Hello! We have our grandson for the day, he came last night and spent the night. We were going to go to the river and have a picnic breakfast but it is raining! The weather report never mentioned a chance of rain! :(

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I am having everyone over on Sunday for a cookout and to swim for the fourth. Tom is off today and Monday, so it should be fun. Unfortunately there is something wrong with our very old cat and Tom is beside himself with worry. May have to make a trip to the vet.

SOLLY: have a great trip!

TONI: I am sorry you have to have that eye surgery. I hope and pray it goes well. Thank God for modern medicine! (sometimes! ;) )

Toni48 07-02-2010 12:29 PM

Good morning. Went to dinner last night and I blew it big time. But I'm going to let that go and start fresh today. The woman that used to clean my house was there and she noticed I've lost weight. It made me feel so good. Had such a nice time. We're going to be watering their garden when they're gone for two weeks on vacation so we'll be getting lots of goodies out of it I'm hopeing.

Ellen- How fun to have the Grandson. I would love to have mine little again. I miss that. We're going to put chicken on the rotissare Sunday and have also have a fire in the evening in our fire pit.

Toni48 07-05-2010 11:22 AM

Had a really nice fourth of July week end. We stayed home and grilled and sat out on the porch. Watched movies and just really enjoyed ourselves. Hope you all had a good one. Time to get back to the regular routine of life now. LOL....

Ellen 07-05-2010 04:42 PM

Yesterday was totally chaotic around here. My two daughters came with their husband, child and dog. So, two kids, two dogs and lots of adults. Then one of them invited two friends over to watch them shoot off fireworks in our cul de sac. My one daughter's inlaws came too. One of the dogs chased my poor cat across the yard when it got here and I have not seen the cat since. I am very worried about him. He is very skittish and I am sure he was frightened to death of all the noises with the fireworks last night. I like dogs, but I think its unfair of them to bring their dogs to my house when I have two cats. I will probably feel better about it all if and when my cat comes home. He usually comes if I call him, but not today.

We grilled tuna and beef kabobs and had roasted corn on the cob and salads yesterday. The food was good, and I even ate a little tuna. Tom went off with our son in law and his step dad to the shooting range. We have a small group meeting from church tonight, but I think he forgot and I have no way to get in touch with him. Oh well! Our son in law is loaning us a car he has that is an extra which will help tremendously until we find a car to replace the one that died.

I may go take a dip in the pool in a few minutes. I went to the cool market I love with our son in law's mom and had lunch and did a little shopping. It was fun. She is where he got his love of cooking. (her son is the chef son in law!) We had a good time chatting about the odd ingredients they carry. She was very good about only getting what she needed. She laughs that she is very frugal. It sounds better than cheap! She is a good person for me to hang around with. Maybe I will pick up some pointers on saving money! ;)

Ok, off to take that dip in the pool....

Toni48 07-06-2010 05:24 PM

Got on here late today. I put up some more corn today. Wish I could get ahold of some green beans now would love to can them. Its such a shame we don't have a Farmers Market near by. I don't have a garden so depentant on the grocery stores. Did find some fresh green beans and new potatoes for over the week end. Tonight we're having some beans I had made and put in the freezer. Also I've got a fresh tomato that is ripe on the vine. I have a couple of tomatoes in pots on the back porch.

Ellen- I'm so happy you got your run away kitty back. Sounds like you had a wild fourth. I would be unhappy with the dogs. We try to hard to leave our little dog at home. I've never had grilled tuna and would love to try it.

Happy Day everyone....

patricia54 07-06-2010 05:49 PM

Anyone doing Sugar Busters?

Is there anyone here that is doing Sugar Busters? I think I have got to try this.I have got to get the white stuff out of my diet. Any advice on this way of eating would be helpful. Thanks, Patricia

Toni48 07-06-2010 05:57 PM

Yes I am and so are the people on here. Some change it around a tiny bit. Staying away from the white stuff is great. And picking lower GI foods too.

