Good morning
Howdy ya'll. Down one pound this week. I know I should be happy but I'm working so hard and the results are so slow compared to last time. The only factor that I see that is different is being older. But I do thank God I'm not gaining. :)
I'm exercising five days a week. If I eat it or taste it it goes into the food journal. Solly...hope you are feeling better. Ellen...the brownies sound interesting. I think I'd like to try them if you can use real eggs. Toni...praying for you this morning. Hope the test go well and quickly. Mercee..praying for you too. Hope you feel better today. Love and hugs, Crystle |
Good friday evening ladies
I'm still dizzy some days worse than others. Maybe I am supposed to feel like this, They never told me what to expect later. I will let it go and see what c omes up next week. I am trying to get dressed and gp to a paint pottery party tonight. The girl is goiling to walk in the breast cazncer 3 day and all the proceeds go to her. My DD said I could jujst sit on a chair. I will see. I need to start moving about some. Toni, I hope all your tests went well. I know y ou are worried about them Keep us posted. Crystle, you will lose, don't pay much attention to that scale. Mercee, I am sorry you are having sinus problems. It sure can make you feel yuky. I had to take 2 z packs to get rid of mone. Elen, brownies sound so good right now. Food hasn't been ver interesting. I have had lots of milkshakes but nothing takes right. Hope you get up and going. I have to wait until my DD brings thecomputer up tp me since I can't go down stairs. So I will be bacl sporadically. I'm not sure when I can go back to work, Take care. Love you guys. |
What a day. We left at 8:00 am and didn't get back till 8 that night. Glad though its all over. I had trouble with the chemical stress test and they had to give me nitro twice and oxygen. But I got it done and the rest of my tests too. The doctor said I'm the same so I'll take that for another year. So today is a day of rest. I'm still in my nightgown and have been lazy all day. Slept in till 11. LOL......
Solly- So sorry you're having such a hard time. I hope the dizziness goes away soon. Crystle- A great big congratulations on the lb. loss. That's so good. Be proud of it. Your body is probably losing inches. |
Oh boy I just ordered a new cookbook from Amazon. I can't wait till it gets here. Its 50 healthy Indian slow cooker recipes. I've been wanting to try some Indian food and I hope this is good and easy. Its supposed to be. We'll see. Hope it doesn't have a bunch of weird stuff I can't get. Its a beautiful day in the Ozarks. Eating hasn't been very good. Hope everyone is having a good week end.
|
TONI: Wish I had known you were interested in trying Indian stuff...that is about all I cook and I would be HAPPY to share recipes! As for weird stuff..if you need weird ingredients you can't find, PLEASE let me know. I have three or four very large, extensive Indian grocery stores near me and I would love to send you a care package! :) The spices I use the most are tumeric, black mustard seeds, cumin, coriander, and aseofitida, or hing. The hing you might not be able to find, but its cheap and comes in a small container so I could easily send you some. Other than the spices, most of the ingredients are quite normal, lentils, dry beans, rice....unless you want to get fancy, then there are odd vegetables, like bottle gourd, and tindora, and curry leaves. Let me know what you think of the book...I am going to have to check it out. Slow cooker recipes would be nice for busy days.

Hi ladies:
I am feeloing better today. Friday I got home form work and worked out then we went to a birthday celebration. Saturday rested most of the day and went ot the gym in the afternoon. Sunday church. Solly - Glad you starting to move around and are feeling better. We miss you here but understand you have to regain your strength and totally recover. Please don't rush yourself in your recovery. Toni- I hope you enjoy your cookbook. Let us know how your rcipes turn out. Crystle- Congrats on you loss. Keep up the good work. Ellen- Is there anything you don't know how to cook. LOL You are so talented. Have a great day ladies. |
Hello all you Sugar Busters. Glad the horrible week end is over. It was bad for my eating and I couldn't seem to stop. I ate candy!!!! Lots of it and am glad to start a new week and a new day. I think I got some sweets some where and it started a binge.
Ellen- Thank you so much. I was hoping I could get the spices somewhere. I've never had Indian food and can't wait to try it. It always sounds so wonderful. Wish we had places around here to shop but that would be a miracle in our little back woods. Mercee- Glad you're feeling better. But don't hurry it up. Solly- Hope you're doing okay. Crystle- How was the week end? |
I am SO proud of myself! The aquatic center was closed last week for the end of the outdoor season cleaning and maintenance. So this morning, I called and found out the new schedule. I suited up and went to the 10am class. I am really excited too! This year they are offering a 10 am class M-Th! Last year it was only M and W. I plan to try and go four days a week. Its only $2 a class, and so close....
