Woo Hoo

One stress out of the way. :carrot: Dentist was able to pull the tooth with no problems. Other than being really tired I wouldn't have known he pulled it. My mama made me some mashed potatoes. It really brought me back to my childhood. My mom has always been super when you are under the weather. I try to take care of her but she was bound and determined to help me so I let her. :) I told her I was ok but you know moms.

I lost one pound this week. I'll take it after this weekends no no's. I haven't been able to walk in a few days but I've been very faithful with my counter push ups. I've also been trying really hard to do the real ones. I am SO close.

Some of the green beans are coming up in the garden. I really really need to get out there and get the last of the things planted. It rained last night so as soon as it is dry enough I'll get on that.

I was gonna post a daily tip but my email is moving really slowly this morning. I'll try again later this evening.

Solly...thanks for the howdy this morning. ((hugzz)) Did you finish those proposals?

Toni...did ya'll get a little cold front like we did? The mornings are cool again but it is going to be nice in the afternoon.

Ellen...hope you are feeling better today. As soon as my mouth heals I'm gonna try some of those yummy recipes you sent me. I don't have the fennel yet but that is the recipe I want to try first.

All you missing ladies...come back and say howdy. It takes everybody to build a strong support system. If you are not OP don't let that be a reason to stay away or keep from posting. We all have off times,

((Everybody))

God bless,
Crystle

Toni48 04-08-2010 11:54 AM

Dang it I slipped last night and had two rice crispie treats. I was crazy for something sweet. That after I had such a good healthy dinner of chicken breast, roasted asparagus and salad. Oh well today is another day.

Crystle- It turn cool here. Brr!!! Went to bed with the ceiling fan on and woke up freezeing. I'm so happy you got your tooth taken care of. What a relief and what a nice Mama you have to make you some taters... Congrads on the 1lb. loss. Whoopie. :carrot:

Solly- I know its awfully slow in here. Are you getting this cool snap? We are and its what I think the country people call Blackberry winter.

Guess I'll go finish my coffee and make food......

Solly 04-08-2010 04:07 PM

Good afternoon ladies,

Finally watched the BL last night. I was sure glad they got rid of Melissa, again. I kind of felt sorry for her in the pool and at the end, no one told her goodbye. Did anyone see the trainer tip Jillian gave at the end? About eating strict for 3 days, moderate for a couple more and then a little more food for a couple days. It keeps your metabolism jumping. Gator Gal does that calories cycling on Sparks and she has lost a ton of wt. I looked into it over there, but never could get in the groove and used to the boards.

Toni, yes, it is rainy and cool here. But supposed to be in the 70's for the weekend. I wouldn't worry about those treats (I had some over the weekend myself, I love them). At least the cereal is good for you.

Crystle, yes, got those proposals done today. Actually had a slow morning for a change. So glad your tooth is better. Mother's are like that. Congrats on your loss.

That's all I know. Have a great evening.

Toni48 04-08-2010 06:34 PM

You know Solly think I'll try what Jillian said and see if the works better for me. Thats so great what Gator Girl is doing. Wish she was still on here and would give us some pointers.

Toni48 04-09-2010 10:24 AM

Good morning. Brrr! Its cold here in Missouri. Not much going on I haven't even had breakfast yet but was worried we were getting so low on the board. Will be back later...

CountryMom4Him 04-09-2010 10:35 AM

Good morning

I didn't get a lot accomplished yesterday but I did mow part of the front yard for my exercise. I mowed for about 30 minutes. I might do the other part today or maybe walk. Not sure yet. The boys and I had a fantastic evening yesterday. After we grilled and devoured some brisket, buttermilk potatoes and garden carrots we went fishing in the pond. I caught the first little keeper.:carrot: We are catching them for a friend. She and her son just love perch. After fishing we had some sugar free cocoa by the fire. It was a little cool so we also snuggled in a blanket. All that fresh air had me out like a light at bedtime.

Daily Email Tip:
Emphasize Healthy Fats
Fats have gotten a bad rap over the years. However, all fats are not creative equal. There are good fats and bad fats. Good fats come from fish, nuts, avocados, seeds, olive oil and other foods. While they are high in calories, these foods contain omega-3s and omega-6s which are actually health-enhancing properties. These fats are responsible for improving conditions ranging from heart health to depression. Avoid bad fats such as saturated fats found in animal products like meat, dairy and eggs, and trans fats found in processed foods such as fries, chips, cakes and cookies.