Ellen 07-07-2010 08:09 PM

Hello! Today was Weigh in Wednesday. I stayed the same. I was hoping for a loss, but maybe next week!

Today was Open Pool Day here, and I have a ton of moms and kids in the pool. I love it, but it wipes me out! They all were gone by 4, and I just vegged until Tom got home. Then I had to go into over drive figuring out a quick dinner. I broiled a couple Dr. Praegger's patties for me, and made Tom curried chicken patties.

PATRICIA: I do a vegan Sugarbusters... I watch the GI of foods, but I am following a special program that is supposed to help Type 2 diabetes. We have a few on vacation right now, but there are a small handful of us who are the old Sugar Busters crew. A few years ago, when SB was popular, we had our own large forum area. They down graded us when our numbers dwindled. Its a nice group, so I hope you will join us. As a diabetic I am totally sold on the concept of Sugarbusters. I learned about it years ago from my doctor. (the best doctor I ever had! Wish I could still go to him!) Give it a try! I seriously think it is the best diet for health. Its not too complicated to follow. You just avoid white flour, white rice, white potatoes, beets, and corn. And of course sugar. Don't eat anything that has more than 3 grams of sugar per serving. You can have brown rice, sweet potatoes, whole wheat flour in moderation. You can find a list of the glycemic index of foods on line. Mendosa's website has one. Choose foods that are low in GI. Beans and lentils are good- chana dal, a type of chickpea is really low, high in protein and filling. Most veggies are low. Fruits you have to watch. Bananas, pineapples, watermelon are high. They convert to sugar in the blood stream very quickly and raise insulin levels. Berries, peaches, apples are better. Feel free to ask questions...we love to help!

TONI: Do a web search for your area for farmers with pick your own, or farm stands where you can get fresh produce. You don't live in a big metropolitan area, so you should be able to find some. I live in a very urban area, yet there are TONS of places to go for fresh produce all around me. Most farm bureaus post the info, and there are Pick Your Own websites galore. Good luck! Most of the pick your own places will also pick it for you for a slightly higher price.

Toni48 07-07-2010 09:57 PM

Oh darn I forgot to weigh in. I'm kind of not looking forward to it. I've had a rough week and made poor choices. I did get lots done today. Including the laundry. Tomorrow I have some bell peppers to chop and put in the freezer.

Ellen- Staying the same was good. I guess you had a really busy day with all the swimmers. How nice of you to do that. We don't have a farmers market close by. You would have to drive quite aways. I did luck out and some friends are having us water there garden while they're away a couple of weeks in return for produce. I can't wait.

Its really hot here with no rain for us..... Its so very dry.

Ellen 07-08-2010 10:30 AM

Morning! I got up early and walked today. I am trying to psych myself into getting into the habit of doing that every morning again. I need it. I made a tofu scramble for breakfast with onions and mushrooms and some nutritional yeast. It was better than I thought it would be! I put half of it in the fridge for tomorrow's breakfast. I think I need some toast or something with it, so I will have an elevensies in a bit! ;)

I am having some computer/internet issues...things are not loading very quickly. Drives me nuts! (oh, wait...that is just a short walk for me...)

TONI: Check online! There may be farms around you that you don't even know about. Seriously! I could not believe the places I found when I was looking online. There were small family farms where you could go that have no signs up, they just advertise on the farm bureau web sites.

Ellen 07-08-2010 10:36 AM

TONI: Here ya go...check out this web page..it has places listed by county.
http://www.pickyourown.org/MO.htm

Toni48 07-08-2010 11:30 AM

Ellen- That you I found a place about 40 minutes from here. Hope I get to try it soon. Thank you so much for the information. That site you found is loaded with good stuff. I need to get up and walk on the treadmill and get in a routine too. Its just to hot out to try it here. And will be like that for a couple of months. Do you still go for your swimming work out?

Well I weighed today and am up a lb. Darn it..... I knew it wasn't going to be to good. Another week now to do right.