I got home, and I am still wandering around in my 'cover up'. I cleaned the kitchen, read the last chapter in my book for small group tonight...excellent book called Prodigal God, I have really enjoyed it... and now I need to wander down and set up my palette and begin working on my commissioned painting. I did the underpainting last night...it doesn't look good, but then it never does to me! lol TONI: Next time you go to Wal Mart, check in the ethnic aisle for Indian groceries. Mine has a fairly good selection of stuff. See if you can find any jars of different kinds of curry pastes with the brand name Patak. Their label is deep pink. I really like the Tikka Masala, or even just plain Tikka pastes. Their mild curry paste is good too. If you like hot spicy stuff, the Vindaloo and Garam Masala are good. Most of them you use by mixing with a little plain yogurt and marinating the meat in it. Then it is sauteed, usually with onions and tomatoes, and served over rice. If you can find a Tandoori paste, you use that with yogurt too, and then you can grill pieces of chicken, fish, or lamb or pork... MERCEE: I am glad you are better. Thanks for the compliment...I do LOVE to cook! :) I used to cater too. I don't know why, but authentic ethnic cooking has always intrigued me. I don't think I will ever be able to travel internationally, so ethnic cooking is kind of my 'poor man' travel method! :) SOLLY: I hope you are doing well. Thinking and praying for you.... COUNTRY: Keep at me on the exercise...I need someone to boot my hiney into gear here....I am SO lazy.... Do you want the quinoa brownie recipe? You can use real eggs if you want. I just don't because I am supposed to avoid them. Off to paint! :) |
Howdeeeeee
Good afternoon ya'll. I'm sitting here eating my lunch so of course I thought of ya'll. Lunch today is red bell pepper, onion, jalapeno in an egg/egg white omelet with some salsa on the top. I'm trying to put my fork down between bites but I waited too long to eat and I almost inhaled the first half. But I"m eating slower now, my fingers are busy on the keyboard. :dizzy:
Okay I know I'm not breaking any world records but I am SO happy with my new personal bests this morning. I walked/jogged a mile in right at 13 minutes. And the best part is I jogged for 2 minutes straight once. I was a dripping soggy mess when I got done. I didn't realize it was 92 outside. I'm glad I was in the shade of the back porch but it was still really really hot. Ellen...I would love the recipe. I have two bags of quinoa and my guys don't really like it. So if I can use it another way that would be GREAT. Awesome on your aquatic center being open more. I know you love the pool. Every day if you think about not doing it just remember: that crazy girl in Texas is gonna ask if I did my workout..LOL :carrot: Toni...hey you! ((hugzz)) Is all that mean old candy gone? It is alright today is a new day, fresh and beautiful. You got this. We all have moments but it is the overall picture that counts. You have been keeping on keeping on and that is all we can ask of ourselves. Mercee...thanks for much for the encouragement. I'm glad you are feeling better. Solly...hope you enjoyed your party and all is getting better. Better get and accomplish something. I've been at SparkPeople most of the afternoon. Love and hugs, Crystle |
Ut oh...twice in one day
Howdy, just poppin' in for a quick post. I left SparkPeople today hoping I can devote more time to this board. Hope I made a wise choice. I'm still going to track my food and exercise just not at that site. It is scary in a way since I was making progress. But I know it is not the site, it is God and the effort I've been putting in.
Holler at ya'll later. Love and hugs, Crystle |
We had small group tonight. I checked my blood sugar levels as I was cooking dinner while waiting on Tom to get home and they were astronomical! I don't understand why, and that really frustrates me. So I ate a very small dinner, with only about 1/4 cup of brown basmati rice, and I am hoping it starts to turn around tomorrow. I ate beans for lunch...with no fat, and no rice, so I hope that will help too. The exercise SHOULD help, which is why I am frustrated that it went up a lot instead of down.
I am sore from the work out this morning. I will see how I feel in the morning, but unless I am dying, I will probably go to class again. I need to make it a habit. I went to bed late last night and I am really tired now, so I am going to head to bed soon. Good night! |
Ellen
Sorry that your levels are crazy high. Are you coming down with a cold or fighting allergies? Do you drink coffee? Are you in a lot of pain? Those are some of the things that raise my mom's and sister's sugar. Praying it was just a fluke and goes back to a healthy level.