I've found eating healthy fats like those in avocado and nuts help me to lose a little better even though they are higher in calories. That being said as you can tell this year I'm not burning up the scales with weight loss. There has to be an age connection or something because when I started SB I lost all of my weight fast and was able to keep it off. Now it seems stuck like glue.

Hope and pray ya'll are having a good day. Hope our ladies start posting again.

God bless,
Crystle

Solly 04-09-2010 03:40 PM

Hi ladies, it is so quiet here. Only me and another girl here today. So we aren't doing a lot. ha-ha

Back to our happy hour on Fridays since the fish frys are over. I will watch my wine consumption but I am not giving it up all together. Life is short.

Crystle what a great evening you had. So much fun and togetherness.

Toni, it was cold here today too. It is supposed to warm up tomorrow and Sunday and should be a beautiful weekend. I miss Gator too, but she is involved in the boards over there and I doubt she would come back.

Have a great weekend. I will try to check in over the weekend. I have to get on the computer for some tires so I will check in.

CountryMom4Him 04-09-2010 06:13 PM

Howdy

Good evening. I am so pleased with myself today. I walked for over thirty minutes and mowed for over an hour. I broke the mowing into to sessions. It feels good to get off my lazy tushy. And trust me my tushy is lazy. Eating has been decant as well.

Thank you Solly. I really enjoy those rare moments with my boys. We sometimes take it for granted that we live in the country or that we have schedules that allow us to find together time. Enjoy your happy hour.

Toni...hope it warmed up today.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Toni48 04-09-2010 09:35 PM

Wow Crystle you did great today. Bet you feel so good tonight. Keep up the good work.

Solly- Have a great week end. Wish we would go somewhere for Happy Hour. LOL Which is not going to happen in this little town.

Have a great week end.

jazzmegirl 04-10-2010 11:57 AM

Hi. I know when you guys used to have a separate forum, there were some great recipe threads. Did those all get removed from the site?
Amie

Toni48 04-10-2010 07:05 PM

Amie- I don't know how to get to them. Hopefully they aren't lost for ever. I sure miss using them.

Solly 04-11-2010 08:42 PM

Gosh is it just the 3 of us now????? Where is everyone??
Eating has been decent. Just got in from taking the dog for a short walk. My GS has hada fever of 104 since last night. I went out and stayed with him while they went to the grocery. He is fine and startring to crawl until the fever creeps up. You could tell he was sick by his eyes. I am going out to stay with him until noon tomorrow and my youngest gets out of class and can keep him.

Toni, make your own happy hour with your DH. A glass of wine won't hurt you.

Crystle, wow girl, you make me tired. I watched my DH cut the grass, does that count. I did blow it off for him. I bet you see a good loss come Wed or I forgot, don't you weigh on Mondays?

It was a beautiful weekend. I sat in the sum and read, we grilled out. I didn't want it to end.

Talk to you tomorrow afternoon hopefully.

Toni48 04-11-2010 09:01 PM

Hope everyone had a good Sunday. It was beautiful here. I got 1 load of wash done and then lazied out. We grilled for dinner. Other than that its been a quiet day.

Solly- So sorry about your Grandson being sick. Poor little guy.

Hello where are you all....

Mercee 04-12-2010 11:14 AM

Good morning Ladies!

I am Back at work after being off since March 31st for spring break. I had a great and busy time. I am busy since it is my first day back. I walked while I was on vacation and feel great. Have agreat day everyone. I will return later.

CountryMom4Him 04-12-2010 03:04 PM

Good afternoon

Howdy ya'll. We had a very nice weekend. Nothing major happened it was just nice. Last night I spent some time outside reflecting on all the blessings that God has given me and my family. Some of those which we take for granted like living in the country, being able to fish in the pond or just having quiet moments on the porch. There are so many that don't have these things.

I was excited this morning to put on a pair of pants I bought to get into by the summer. Even with no real weight loss they fit fairly well. About five more pounds and I think they will look good. The best part is they are a 12. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT a size 12 but it still was a boost to put them on.