Mercee 07-08-2010 02:08 PM

Hi Ladies!

I am still around. I was on vacation for 2 weeks and got some rest. I went to the Dr. yesterday and all of my numbers are great except my A1c. This is crazy for me. I walk 3.6 miles 4 days a week. I am getting frustrated. I decided along with my doctor to watch everything I eat and to write it down. She gave me some suggestions hoe to change my meds around. I was having lows because of all the walking but I have lost weight and everything else has improved dramatically. I am going to start to exercise everyday except Sundays and see what happens. Sorry to get on here and rant. I just needed to share. I hope all is well with everyone hee. I will talk to you ladies later.

Ellen 07-08-2010 03:08 PM

TONI: Since I did not have a car, I have not been going to the aquatic center for the class, but I HAVE been spending 30 or so minutes doing a workout in my pool.
MERCEE: I hear ya on the frustrations of the A1C. I was eating only lean meats and veggies and my blood sugar was still climbing. I hate the vegan low fat diet, but I have to admit it has helped me. Not as dramatically as I could hope for, but I am giving it a chance for a few more months. :) If nothing else, the walking and weight loss you are doing will help. Hang in there!

CountryMom4Him 07-08-2010 04:16 PM

Shame shame shame

I can not seem to get it right this year. As you can see from the ticker I"m up a LOT. I'm gonna try to catch up with everyone and be a good participant yet again. ((Everybody))

By the way you can't imagine how hard it was to put that number on my ticker. A far cry from the 149 when I joined the group years ago.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Toni48 07-08-2010 10:44 PM

We're the same weight Crystle. I'm not doing good either.

Ellen 07-09-2010 09:23 AM

Come on, ladies! You can do it! You recognize the problem, and want to make progress. Pat yourselves on the back and start moving forward. My father in law used to say, "Can't never could do nothin'!" when his kids would say 'I can't!'. Here is the thing- if what you are doing isn't working, change it up! Are you bored with what you are eating? Scour the internet for new recipes to try. Are you overly tempted by foods you can't have that are in the house for the family?? Don't buy them! They don't need unhealthy stuff either. Plan meals. Pull out a piece of paper and write in one column what you have on hand, then make meals to use that stuff in another. Post it on the fridge. It helps me to rotate stock, and not spend too much on groceries. Tell yourself, nothing tastes as good as thin feels. And move. Walk in the early morning hours when its cool. (I can say that cause I went for a walk the last two days...I need to keep taking my own advice there.) I am not an expert, and look how long I have been at it with only moderate results. What really is a motivator for me is the horrible health issues that are starting for me. I wish I had started addressing these things ten years ago in a real fashion...or even 15. Instead I played at Atkins, and justified eating bacon, and olive oil. I just hope I am not too late to see real improvement.

Ok, off the soap box. Love you two, and I want to see you happy and successful.

Got in another walk today. Having internet problems helped. There is nothing else I want to do but play a few games on Facebook, and I can't. I guess I ought to clean the house, and work on my new studio room. Wah! I have crops wasting online though....

:grouphug:

Toni48 07-09-2010 11:50 AM

Good morning. We were totally blessed yesterday with some fine rain. We're in a drought here in my town and we got some wonderful wetness. Not allot but some that wet the ground. Its a little over cast today, so here's hopeing. We had taco salads for dinner last night. I used light sour cream and only the salsa for the dressing.

Ellen- Thank you so much for the talk. You are right and I was so on track but have wondered off so it was like a kick in the pants to hear you. Back to eating right. Today I'm making a healthy macaroni salad with whole wheat pasta. So I'll have something as a side for our grilling this week end. You are doing great on the walking. Keep up the good work. Sorry about your Internet or computer being slow. Save those crops.....

Crystle- Hang in there with me girlfriend. Just keep coming here. That's the important thing.

Mercee- Been missing you. I wondered where you were. Sorry you're having trouble.

Well going to drink my coffee. Have a good day....

CountryMom4Him 07-09-2010 05:14 PM

Good afternoon.