Love and hugs, Crystle |
Thanks, Crystle! I have noticed my levels rise when I am sick, and I am a bit congested, but nothing to account for the increase. I DO drink coffee...which is something to think about. I roast my own beans, and so we use different kinds all the time. It may have an influence. I really appreciate the prayers...mine are for wisdom, so I can figure out what is causing it and what to do to solve it. I know the doctor is going to start pushing insulin at me again, and I really don't think that is the answer....
So, in light of that, I am about to suit up and head out to water aerobics again today. Even if it raises the levels, I know in the long run its going to help! :) |
Well finally started walking a bit yesterday. Just to the end of our long driveway and back again. Which is good for me. I hope to build up some motivation.
Ellen- I think we're going to Wal Mart tomorrow and will check what they have. Love the sound of the marinade. Can you use it on chicken as well as beef. I can't even imagine how good it would be to get a handle on my illness like you do and fix what is right and healthy for me. You're such a good role model to what to do for a chronic illness. You're always searching for the answer. Crystle- You are doing so well. Keep up the good work. You really seem to have a handle on the eating and exercise. Solly- Hope you are getting better everyday. Miss your posts. Mercee- Hows the work and exercise going? |
Good morning
One of my typing fingers is out of commission. I grabbed an open can last night and sliced the tip of my finger. Talk about feeling like a goober. :dizzy:
Today's walk/jog went really well. I made a new record: 12 min. 30 sec. for the first miles. The rest of the week I'll just walk or do videos. Gonna work on find us some tips to share again. I know we know most of them already but it is good to see them and have them reinforced. :) Toni...WTG don't ever sell yourself short. Getting out and getting moving is a start and a great one. Having health issues makes it more of a challenge. Thanks for all your encouragement. I could not do this with out ya'll. Some days are such a challenge. Ellen..WOO HOO getting to the water aerobics! Hope you are having a better sugar day today. Solly...hope all is well and you are just not here because you are resting. Really miss ya. Mercee...hope you too are having a good day and not working too hard. Running...if you are still here lurking pop in and say howdy. :) Love and hugs, Crystle |
I went to water aerobics again today..the teacher was a young man. He had us do a LOT of aerobic stuff, like running up and down the pool. My blood sugar was almost 60 points lower after the class, so I was happy.
After my dentist appt. I went and visited my terminally ill neighbor. It makes me so sad to see her in so much pain... She fell yesterday and now she can't walk. They are putting her in hospice care for five days tomorrow to evaluate her condition. :( I need to go paint and finish up a few chores. Will be back later. |
Today is Wednesday...and I know I should have weighed...but based on yesterday afternoons scale revelation, I avoided it. :( Shame on me. I can't explain why my weight popped up a few pounds, but it obviously goes hand in hand with the bg issues...so hopefully, I will get it sorted out soon and get it back where it was.
Feeling kind of down today, thinking of my neighbor. I am off to the outlet mall near here to find a tea kettle, and maybe some linen spray from Bath and Body Works. Will check in later! |
Hi ladies, had along post and lost it. I am not quite sure how my DD’s computer works. She has had the computer downstairs all week studying for the Practix test next Sat. (Say prayers that she passes, she gets histerical if she doesn’t and has to take it agaoin). Something she has to take to ger her teaching degree. So I have not gotten tto post. I came down to pay some bills. I am not supposed to do steps yet. I went back to the dr yesterday, a week early, to see if he could tell me why I am so dizzy. He has never seen anything like this before. The only thing we can think is the anesthesia. Me and another ladiy both were throwing up for 2 days so he thinks I may have gotten too much. He did another xray of my neck and it was fine and he did a CT scan of my head. He thought I had a stroke, but the good news was that I had not and the bad news he did not know what was wrong. So he gave me some steroids (medro-dose pack) and a dizzy pill that you take on a cruise so we will see if that helps. I go back next thrusday. Please pardon all my typing mistakes (especially Crystle) as this machine is different and I don’t feel like going back and checking.