Eating has been good so far today. I had a few no-no's over the weekend but I don't believe I went over calories. Example...1/2 bbq sandwich on white bread. The bbq was homemade so legal. Just had the white bread. Same thing at dinner time. We had sausage dogs on bread. At least it was a chicken sausage.

I really like today's email tip. It is a good reminder that it's not all about giving things up but making other choices.

Daily Email Tip:
Give Your Food A Flavor Boost
You love burgers, but you're watching your waistline. That doesn't mean you have to resort to eating a dry patty of meat. Sure, you'll want to ditch the chili, the cheese and the mayo. However, you can still enjoy a burger that packs a mean punch without overdoing it. Dress up your burger with healthy extras. Lettuce, pickles, tomato, avocado, salsa, mustard and ketchup are all acceptable toppings that won't tack on a ton of fat and calories.

Mercee...welcome back to the board. It's been quiet so it will be nice to have some more input. Plus, it's just not the same without you. WTG walking on vacation.

Solly...so sorry your grand baby is feeling poorly. It is so stressful when their fevers get that high. You had me laughing so hard at you watching hubby mow the grass. And you are quiet the helper blowing it off of him..LOL

Toni..so glad you are getting some of this lovely weather. As much as I hate to say it we could use some rain. The garden really needs it. You were so right I was tired the other night. I slept so hard. It was great.

Ellen...hope you are having a good day. I noticed you sounded discourage on facebook. Hang in there.

((Everybody))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Solly 04-12-2010 03:43 PM

Good afternoon ladies. I could get into working these half days. The babie's fever is down but he is still pitiful acting. Cranky, wants to be held and sleeps a lot. He is congested and hoarse sounding. He wouldn't sleep in his bed so his daddy is very tired today.

Mercee, welcome back. we have missed you. Good job getting those walks in.

Toni, it's good when you can be lazy on your weekend. That's something that doesn't happen to me very often, but I also enjoyed it.

Crystle, Good tip. It is all about choices. I had to laugh, I must have made a typo in my last post. I didn't blow the grass off my Dh, I blew it off the sidewalk, driveway and patio. How funny. I was using my DD's computer and I am not used to it. When I sit int he ho tub at night, I always use that time to count my blessings and pray some. I love sitting there on a clear night just watching the stars.

Ellen, we are missing you over here. Pleae share some of yoru FB time with your SB friends.

Off to finish my pb and celery. Have a great eveing.

Ellen 04-12-2010 04:37 PM

Hello, Ladies! Solly messaged me on Facebook and I felt badly that I had not checked in lately. So, here I am! :)

I am trying to stick completely to the Vegan diet and it is working well. My blood sugars are down a LOT, and I have dropped one of my worst meds. (the one that makes it really hard to lose weight) I also am down a few pounds. Now, I am not getting excited about that yet, because I was UP a few....when I get below the last official low, I will be excited.

I am finding it not so hard to eat Vegan, but terribly hard to also avoid gluten. I go for a few days great guns, then I get bored. I am constantly searching for new recipes, and trying to plot and plan. Tom started a detox diet today and I am at wits end planning meals for his diet and mine.

I got a job! Its teaching art one day a week at an academy for home schooled children. It starts in August and I am very excited about it. The pay is great and I know I will LOVE working with the kids.

I went to Water Aerobics this morning. We had a sub and she worked us really hard! I rode up to Whole Foods with a friend after class. She got a new puppy and needed a special kind of dog food. I got some gluten free meat substitutes to try. Most have gluten in them, so it makes getting protein a bit more creative!

COUNTRY: Thanks for the kind words...I was not too discouraged, and I think I got things worked out well. I really try not to be cryptic on FB, as I hate when folks do that! :) Let me know how you like the recipes. I keep finding more to try..will pass them along. I made stuffed collard leaves yesterday and was excited to have a new way to fix collards!

Solly: Thanks for stalking me! Feel free to remind me whenever I have not been here often enough! :) Tell Gator she ought to come back and advise everyone. Glad to hear she has done so well.

JAZZMEGIRL-AMIE: When they moved the Sugar busters out of their own forum area the recipes were all deleted along with the forum. I was sick about that, but there was nothing I could do about it. I did ask if they could be saved, but was told there was no way.

I will try and be more consistent with my posting. I want to remember to weigh on Wednesday, as I am hoping to continue to see positive results.