Not a lot to talk about today. Trying to move more and eat better. I did enjoy a nice hot piece of sourdough bread this afternoon. I had a fried egg sandwich made with one slice of bread for breakfast. A serving of meatloaf for lunch and the the bread a short bit ago. Drink as been coffee and one coffee milk made with skim milk.

There are sweet cakes in the house and I have ZERO urge to mess with them and haven't since they have been here. Now the chips that were in the house, a whole nother story. Salty foods are such a weakness for me. As much as I would like to not bring them in he house that is truly not an option. I just have to use self control and not take the first bite as I know they are triggers. Even eating correctly it is getting harder and harder to maintain my weight. Not sure if it is age or from poor eating habits over the years. Oh well, I guess I'll figure it out if I truly eat correctly for more than a day or two in a row.

Toni...so glad you finally got some rain. With the tropical things that came in below Texas we have had a lot of rain the last couple of weeks. But no complaints. We were getting close to drought conditions.

Ellen..awesome on your cucumbers. Do you ever make refrigerator pickles out of them? I love them with balsamic vinegar and a bit of agave or sugar and just let them sit for a few hours. Yum yum.

Hi Particia! Sugar Buster is a great way to eat. When I was on plan and doing things the right way I lost 85 pounds and kept it off for over 4 years and then I blew it. One suggestion that I have is be strict without little cheats as they will only set you back. Of course everyone is different. God bless and hope this works for you.

Solly...how are you?

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Toni48 07-09-2010 10:33 PM

Oh boy the garden that we're watching gave me a zucchini and a tomato. Theres going to be lots of tomatoes. My cherry tomatoes are starting to get red too.

Crystle- I can just smell that bread. Yum...

kris2008 07-11-2010 10:21 AM

Just thought I'd say hi! I've Sugar Busted off and on for years - since the book first came out - I think it is the healthiest way to go. I sometimes have trouble if I'm not actually counting something, so I have ventured off to WW or calories sometimes. But eating all the food groups with correct portions, eating real food to fuel your body and build your health is the best way to approach what we eat. No counting or measuring, just portions and stopping when you are satisfied, not full to bursting. The "not eating to bursting" is my hardest task. Glad to meet you guys -

CountryMom4Him 07-11-2010 11:44 AM

Howdeeee

Good morning. I ate a few no no's yesterday but I did stop when I was full and didn't over indulge. We went the whole day without eating and by the time dinner rolled around the chips and salsa looked real good...okay they tasted real good also. By the time the entree rolled around I was getting full but I did eat the rice and beans, gave my chillie relleno to my hubby. When they had pizza snacks later in the even I just tasted one. Pretty good if I say so myself. I made them on those flat whole wheat tops with spiced tomato sauce, lean ham, mushrooms and cheese. I cooked them in the cast iron skillet. In the future I'm sure I'll be making them again and maybe adding a salad so it will be more of a meal than a snack.

Hello Kris..nice to meet you. I love the idea of stopping before you are bursting. That is what I've been working on this week. I'm trying to tell myself just because it is good doesn't mean I have to over indulge I can have some more later. For the most part it is working. I did have to have a second tiny slice of sourdough toast this morning. :dizzy:

Toni..the bread came out so good and makes the BEST toast. The good thing is that it is a smaller loaf so if I cut it thin enough I'm not getting that much bread. Except for last night's indiscretion I've been doing really good with staying away from no-no's. The scales are already moving. Hope they are still down come weigh-in. Awesome on your veggies.

Ellen...Thanks for all of your encouragement. It really helps. I hit that place where my weight was affecting my mood and knew something had to change. As long as I'm eating right and moving if the scales don't move I can at least know I'm trying. Only two walks this week because of the rain but two was more than none right? :D There was a treadmill beside the road last night but it was too late to stop. Gonna ride by this morning and hope it is still there. If it doesn't cost too much hubby will let me get it.

Solly...I just read you were on vacation. Looking forward to when you get back.