Ellen, maybe the exercise is what you need for your bg. Maybe sleep plays an important role too. Maybe you aren’t getting enough. I am glad you like your aerobics class, Maybe you will go more often now, I feel so sorry for your friend. There is always someone else worse off. I hope she finds peace soon. Toni, Good for you walking dow n your driveway. It is a start and it will help you keep going further and further. I have to laugh at you trying Indian food. I hope you will like it. I don’t have the nerve. I have been having a candy feast. Candy corn is my fav and it is in stock now, Someone brought me some Halloween candy too. I ca’t eat much of good things, but I feast on candy and icecream. At least my icecream is SF and low fat and low fat chocolate milk. Crystle, are doing so good with your walking. Keep it up. You too will only get stronger and go further and faster. I know you are losing inches. Ihope the boys like the brownies. I only use Spark for my food. I never like their exercise program and I don’t get into posting there. Gator Gal really does and she has done so well with her wt too. Mercee, I think you have started an exercise session here and you don’t even know it. Crystle, Ellen and Toni all are getting in your game. I wish I could. My leg kills me half way through the grocery and I have to sit. I want to try to start again as soon as I get better. Off to glance at face book, pay bills and get some lunch I want to try to dust some. All my furniture is horrible. The place is a mess. I have to try to do somethings. Talk to you soon. |
Good Moring Ladies:
I am glad to report I am down 2 pounds. I am excited. I can't wait to get to the gym tonight. This is the most consistent I have been with weightloss and working out in a long time. I am so thankful for the support and encouragement here on this board from all of you. Solly-It's great to see you are on the mend. Stop worrying about the mess you are recovering.:getwell: Ths house will still be there once you are better. Ellen- I am glad that you are enjoying your new class. I'm sure it will help your blood sugars as well. Exercise has totally turned mine around. It is great that you found something that you really enjoy. Toni- Keep up the good work!!! Crystle- Great job keep it up. Well back to work ladies. Have a great day everyone. |
I passed on water aerobics this morning, but the outlet mall is 7/8 of a mile around, and I walked all the way around it. :) I did stop to shop and to talk to a friend I ran into, but when I was walking in between stores I wanted to go to I walked fast. You have to there...there are tons of those carts in the walkways, and they are constantly trying to get your attention and hawk their wares at you. I got cornered by a sweet girl from Israel trying to sell cosmetics with minerals from the Sea of Galilee. All organic...and VERY expensive. It was nail stuff, and while awesome stuff, I NEVER paint or play with my nails.... I am thinking olive oil on my cuticles would be as good as the pricey stuff she was selling....so I put her off with the no money statement, which is true, and walked on...fast. I ignored another one who tried to chase me down with "excuse me! EXCUSE ME!" If they get your attention, it takes for freaking ever to extricate yourself...
I got my tea kettle, and a large baking stone I have been wanting... stopped at Bath and Body Works and got my pillow spray (lavendar/vanilla...makes the sheets smell SO divine!) and rushed home. Time for lunch! I am starving! SOLLY: Great to see a post from you! I am so sorry you are having trouble, but I am very glad they ruled out a stroke. I hope the anti dizzy meds help. I took one when I had vertigo that helped a lot. MERCEE: Yay! Awesome! Congrats on that two pounds! I agree, having something you enjoy doing really helps! I was very faithfully going to water aerobics class last winter and spring, and then they changed the schedule for the summer. bummer! :) Being able to go four times a week this year is so encouraging! I know I will make it at least three times a week now! Off to find some lunch! |
Well I don't know how I did it but I lost 2 lbs. this week. I'm coming down after a sugar kick. But my dinners and stuff have been good. Need more veggies and fruit so tomorrow we're going to Wal Mart. And I hope I'll get more walking in. Thanks to all of you.
Solly-Oh boy I hope your meds. work. I can't imagine being dizzy for a long period of time. You've got such a good attitude about it all. Hopefully as the anastasia wears off so will the dizziness. Ellen- Sounds like you had a good walk. I would love a good walking buddy but my friend that used to walk with me just had hip surgery. Good you got your tea kettle and spray. Along with a good walk. Mercee- Woo Hoo on 2 lbs. A great big congratulations, you deserve it. Crystle- Hows the weather there? Any garden left? Are you still doing sour dough bread? |
Toni- Congrats to you on your 2 pound loss!!! Grat Job.
|
I am at work today. Thinking I can be dizzy at home as well as here. At least I get paid for being here. Tired of using vacation for being sick. DH will pick me up sometimes this afternoon.