Toni48 04-12-2010 07:53 PM

Sorry I've been a slug today. Was gone to town most of the afternoon. Now I'm woren out and will have to post more later or tomorrow... Hugs everyone.

Mercee 04-13-2010 10:45 AM

Morning ladies:

How is everyone today. I had a great evening last night I walked the trail in the woods 3.6 miles. I will have to walk on my tr4admill tonight because I have a busy schedule this evening. I love walking outside.

Solly- I hope your grandson is better today? I use to hate when my kids were mall and they got sick they can be so pitiful.

Ellen- I'm glad your vegan diey is working for you that is great. Being able to come off one of your meds is wonderful. Keep up the good work. I know you are excited to see weightloss this soon.

Toni- It is okay to have a lazy weekend. I wish I could have one soon. LOL

Crystle- Isn't it great to feflect over how God has blessed us. Sometimes we can forget when things aren't going well, so it is good to remeber his track record with us . He is truly amazing!

Have a great day everyone. I'll check in later.

CountryMom4Him 04-13-2010 01:09 PM

Good afternoon

Howdy ya'll. Sitting here eating my rice cake nachos. I just took two cheese flavored rice cakes and topped them with refried beans, fat free cheese and jalapenos. Not bad at all and is satisfying that need to crunch. I did walk this morning but only for about 20 minutes. Figured it was better than not at all.

Email Tip:
Lose Weight Like A Celebrity...Not!
All that glitters isn't gold. It's hard not to be jealous of those superstars who shed massive amounts of post-partum pounds in a matter of months while the rest of us are left battling the bulge for at least a year. However, when it comes to celebrity weight loss after giving birth, results are not typical. Many of these stars engage in strenuous workouts with a personal trainer while a chef busily prepares their meals. Your best bet is to follow a healthy meal plan, exercise regularly and find a support system. You'll have just as good of a chance of losing weight at a rate of one to two pounds a week.

Mercee...amen I totally agree. Good job on all that walking.

Toni...hope you have a better day today.

Ellen...so glad you are feeling better. With all the dietary restrictions it has to be very hard. If I find any good recipes I'll be sure to share. I have good veggie ones but they aren't gluten free. I'll have to look in my magazines when time permits. I get vegetarian times and it is loaded with yummy looking recipes. My hubby was afraid when I first started getting it. He made sure to let me know he wouldn't go meatless. I told him not to worry they would be side dishes or I could add meat. :)

Solly...hope your little man is feeling better today.

((Everybody))

God bless,
Crystle

Toni48 04-13-2010 02:17 PM

Happy Happy here I walked on the treadmill just now. Had a great breakfast of two poached eggs on rye toast and a glass of juice. Heading out the door in a few minutes for a hair cut. Pretty good day so far.

Crystle- You're on a roll now girl friend. Way to go.... The rice cakes sound out of this world. I would love some good veggie recipes.

Mercee-Doing great with the walking. Keep up the good work.

Solly-Hope the Grandson is better today. Your hot tub is sounding so good.

Ellen- Glad to see you posting here. Wow your stats make me want to look into a vegan diet.

Better get my shoes on and finish getting ready..... Check back later...

Solly 04-13-2010 03:41 PM

Good afternoon ladies.

Good to see so many more posts.

Thanks for al the concerns over my grandson. Day 2 with no fever but still cranky and sleeping alot. He took a 4 hour nap yesterday.

Ellen, so glad to see your post. Wow dropping a med is great news and losing wt to boot. Sounds like vegan is working for you. I am confused. I thought vegan was no meat? I saw you were looking for gluton free meat? I didn't know there was gluten in meat?

Toni, kick your feet up and get some rest. :cheer:, WTG getting on that :tread:

Crystle, Your nachos sound good. We got a short walk in also.

Mercee, what a great walk you got.

We did go for a walk with the dog last night, about a mile. There was a cool breeze. I have been trying to sit outside after dinner as long as I can and enjoy the spring weather.

Toni48 04-13-2010 05:18 PM

Hair cut done. And I feel better all fluffed up.

Solly- The walk with your dog sounds so nice. A good way to enjoy the evening.

Hope everyone is having a great day.....

Mercee 04-14-2010 10:00 AM

Morning ladies:

The scale stayed the same, however I am wearing a dress that was to tight before and it looks great on. I decided I will keep walking and eating right and allow the sacle to catch up with me. LOL

Toni- Glad you are feeling better after getting fluffed up. It is amazing how a haircut can make us feel.