((Everybody)) You ladies totally ROCK!

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Toni48 07-11-2010 01:58 PM

I haven't had a great week end. I guess cause it was my birthday I cut myself a little slack. But am back on track as of now. Need to plan something for dinner. But I'm hitting a blank. I've got a ton of macaroni salad made with whole wheat macaroni so have a good side.

Kris- Welcome to the board. We're glad to have you. I agree with you about Sugar Busters being a well rounded way of eating. I'm losing slowly after straying off of it and fighting my way back. Finding out that it is really the healthy way of eating. I fight the same thing about stopping when I've had enough and not trying to clean my plate just cause its there.

Crystle- I ordered some sour dough starter. I know with SB we can have sour dough bread so I'm excited to see if I can still make good bread. Its been about 30 years. Love the idea of making those pizza's and having a meal from them. I'll have to try them.

Ellen 07-12-2010 12:02 AM

Aw, TONI! :balloons: Happy Birthday, a day late! I am sorry I missed it. I used to have a list, and I don't know what I did with it! I hope you had a nice day.

Ellen 07-12-2010 10:18 AM

Morning! I slept fairly poorly last night. Not exactly sure why...then my husband woke me up early to tell me something before he left for work. sigh.... I might take a nap. I did go for a walk this morning. I am trying to get back into the habit, and its been hard! It was 81 when I went out, but it felt more like 91! It was very humid already. Tomorrow, I will try and get out there earlier.

I think I will clean out my kitchen cabinets today. I just feel like decluttering and I really need to take advantage of the feeling!

Toni48 07-12-2010 12:28 PM

Howdy all. I stayed up really late last night so slept in this morning. I've got to quit doing this. I need to get to bed earlier. Especially tonight cause I have cateract surgery tomorrow and have to be there early.

Ellen- Good job on the walking. My goodness 81 is hot to walk..... Thank you for the Birthday wish. I had such a nice day.

check back in later.....

Mercee 07-12-2010 02:11 PM

Hi Ladies:

Particia - Welcome!! This a great place to post. I hope you enjoy it here as much as I have.

Country- I'm glad you are back on the wagon. Don't be so hard on yourself. Just keep going.

Toni- I missed talking to you guys when I was gone. I am feeling much better and realize I have to just keep going no matter what. I will be hiting the trail today.

Ellen- Thanks for the encouragement. We really need you here. I appreciate you knowledge so much.

Solly- I hope you are enjoying your vacation.

I have to go now. Have a great day everyone!!! Let's stay focused!!!

Solly 07-12-2010 02:32 PM

Hi ladies, back from vacation and I really didn't want to come back. After spending so much time with my baby, I am really missing him now. We had a wonderful time. Didn't see any oil so that was a good thing. Did lots of eating though. I am ready to get back on track. I just told my DH that we are going to start walking at night. I really bummed me out that I couldn't walk the beach much at all with my back and leg. One day I waited until around noon and we walked about a mile. I just can't do it until midday. The baby had a nice birthday. Most kids play in the cake, not himj, he ate it and wanted more. He is definately a good eater.

Mercee, glad you had a nice restfull vacation. Hope you find a way to get your numbers going down. You walk so much and you are seeing results in your clothes. Don't worry about that scale.

Crystle, glad you got the :tread:. Now the trick is to use it. Mine is sitting in the basement.

Toni, good luck on your surgery. I will keep you in my prayers. Happy belated birthday. :hat:

Ellen, I loved your little talk. You hit the nail on the head.

Kris, welcome to our group. SB is a very good way of life. Almost every diet you see now days is incorporating the SB principals. No whites, no sugar, etc. It's healthly all around. I too intend to eat until I burst.

Got to run, lots to catch up on here. Talk to you tomorrow.

Toni48 07-12-2010 03:29 PM

Oh boy Welcome home Solly, you've been missed. Glad you had such a nice time. It was good you got the walk in. Sorry you having so much trouble with your back and leg. But sure do admire you for the fact you keep on trying.