Mercee, 2 lbs is great. Exercising sure is helping. Toni, 2lbs is great also. Don't wonder about it, take it. Ellen, glad you got some exercise in today. Keep it up. Crystle, I am very dizzy using the computer so I am getting off. Talk to you tomorrow. |
Hello everyone! I went to water aerobics this morning. Another good workout from the man! Since they offer classes at 10 every day now, the classes seem smaller. Its nice.
I am going to try and find the hospice center and visit my neighbor this afternoon. Her sister told me to come today, because she is declining so fast, tomorrow might be too late. :( Then when I get home I need to head down and feed the dog for them, and let him out for a necessary trip... Hard times. I painted last night. The portrait is looking better, but still has a long way to go. I need to work on the eyes to capture her likeness. I worry about it until it happens...so I am worried now. I keep waiting for my first failure...I would much prefer it did not happen with one someone is willing to pay me for! :) I weighed this morning...I am up two pounds. I need to just own it and move on...so I am. Will check in later! SOLLY: Glad to hear you are at work...don't over do it! Is the medicine helping the dizziness? TONI: Congrats on the loss! Who cares how it happened? :) Just grab it and go! |
Hey ya'll
Sorry I didn't make it to the board yesterday. This week I lost one pound. I keep hoping to have a good week like the old days but I can't seem to get it together. I'm walking/jogging, shooting my bow, mowing and carefully logging what I eat so I just don't know. On a less whiny note I did put on my jeans straight from the line with no sucking or pulling. :carrot:
I did make another account at SparkPeople but I'm limiting my time there. Ellen...I am so sorry about your friend and neighbor. I pray that you get to see her and have a blessed visit before she goes home. May God wrap you in his wings and fill you with his peace. WTG with your water aerobics! :carrot::carrot: You are on a roll. Those two pounds might just be from the change in your workout routine. Toni...you go lady! Two pounds is GREAT! Hope you find awesome veggies at the store to help you get back on track purging the sugar. Mercee...you totally rock! I bet you are noticing some big changes in your clothes and how you feel. You have lost a lot of weight. I am so jealous in a good way. Solly... So sorry that you are still struggling with the dizziness but praise God you didn't have a stroke. Hope work is going well and that you don't overdo. (((Everybody))) Love and hugs, Crystle |
COUNTRY: On my way out the door to the hospice, but saw you post...and stopped and read it. No, as much as I would like to think that a change in workout is the reason, I don't think so. I was rather lax with what I was eating while my sister was here, and I am paying for it. It seems I always have a delayed reaction and it takes a while for my body to put on brakes and change directions. Don't get discouraged with one pound...slow and steady wins the race! If you continue, you will be at goal in less than six months! And slower stays off better.....
|
Just popping in. We went out of town shopping today. Got up real early so I've been so tired all day. Will be just fine with a good nights sleep. Glad to have some fresh apples, asparagus and broccoli. Will write more later....
|
Hi ladies, still dizzy. Looking at this computer and the papers on the desk really makes me dizzy. i used a staight chair today thinking the swivel chair was making it worse, but I don't know. I just wish this would go away or knew what was causing it.
Ellen, the steriods are not helping yet. I have about 3 more days. The dizzy pills don't seem to work at all. I hope your neighbor goes quickly or whatever she needs. Crystle, sounds like you are getting lots of exercise. Keep it up. We are getting older you know. Toni, Did you find your stuff at WalMart? At least you got some good veggies in the house. Mercee, Have a great weekend. Got to run, it is to dizzy to type. Hopefully Monday it will be gone. Have a great weekend. |
Howdy all.... Hope everyone is doing fine. Can't believe this week is about over. I haven't had the best week eating wise so I'm glad to get that behind me. Had a skinny bagel for breakfast with low fat cream cheese. Yuck! Wish I would have had peanut butter on it.
Solly- Darn I'm so sorry you're still having trouble with the dizziness. That has to be so miserable. Hopefully it will go away soon!!!! Guess everyone else is busy. |
Howdy
Eating is still on track. So far I've taken today off from exercise but I'm thinking of mowing for about an hour and counting that as exercise for the day.