Solly- Glad you grandson is getting better.

Well I have to get back to work. Have a great day everyone. It feels good to be back here with all you wonderful ladies.

CountryMom4Him 04-14-2010 11:45 AM

Good morning

I stayed this same this week. But I'm still happy. :dizzy: Like Mercee my clothes are fitting a little better and I feel good so what more can I ask. Hopefully the weight loss will soon follow.

I'm crazy busy this morning so I'll try to post again later.

((Everybody))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Solly 04-14-2010 02:26 PM

I was actually up 2 lbs, but have been trying to cut back on my water pills to 2 a day and that is probably some of it, I hope.

I am seeing a new doctor early next month and she is also a nutritionist so hopefully she can get me started on the right track.

We went to a boy scout luncheon today. They served hot browns. I ate it and I had about 5 bites of the chocolate cake mostly b/c I was starving and it was already on the table. Coach Calapari was the main speaker and being a UK fan, it was a fun time.

Mercee, I love your attitude on the scale. I will be so glad when I can get my legs straightened out and start walking again. I have been walking outside in the evenings and can do it about a mile. Congrats on that dress fitting. I think that is the best feeling.

Crystle, congrats on your clothes fitting better also. What an accomplishment.

Toni, I bet your are all dolled up now. I have the worst time with hair. I liked it better when I was bald and I could just throw on a wig.

I will definately have to take a walk tonightto walk off that dessert. I think my GS wil be there when I get home so I may take him for a walk. He is feeling better, but last night the rash appeared so I guess the dr was right in saying it probably was Roseolla (sp).

Have a great evening everyone

Toni48 04-14-2010 02:59 PM

Having a great day. Weighed in two lbs. down and 1 lb. away from my ticker weight. So I've had a good week. Walked on the treadmill for the second day in a row. Took a friend out for her birthday lunch and she wanted to go to our little Dairy Shack for lunch. I was proud I ordered a Chef's salad and an unsugared ice tea. Couldn't even finish the salad. Tonight I'm making something with chicken breast in a pita bread.

Mercee- Its wonderful to get in something with a better fit. I tried on some new jeans I had hang in my closet. 2 fit 2 didn't. I was happy with the two new jeans....

Crystle- Congrads on staying the same and losing inches. That is a great feeling.

Solly- That water is really a bummer. I can't tell I left my water pills off today. This afternoon my ankles are swollen. I'm sure you'll do better next week. Don't give up. You've done so good and are such an inspiration.....

Time for a little nap. Happy afternoon....

Solly 04-15-2010 11:30 AM

Good morning.

It is another beautiful day here and it is slow at the office so I am taking a 1/2 day and going to take by GS to the park. My younhgest is keepinghim since the babysitter's husband had to have some minor surgery today. So we will go to the park or something.

Toni, I am so proud of you. Walking 2 days and ordering such a good lunch. I would have had to have an icecream. ha-ha I am in a good frame of mind right now and anxious to visit with the new dr. A friend of my DD's goes to her and she has lost a ton of wt. Of course, I am batteling the meds that keep the wt on.

Crystle, Mercee, Ellen, hope you are having a great day.

Talk to you tomorrow.

CountryMom4Him 04-15-2010 11:43 AM

Good morning

Not much computer time again today. I had a small eating set back last night but it was fun eating tortilla chips and salsa with my youngest. We were watching an old Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs while munching on chips. :dizzy: The good news is I did get a walk in.

Email Tip:
Avoid Diets Low In Calories
Common sense says that if you want to lose weight, you should lower your calorie intake. But how low can you go? It's important to find a happy medium that will be good for your body. Many people believe that dropping down to 800 calories or less will help shed those extra pounds. However, this type of calorie cutting is neither healthy nor sustainable. People who need to follow a low calorie diet for medical reasons should do so only under the supervision of a doctor. Side effects of calorie-restricted diets include fatigue, nausea, diarrhea and constipation.

No problem with that one..I eat too much. :D

Hope ya'll are having a good day. I gotta get going. Still have a few things to finish online.

