them by wilton and other brands too.
WOOHOO CARLA!!! You look terrific in the profile pic. I can't see you very well in your avatar but it looks like a lovely place you were visiting.
thanks! I will swap out the pictures over the weekend. (it is a nice picture but the natural light was too strong and hitting us on the face so, and interesting "overexposed" look occurs).
While visiting Richmond, Va my sisters family and I visited a historic home, Ashcroft, and were in the gardens. (my avatar pic) The munchkin is my niece. It was her spring break and the ENTIRE reason I made the trip. We had a great time! Visited historic homes, went to her favorite dinner places (kid has good taste!), had a girls day with hair/nails/makeup at a local salon, planned and shopped for a party, watched movies, held a party and, the last day, went to a local amusement park - Kings Dominion (location of my profile pic). It was SUCH a great time.
For quite a few weeks, I had the vanilla box drinks 3x per day. I still think they are the best IP food of all the choices. The soups and envelope drinks are just too gloppy for my taste-- even with extra water I don't like their taste or consistency. Have steamed veggies and/or a salad for lunch with a box for dessert and then protein and veggies usually for dinner with another box at bedtime.
I've been traveling and trying different choices but will return home Sunday and go back to the vanilla boxes again. They just seem to work for me--- I tell myself they are a light milkshake! And thank goodness, I haven't gotten tired of them...
By the way, I stayed the course last evening though I was miserable and really wanting to cheat. But I hadn't lost any weight this morning so what's up with that?? So dislike the stalled scale days one on top of another...
I hear you about the stalled scale days! BOO to stalled scales! What, do they feel overworked? Maybe need a vacation! HA...
Great job staying on course for the entire trip and through last night. You have to feel great!
Is anyone else confused by all the different "rules" that each coach is using? My coach is very straight forward...by the book. She uses the sheet straight from the IP Protocol that was given to her by the distributor.
The regular IP program allows for 2 non-restrictive and 1 restrictive packet each day. That plus the 4 of veggies, lettuce, the salt, and the oil.
I not sure why some coaches are not allowing people to have a restrictive packet each day if they want one. Of course people may choose not to have a restrictive item and have 3 non-restrictive items instead...but the choice should be yours to make and not the coaches.
I have used the bars everyday since I have started the diet and continue to lose on average 4 lbs a week. I personally would be very bored with the diet if I coudn't have a bar. If my weight loss slows I might choose to eliminate them, but again this would be my choice.
On another subject...the Lindora bars (which I also use sometimes for variety) are from the same manufacturer. I agree with knowing what the being aware of the ingredients but if they work, why not save a bit of money.
Weigh in today= 141--down 2 pounds! I will take it--last weekend was my parents 50th and we had the most amazing party. I didn't over induldge like I would have before IP, but still let myself have some wine and nibbles of forbidden foods. However, I found I didn't eat half as much and although it tasted great, I didn't need to eat every last bit of it. Major NSV!
I would love to post a picture of before/after, but can't seem to get the file small enough to go on here. Any suggesstions?
Have a great weekend everyone!
Libby that is so AWESOME!! YOU ROCK!
I think you can go to photobucket, upload your picture to there, resize it, save it back to your computer in the new size and then post it here. It isn't as complicated as it sounds. I also have a resize feature on microsoft picture manager software, it is a part of the microsoft photo gallery software package I think. It allows me to resize to a small web format.
Is the dog in the picture yours? Is he a goldendoodle, labradoodle, or standard poo? I have a white standard. The picture of the red you have posted is beautiful!
I saw your pictures just now!! OMG!!!! Can I say that again!! WOW, You look GREAT! So much has changed in you face alone! You both look wonderful!
BROCOLA and LIBBY: Bust shrinkage! Me too! I had a fair amount to lose and have stayed proportioned but, I am right there with you. I so want to see a Dr when I am done for at least a lift! I have gone from a 38ddd to a 34ddd. I am not unhappy with size, I have always wanted to be a 32d (a dreeeaamm - I was a 32dd at 13yrs) so smaller is ok but, I didn't take into account the shift in address!

BevS - you mentioned somewhere that you have been making stuff with Carbquik ...can you share some recipies?
Low-Carb Pancake Recipe
1/6 cup (16g) Carbquik baking mix (bought at health food store)www.carbalose.comYou can also use the same amount of Maple Grove Farms sugar-free pancake mix (bought at Kroger's), but it would add another 1 1/2 grams of carb.
1/6 cup (14g) Now natural whey protein isolate www.netrition.com
sprinkle of stevia
1 tsp. melted coconut oil or grape seed oil
2 Tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon vanilla,
1 egg white, beaten with fork until frothy
Combine first 3 ingredients. Add oil, water, and vanilla and mix. Add beaten egg white. Preheat pan. Use a little PAM to keep from sticking. I use the same pan I melt my coconut oil in. Pour 1/4 of mixture into pan at a time. Cook until bubbly on top. Flip and cook another minute or so. Makes 4 medium pancakes. Net carbs = 1 1/2 g.; protein = 22 1/2 g.
Serve with your favorite no-carb syrup or topping.

You can also make a chocolate cake similar to angel food cake using the above recipe, plus adding 1/2 Tablespoon baking cocoa and reducing the water to 1 Tablespoon. Spray a Pyrex ramekin or microwavable large coffee cup with PAM. Pour batter in cup. Microwave for 1 minute. Let sit for 5 minutes. Top with Walden Farms caramel dip or topping of your choice. The cocoa adds 1 carb gram.
Yesterday was good, I didn't feel very hungry until I got home from work and then I was famished. I stayed in control though and had my 5 ounces of chicken my two cups of veggies and my water. Later I tried the chocolate pudding but could only get through about half of it, I just couldn't stomach the fibery chalky taste, maybe I did something wrong with it.
This morning I choked down my handful of vitamins and then opted for the Wildberry yogurt drink for breakfast. I've had 24 oz of water so far. I'm fighting off a bit of a headache. Then....I walked by the kitchen where someone was toasting a bagel and the smell made me weak in the knees now all of a sudden I feel hungry.
NOPE, you did it RIGHT! It is chalky tasting. Has a very low amount of sweeteners in it. Try adding 1 to 3 peppermint extract drops and 1 more splenda to the water, mix that then add the chocolate powder. It makes a chocolate mint pudding and kills the chocolate taste.
What a great day already ! I weighed in at 178 lbs this morning ! I finally made it to the 170's . I can't beleive it . Also today is my daughters 15th bday . WOW!!! How long have you been on the diet again??? You are flying through the pounds? What are you doing for a typical week? What do you think is helping you most?

Sorry I had to vent....have a great weekend!
Band Mom - recent research on the diet has come out showing that people are falling in and out of ketosis when they are eating restricted items everyday. People are using much more sweetner and extras than the diet originally intended and that combined with restricted items is causing people not to be able to stay in ketosis.
Without ketosis this is a starvation diet as we are only consuming about 700ish calories per day and that's not what IP is advocating - so in order to combat that, coaches are now being told to recommend that in the beginning to get deep in to ketosis clients should avoid restricted items, and after a few weeks they are allowed to have a couple a week as a treat.
That's where the variation comes from. Also, IP is doing regional training sessions to try to standardize the care clients are receiving and the information they are being given