Mercee- Good for you! Bet you're losing inches...

CountryMom4Him 07-12-2010 04:03 PM

Good afternoon

Howdy ya'll. I finished putting up a couple of quarts of figs for the boys this afternoon. I ate some before I put all the sugar and stuff in them. I LOVE figs. Jessie helped me bring in the treadmill and get it all set up. It is at the foot of the bed. It takes up most of the space that the bed doesn't but that is okay. There is enough room to walk around it and it is in a handy place. I have the tv and ac in there. I'm gonna try it out this evening. Would have used it this morning but with the preserves and company I really didn't have the time. I have some okra that needs picking and I'm just putting that off. It is 92 and oh so muggy out there.

Solly...so glad you are back. Really sorry to hear your back and leg are bothering you. You'll get back in the swing of eating right now that you are back home.

Toni..happy Belated Birthday!!!!! Praying your surgery goes well tomorrow.

Mercee...thanks for the encouragment. I think one of the things that drives me nuts is allowing the weight to come back again. I've lost a large amount of weight three times in my life. Granted I didn't gain it all back this time I did gain quite a chunk. Each time I swear it won't happen again. Prayerfully it will come off one more time and I'll actually maintain it. Awesome you are getting back to your walking trail.

Ellen...good luck with the declutter. I went through that the other day. Robert thinks I'm nuts when I rearrange the cabinets but it is the only way that I feel they are really clean. You have to get all the old stuff out of there. Plus having slight ocd's doesn't help. :dizzy:

((Everybody))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Solly 07-13-2010 11:02 AM

Good morning ladies, It is a rainy day here. But we need it, my front grass is brown and like straw. Cooler today but the heat is due back tomorrow.

Crystle, glad you got that :tread: set up and ready to go. It does help having a TV close by. Sounds like your garden is flourishing.

Toni, praying for a successful surgery.

Ellen, though about you last night. DH put some eggplant on the grill. Neither I nor my DD like it. It really didn't have much of a taste, nothing I could place anyway.

Mercee, did you get to walk last evening? I wanted to try but my girls played volleyball and it was the late game plus I could hardly walk so I will try tonight hopefully.

Chris, hopefully, you are having success so far on SB. Let us know how you are doing.

Got to run. Have a great day.

Mercee 07-13-2010 12:23 PM

Morning ladies:

Solly-Welcome back and I am glad you enjoyed your vacation. I did get may walk in last night on the trail and tonight I will walk on my treadmill.

Crystle- I hope you are able to get on your treadmill today.

Toni- I pray everyhting went well with your surgery and that you are resting.

Have a great day everyone. I have to get back to work now.

Toni48 07-14-2010 11:49 AM

Thank you for all the well wishes. Surgery went fine. My eye is still blury today but supposed to be fine tomorrow. I'm sure glad its over. I'll write more tomorrow.

Solly 07-14-2010 02:09 PM

Hi ladies, Well I mustarded up courage to get on the scale today. Something must be wrong with it. I was at 182 which I haven't seen in a long long time. I sure don't feel like 182 nor do my clothes reflect it. DH thought it was wrong also. I go to the oncologist on Friday so we will see what theirs says.

Toni, so glad your surgery went well. Get some rest and don't tire your eyes.

Mercee, Well as much as I wanted too, I did not attempt to walk last evening. I had been nauseus all day (and again today) so I hit the couch after dinner and stayed there. If I feel better I will try tonight. I think it may be the Cymbalta doing it. I missed it a few days on vacation and since I started back regularly, I have been sick. Hopefully it will pass soon. Good job getting your walk in.

Ellen, I know it is swim day. Have fun.

Everyone else:  hope you are having a great day.

Mercee 07-14-2010 05:20 PM

Hi ladies:

Toni- I am happy your surgery went well.

Solly- I hope you are feeling better today. I hope the weightloss sticks.

Have a great day ladies. I had a busy day at work so I am tired. I will check in tommorrow.