God bless,
Crystle

Toni48 04-15-2010 01:06 PM

Howdy all.... Just got done having oatmeal with fresh blueberries in it and a glass of peach mango juice. I got my walk in today on the treadmill. So I'm on my way. Eating has been really good. Hope I can make it through the week end. Just taking one day at a time. Trying hard to get rid of night eating.

Solly- What a fun afternoon with Grandson. I'm sure he'll love it. Can't wait till you go to the new doctor. Have a wonderful healthy day.

Crystle- You sound so busy. Love the fish your son caught. Get away from those chips.

Happy healthy day...

Ellen 04-15-2010 01:37 PM

Hello Ladies!

I actually did weigh yesterday but never got the chance to get on here. I had my silk ladies over, and then ran over to meet Tom for his doctor appointment, then we took the car over to the mechanic, came home, he worked in the yard on the garden and I cooked, cleaned up, loaded up the dishwasher, made his breakfast smoothie and lunch, then about crashed.

When I weighed yesterday, I was down 1/2 a pound! I will take it! Anything in the right direction is encouraging for me after struggling for so long to lose anything. I am eating brown rice, and beans, and my blood sugar is not perfect, but better than it was. I know I need to add more exercise in there. I missed water aerobics yesterday...I over slept! Tom went to work early, and I thought I would just sleep another 15 minutes or so...but ended up sleeping another hour and a half. It felt good! :)

SOLLY: I am not eating meat...faux meats like Morningstar Farms are made with what is called Seitan...it is a fake meat made with wheat gluten. I can't have it. It is very hard to find no gluten fake meats. So I am kind of stuck with tofu, and beans. I am struggling to get enough protein, but I feel good so maybe its not a bad thing?! How is the grandbaby doing? I don't get to see mine nearly enough. I may drive out to see my grandson tomorrow if I have a car. Tom's is in the shop...I hope it is done today or my day tomorrow is going to be kind of ruined! :)

COUNTRY: I used to get Vegetarian Times! I like it, and the recipes, but I did not like the 'agenda' sometimes. I did not renew, and had plans to check out their web site for recipes. In the back of the magazine, they have a chart that shows you whether the recipe is vegan, gluten free, low fat, fast to prepare...I took all my copies and went through them and found a good number of promising ones. The lentil/fennel salad I sent you was from VT! Any vegan gluten free recipes you find or have tried would be greatly appreciated! Got any ideas for beans? I can only cook Tex-Mex so many nights a week before someone starts to complain! :)

TONI: Good for you, getting on your treadmill! I did once last week and really need to do that regularly when I don't want to walk outside, or don't make it to water aerobics. The pollen is pretty bad here, and I have been using that as an excuse! Shame on me! The vegan diet I am on is very low fat. You might just really keep tabs on your fat intake and reduce how much meat you are eating...especially any high fat kinds...and see what you think. I don't exactly mind it, but I really miss the ease of cooking with meat, cheese, olive oil, etc. :)

MERCEE: I have been on here a long long time, and used to be the moderator...so I wanted you to know this is not a flippant remark....your clothes fitting better is a better indicator of your diet working then the scale. That is awesome! Often we 'rearrange' the weight before it drops off. Its especially encouraging if it is belly weight, which is a sign of insulin resistance. When I notice my belly is smaller, I get pretty excited! So, all that to say, congrats! How is the weather up in your neck of the woods? I may get up there before the fall...if I do we will have to meet for lunch or something.

 Caio!

Mercee 04-15-2010 01:42 PM

Hi Ladies:

It is a beautiful day here. I got my walk in yesterday I was able to do 2.5 miles on the track. I had to stay late at work last night but I talked a co-worker into walking with me.

Toni- Congrats on your loss. Keep up the good work. Keep up the good eating. You are amazing.

Solly- I hope you enjoy your day with your GS at the park.

Crystle- Congrats on staying the same but losing inches. That's still a great place to be. Please inform your youngest to keep you out of the chips. LOL

Have a great day everyone!!

Mercee 04-15-2010 01:45 PM

Ellen- We were posting at the same time. The weather here is great . Congrats on your loss and thanks for the encouragement. Have a great day. I am happy your new way of life is working so well for you. Keep up the good work.

Solly 04-16-2010 08:57 AM

Good morning. At least it is Friday.