I had a new low on the scales today but I'll wait until tomorrow before I count it. Solly...I'm so sorry that you are still so dizzy. You think it may have something to do with your ears? They say fall allergies can be as bad as spring allergies. Praying it goes away. Ellen...I was singing a song this morning and it make me think of your friend. It is called I'll fly away. It is so hard to watch someone suffer, especially someone you care for. Praying for your and their family. Toni..hang in there. You'll be back in full swing before you know it. You are already doing better. I had a half a tuna sandwich and it was yucky. :dizzy: It tasted fishy instead of like nice tuna. Mercee..are you ready for the weekend? Hope you are having a blessed day. Love and hugs, Crystle |
Hello everyone! I had lunch with a friend today at Sweet Tomatoes...its one of those all you can eat salad places. So I had a large plate or two of salad, and I did not use any dressings. I did have a few premade salads too, so don't think I was really good, or anything. I tried their chicken taco soup too. It was good, but not all that great. Fun place to eat though. I was full, but probably not too much bad stuff.
COUNTRY: I know that song. :) The poor dear...the sleepiness and deliriousness are signs of her kidney failure. It won't be long. I took the day off of exercise kind of too. I am thinking of going and jumping in the pool though. Its hot here today! I went clothes shopping after lunch and could not find anything I was interested in. The shop I went to had very youngish, trendy clothing that just was NOT me. Guess I will try someplace else for more 'mature' fashions...I need a church dress! SOLLY: I am praying that dizziness clears up totally and soon! It can be from an inner ear problem. There is a maneuver they can do that helps relieve it. It helped me when I had vertigo. I wonder if it would help you. I need to look up the name of it. According to a friend of mine, dizziness can be from a confusion of some little bones in the inner ear that get out of place. The maneuver puts them back correctly as I understand it. Maybe an ear nose and throat doctor could help you. ((hugs)) TONI: Did you find any Indian groceries at Wal Mart? Have you gotten your book yet? You might like butter chicken.... or Chicken Tikka. Saag is spinach..and its pretty good too. I have seen Butter chicken simmering sauce at Wal mart before.... I hope you are feeling recovered today. |
Ellen- I didn't get my book yet. I wish it would hurry. So we were kind of in a hurry and I'm so mad at myself for not looking for some. But I need a recipe anyway before I know what I need. I think I've seen that graham marsala there.
I hope they are able to make your neighbor comfortable. I'm starting to look for winter clothes here. Just stuff like long sleeve t shirts, sweatshirts and pants. I couldn't even imagine trying to find a dress. |
Good morning
It wasn't a fluke I am down two more pounds for a total of three this week. Just one more pound and I'll be under 180. I haven't been under 180 in over a year so I can hardly wait. It is so funny. I share my weight with ya'll no problem and can't seem to be as transparent in my other weight loss group. I just use pounds lost there. :) I know it is because I love you all and it is safe here.
My extended family finds it a bit odd because I'm avoiding most not all processed foods and not eating as much meat. Don't get me wrong I eat meat but not every meal. Mostly only at super unless I have a tuna sandwich for lunch or I sneak a bite of the guys bacon from time to time. I've also started back on my apple cider vinegar. I truly believe it is so good for us. Today is my lazy day and trust me I am being LAZY so far. :dizzy: Ellen..hope you find that dress you are looking for. A few weeks ago I found the most beautiful blue suit for 3.50 at a resale shop. You would not know that it wasn't new. I also got a couple of shirts I'm hoping to wear this winter. They are tight so I'll have to wear them under other shirts but that is okay. One is paisley and I love love love paisley. That salad spot sounds really neat. There are not a lot of place like that around here. There may be one in Houston but I don't know. Toni...I'm not sure what kind of sweats you are looking for but haines.com has them on sale for 6.99 right now. They usually have reasonable shipping. How is your weekend going so far? I'm having quiet time and it is so nice. Today I'm playing on the computer and vegging. :dizzy: Solly...I pray this weekend is a turning point for you and you begin to feel like your ole self. Mercee...Thinking of you this weekend also. You are rocking on your weight loss and exercise. I can't tell you how much you have encouraged me through what you do and your kind words as I've struggled to get back on track. You ladies ROCK! I'd give each of you a big hug if I could. Hope you have a blessed and restful weekend. Love and hugs, Crystle |
Good Saturday to you all. Its going to be a hot day in our little town today. Maybe its a good day to barbecue. I can't believe I got my hubby to eat a little broccoli this week. His family would be amazed LOL. I had a great day yesterday. I'm hoping I repeat it again today. Only thing I didn't get my walk in. Hopefully this evening. I ate great and didn't have anything after 8 last night. Big for me! LOL....