Ellen 07-15-2010 08:01 AM

Morning! Yesterday was pool day here, but I did get on the scale and was shocked to see I had broken through the plateau I was on with a two pound loss! I am really getting into an area that I have not seen on the scale in years and years. Its exciting.

Tom got me up early this morning to walk. I have not gone yet. He keeps wandering in and trying to 'encourage' me to go...but I have had some tummy/gi trouble and I am not sure I want to chance it going for a walk. I thought I would give it a little while - but as I do the temps are climbing. Its going to be in the 90's today, and is already 80.

Yesterday, I cajoled my grandson into trying to jump off the diving board. He has wanted to do this for a while, but has chickened out each time. Well, he told me I could hold my hands out and catch him. So, I got on the slope of the side and held out my hands. He jumped about two feet short of me, but once he came up out of the water, holding a noodle, he broke into a big grin and kicked over to me saying, "I did it! I did it!" I am sure you know what I did for the next hour and a half....yep, kept an eye on him as he jumped off the diving board, over and over and over. He was exhausted when my daughter got here to get him, but he was not cranky. He was still excited over it.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! I will be back to do replies....

Toni48 07-15-2010 11:54 AM

Good morning all. I'm finally seeing clear this morning. Next step will be to get new glasses but have to wait till I heal some more. My eating hasn't been good. But hopefully with this all over I'll be back on track. I let DH spoil me and do some of the cooking. I got cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini and a bell pepper out of the garden last night. Yummy. Also got these little peppers that aren't hot too and they're good stuffed. I'll freeze them for now.

Ellen- What a wonderful time with your Grandson. Thats such a moment to treasure. Sorry you couldn't go for a walk this morning. Its going to be so hot here too.

Mercee- Hope you didn't work to hard.

Solly-Woo Hoo on the scale numbers. Now that is great after your vacation. Keep up the good work.

Crystle- How is the treadmill going?

Solly 07-15-2010 12:42 PM

Morning ladies. Got a late start as I had to go and get an epidural. I have the oncologist tomorrow. Seems like the rest of the month is filled with dr appts.

I did manage to walk the dog around the block last night. That wasn't far but better than nothing. Hopefully with this shot I should be able to walk further tonight.

Toni, glad you are seeing clear today. My friend has eye problems from diabetes and she gets shots in her eyes and had to get new glasses but it took forever due to the diabetes. A friend of ours has been sending cucumbers and squash over. The people behind us have corn in their backyard. I hope they share My poor tomatoes do not look like they are going to ripen.

Ellen, How sweet about your GS. I know it gave him lots of confidence and he will be doing it all the time now. I guess you will have to find another challenge for him.

Mercee. sorry you had such a hard day at work. Hope today is better.

Crystle and Chris, where are you guys?

I have to work tomorrow. I wanted to be off to help my DD with my GS's birthday party on Sunday but we have a bid. Makes me mad. Oh well.

Have a great day.

Oh dear we were supposed to go grocery shopping this morning and I over slept. Did get my corned beef in the crockpot cooking. So maybe today will be productive anyway.

Solly- Oh boy hope you get some of that fresh corn. I love the young tender cucumbers. Think I'll grate one cup measurements of zucchini's for the freezer. I've got three right now. Sorry you have to work today...

Morning ladies:

Solly- Enjoy you GS's party this weekend. I hope you have a great weekend.

Ellen- I am glad you got to enjoy your gradson. Have a great weekend.

Toni-Enjoy you veggies from the garden. Have a great weekend.

Summer is a geat time for me with all the fruits and veggies available. I have a friend with a garden and she brings tomatoes and squash to me at work. I worked out yesterday on my treadmill. It was too hot to walk outside with the heat index it was 102 here. I hope to be able to walk outside today. Walking is great for me, when I went to the the dr my blood pressure was 110/73. Thank God I don't have high blood pressure but my dr was still impressed.

Gota go. Have a great weekend everyone.
