Thanks for the comment - I'm not sure why I'm sending out a 404 error...I'm working on it!

Maybe it's 10 not 100??
At my consultation the nurse told me that it takes 6 weeks of being totally on plan, no cheats, to reset the pancreas. hmmm....would love to know what is correct.

That's how I feel, too. Once in awhile, not regularly.

Food has been my number one comfort for longer than I can remember so it turns out I get cranky quickly without it. Still glad to be here and in the open, FINALLY!
Glad you decided to join in on the fun! Where at in Montana do you live? I grew up in the southeast corner.

That happened to me too. I went back to try again and it was there.

Hi Everyone-

I am on week 6 and for the past week have experience stomach pains after I eat an IP food. It is really weird since I have had no problems up to now. I am hoping it will go away soon since I am really committed to this program. I have lost 23 lbs so far and would like to lose another 32 by the end of August. I can't even imagine eating any other way...I haven't had even an urge to cheat and I don't want some stomach pains to screw up my plans!
Any advice??

That happens to me sometimes too! Weird, huh? I need to pay attention to when it happens. I wonder if, for me anyway, it is when I chug the smoothies to fast?

You also enter your food diary online so you and the remote coach can look at what you've been eating if you have a week you think was good or bad. You can definitely do the diet with other stuff, but I really liked having access to the site, and now that I'm in maintenance, I still use the daily food diary to enter what I'm eating to track it. And my coach has been great at responding to my emails and phone calls whenever I had a question, she sent me a lot of great info that wasn't on the site, that I've asked for, and goes to the clinical pharmacologist for IP for me to ask specific questions if she can't answer them.
Sorry. I didn't mean to sound insulting, and I am obviously ignorant of the level of support provided. Sounds better than my clinic! I thank you for correcting me, and I am very glad to hear about the benefits they offer, since I just sent my sister and her husband that route! I guess I am just confused about why someone would sign up with them, then use other products... do they not have an issue with that?

Thanks!
I'm on vacation without my book, but it seems I remember reading in Dr. Tran's book The Unbalanced Diet that it doesn't take long at all to reset your pancreas. The diet was originally meant to be of short duration, just a couple of weeks, wasn't it?

I don't know, but they are much more expensive at Lindora than they need to be. The only thing I'd buy from there is the potassium. The rest of the supplements I get from www.ourhealthcoop.com. They are very reasonably priced there. Get their multi-vites without iron, liquid calcium (and magnesium), and fish oil (1000 mg).

Reading some of the threads, I am thinking taht maybe its because I am not taking the salt intake very seriously. Could that be it or is this feeling of stupid competence in my head going to pass in a few days.

cheers (not that I can drink)
You do need to take the salt every day, and it is serious. But on day 3 you'd probably feel a bit off anyway. It usually takes a few more days to feel good. Be sure to take all your supplements. Including the fish oil.

Thank you for posting this, now that I'm in phase 4, maintenance, I'm not really working with my coach anymore, Still have IP vitamins and am taking half the IP dose, but I wanted to keep vitamins in my diet when I run out of IP so it is good to know what everyone else uses. I know I've seen ourhealthcoop.com mentioned a lot Is it a specific brand at all for each of the products? Is there a good potassium supplement on ourhealthcoop or is Lindora the best inexpensive one?

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound mean, I just love my remote coaches, they've been so helpful. And the main reason to sign up with them is to get the food and the coaching. As we all know, IP is only available through a coach, so this is a way to access IP without having one nearby. It would make complete sense for the coaches to have an issue if someone signed up and uses other products, they wouldn't have any reason to believe that person is following plan, their weights and measurements are actually true, etc. It would be a complete waste of the remote coach's time, just like when someone signs up for IP in a clinic, buys little to no food, and still expects the coach to help them. If someone mixes other products with IP, at least half and half, I would think most coaches would be ok, probably similar to idealtogo, but at the same time, part of the cost of the food includes their services. From what I've read on the board, most people here paid for an initial consultation, and then just the food after that. If that is the case and you're not buying the food, you're devaluing what your coach is doing, so it would make sense to me if they get upset. If they charge for the weekly weigh-in, that's completely different.

I know one of the reasons I got so much support on Idealtogo is that I asked for it, I called or emailed my coach whenever I had a question I couldn't figure out easily. I asked how they reviewed my food, weight, etc. Just as in school, education, learning, or anything that is coached or taught, the more you put in, the more you get out. That's why I have such a great opinion of my coaches, they were so responsive whenever I needed help, and if one was going to be away, they let me know and made sure I could reach the other.

I feel so bad! I seem to be creating confusion regarding the 90 – 100 day thing. I was told it by my coach so, I will try to get the back up from him and share it. Sorry I can’t do anything sooner.
I enjoy your posts too! I enjoy everyone’s! I miss seeing some of the people who were on when I started. I don’t know, maybe they are on the alternate plan thread now. I try not to read that one. I am not ready for it and I know there is a lot of cross over talk with the other products. I don’t have a problem with each of us choosing what works but it is confusing for me to remember some of the advise is for those using a different plan or groups of products.
Gotta run for now! I need to work on dinner and check on draining my pool We are having a short cold snap in Arizona (60’s the next 2 days and we were in the 90’s) so, I want to take advantage and reset the pool water for summer.
Please don't feel bad, we all share what we are told so it is to the best of our knowledge. You are WONDERFUL!

Musta been something in the air, but yesterday, people were coming up to me left and right telling me how great I looked, asking how I lost the weight, etc! Trying not to let it get to my head, but enjoying the moment and feeling proud! 5 weeks on this sucker and just about 15lbs down!

Also, I started mixing Lindora stuff into my plan and it's fine. Tastes fine and the scale is moving in the right direction! And I saved a couple of bucks!!

Have a great day!

Hey, everyone. Lindora is having a four-day sale on their bars. They are 30% off so the caramel nut bars which are usually $13.50 are $9.45 for the next few days. They are exactly the same (same manufacturer) as IP. $9.45 beats $27 per box any day.

Hi, babs, Our Health Co-op is the brand. I don't think they have a good potassium supplement. When I got my quick-start package from IP, it even had Our Health Co-op's supplements in the kit instead of their own. So I bought them direct after that at quite a savings. The only IP supplement in the bag was the potassium. Lindora is the only one I've seen in tablet form rather than powder. You have to take 2 of them a day. Since their diet plan is so similar to IP's, I assume that amount is acceptable.

Good morning ladies and gents, so I wanted to share my new found love for Ip...ready?

As you may recall I had the weekend from **** when it comes to food, and by weekend I mean more like 4.5 days. I mean Pizza, Pasta, bread, Burritos, chips and, dare I say, even a small blizzard from DQ! (it was my Fiance's Bday and since he can eat and eat and eat and not gain an ounce it was on... and he feels guilty if he is eating and I'm not so...that was in part my gift...felt guilty but did it)

So needless to say I looked at the scale and had gone up like 5 lbs YIKES! Yesterday was my first day FULL ON IP again....I AM BACK DOWN! Only 1 pund more to my last weight WOW.

I am not advocating cheating by any means but MAN am I glad I was able to drop so quickly again... that would have been a DISASTER!

Yes I had the excruciating headaches again yesterday and last night, all the "good" stuff you get when beginning IP but today it showed on the scale

Hope I lose a few more by tomorrow so I can still report a loss, though minuscule, from last week.

Shame on me for cheating, I could have been 5lbs less this week But at least I'm back on track