We had a nice day yesterday. Did not make it to the park as my DD had to go to the mall and then get ready to go to a ballgame last night. So we ate lunch at Subway and got her gift and then went for a short walk. It was still a nice enjoyable day. We have a busy weekend. I have to work the soup kitchen by myself as DH is playing golf. My youngest was going to work with me, but my SIL is playing golf with my Dh and MY DD has a shower to give so I will take the baby so she can get ready and go to the shower and my youngest will keep him while I am at the soup kitchen. Then we have to go to a first communion party. Sunday I beleive we are getting the baby's picture made. We tried last week until he came down with the fever.

Ellen, how about adding protein shakes to increase your protein. I'm not sure if they contain gluten or not. I have been drinking 2 a day. Hope you get your car back so you can visit with your grandbaby.

Mercee, WTG getting that walk in and getting a co-worker to walk too.

Crystle, I found a tortilla chip that is wonderful and not bad for you. The brand is called "Food Should Taste Good" They are low in fat and calories
and have ww in them. Sometimes I have to have my salsa and chips. I used to use triscuits, but I think these are about the same counts.

Toni, you have been doing so great. Another walk on the :tread: You are kicking *@*@ girl. You will do fine through the weekend.

Got to run. Have a great day and weekend.

Good afternoon. Went out to lunch today. Didn't do to well it was a fish buffet and of course I went and had the sides. So I'll call this a cheat day and get back on the wagon tomorrow. Or rather tonight. Need to go to our little town market tomorrow and pick up some fruit and a couple of things.

Solly- Sounds like you have a busy week end planned. Thats so great you work at the soup kitchen. I admire you.

Ellen- Did you recommend the fat free vegan. I eat meat but I love that site and have found lots of good recipes there. Thank you for the site name. I'm so glad you're having success with your eating.

Mercee- Keep up the good work. I would love to say I walked that far.

Have a good week end everyone.

Good evening. Just got done eating dinner and it was a meatloaf I made out of part turkey and part hamburger. It turned out pretty good. I had cauliflower with this. I wonder what makes me think dinner isn't satisfying unless I have meat. I would love to get away from this and enjoy it. At least once in awhile not have meat. I went to the store today and got some good oranges, apples, and strawberries. I walked on the treadmill today so was really happy I started out my day great.

Crystle- Hope you're having a lovely vacation.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week end.

Good morning

My hubby took Jess hog hunting this morning. It was a total surprise for him. I hope they have the best day ever. My youngest is still sleeping. I figured since it is vacation I'd let him sleep in. So, that leaves me with some wonderful quiet time. I haven't had very much computer time this week. Or time to play with graphics for my group so I'll probably play a little when I get through catching up with everyone. Since Robert is not here I'm getting to enjoy a cup of flavored coffee, German Chocolate Cake. The best part is zero calories and a comforting flavor. Eating this weekend was not textbook but I kept my meals reasonable. Yesterday I had a breakfast burrito. Lunch was a barbacuo burrito. Snack was a fiber bar. And dinner I did eat more than I shoud as I had two tacos. I should have stopped at one but they were soooo good..LOL They had cake and ice cream and I just nibbled.

They changed how they are sending the daily tips so I won't have those to share anymore. I'll have to find another source. A personal tip if that is what you would call it is to never give up. If the scales are up remember weight fluctuates. If you fall off the wagon it only takes a second to climb back on. When you are discouraged remember this too shall pass.

Toni...I"m with you on the meat. I'd like to not eat it as often. The flavor is what I like best about meat. I love veggies and grains and all sorts of things but there are times that there is nothing as good as a piece of fish or some ground meat. I'm working on eating less by substituting with some soy products. My hubby will have none of that though. It's meat or nothing.

Solly...thanks for the chips tips.

Ellen...you are such an encouragement to try new things.

Mercee..hope you are having a super day.

((Everybody))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Morning Ladies:

I had a very busy weekend but I did get to walk yesterday after church. I walked my 4 miles in the woods. I usually take Sunday off but I missed walking Friday and Satureday. I will get back out there today. My sister brought e 2 dresses for my birthday and they are a size smaller than I usually wear and guess what they both fir and one is linen. Yipee!! I vow to keep walking and eating well and let the scales catch up with me. This weekend I wore oneof my smaller outfits that was to tight before. I feel great.

Crystle- I hope you enjoying your vacation.

Toni- Grat job on eating well and exercising.

Well back to work have a great day everyone.