Crystle- I'm so excited for you. Two more lbs. Man three lbs. this week is wonderful. You are truly an inspiration. I'm wanting so bad to get out of the 190's, I can't even imagine being out of the 180's. Woo hoo..... I was watching Dr. Oz the other day on tv and he's having a 10 lb. challenge and I'm trying for that. Hoping to give me motivation. Thanks for the tip on the sweats. I'm going over to the site as soon as I get off here. Hello Ellen, Solly, and Mercee.... And anyone who's lurking. Come join us. |
Toni
Hey lady! You got this. You are already on the road to dropping those pounds. I think challenges are a great way to motivated us when we feel a little weary. :) Keep up the good work and don't let the weekend trip you up. I figure if I tell you that then I can remember to do the same things. The weekends are getting better but they are still harder than the weekdays. Especially since it is usually the time I don't exercise. I'm doing laundry today so I think that should count. :dizzy:

Tom had to work today for a release that is going in next weekend. He will probably have to work next weekend too. That is three in a row, and I sure hope the give him comp time off! (not that he will ever take it!)
I went to Costco today and ran into an old friend. It was nice to see her, and we did some chatting catch up in the aisle there for 45 minutes! We had mostly leftovers for dinner and I feel very bloated. Something did not agree with me. I am considering switching up my menus and diet. I feel like I have hit a brick wall. No energy, no weight loss, bad blood sugar levels.... No news on my neighbor, she is about the same. They had family in from out of town, so I did not try and go visit. I will wait until things quiet down on Monday. TONI: Garam Masala is a blend of spices. I can give you a recipe for it if you can't find it. I have recipes for curry pastes as well. The hard to find stuff, like curry leaves, and tindora, or drum are about all I need to find at an Indian store. I made my own sambar powder. If you can't find stuff, just ask. My husband works with almost all Indians and they are very helpful with recipes and how to make substitutions for hard to find ingredients. I hope you like it! If your recipes are too hot, you can always tone the heat down, or up... :) COUNTRY: Oh YEAH! That three pounds is awesome! I am so glad all the exercise is paying off. Running will definitely benefit you. I think I have told you my husband is a runner. He runs five miles three or four times a week...barefoot! There is a great book out called Born To Run by Christopher McDougall. I was so inspired reading it I wanted to run...and I hope eventually to get to the point I can. |
Getting ready to go to a wedding shower at the church. I haven't been to one in so long. Hope the turn out is good. Eating has been pretty good this week end. We've got a pork tenderloin thawing for dinner. Along with a baked sweet potato and a salad it should be good.
Ellen- Thank you so much for the help in Indian cooking. I have no idea what I'm doing. LOL I got my book yesterday. I've never even tried lentils. I can't wait to try something. Crystle- Hope you had a nice day yesterday. It was so nice here. Guess I'd better get on my way. Have a great Sunday. |
I have had a pretty bad day. Don't want to talk about it...doesn't involve eating. Eating was pretty ok.
I have a terrible headache, and I could cheerfully punch someone's lights out. Not good. Its almost late enough to go to bed, so I think I will head in that direction. I hope tomorrow is better. My neighbor in hospice is failing...she is sleeping most of the time and having some fluid in the lungs problems. Now sure how much longer she will last. :( Sorry to be such a downer. |
Ellen- So sorry you've had such a bad day. Hope after a good nights sleep you'll feel better tomorrow. Still praying for your poor neighbor. Sounds like it won't be to long now. How sad....

Happy Monday laides, Well, I am still dizzy. Maybe not quite as much but then again I did nothing yesterday but sit almost. So I am sort of glad I am at work to see if this work makes it worse. We have talked to 3 specialist trying to come up with something.
Ellen, I had a cat scan and there was no fluid or anthing wrog with my ears so we don't know. Hope your day has improved and you are feeling better. Praying that your neighbor does not suffer any longer. Crystle, 3 lbs is awesome! I can't believe you are going into the 170's without me!. Food does not interest me. Especially good food. I only want junk. Veggies just turn my stomach right now. I think the lower you go, the more it makes you want it. Toni, Sounds like you are right back on track and doing good so far. Have you tried to walk your driveway any more? Getting off here now. Have a great day. |
