Ellen 10-06-2010 04:05 PM

I am taking a 'mono' day. Still in my nightie. My blister is better this afternoon, but it was bad this morning. My heel was bad this morning and better now too. My bg was not great this morning. Consequently, I am annoyed and frustrated.

We have a pot luck to go to tonight...its always fun. I made a blueberry cake to take, and I think I will make my green beans and coconut dish. Its tasty...not too hot and green. :)

My son in law called this morning and asked if we would go in with his mother and them on a whole head of beef. It will end up costing around $300 but its grass fed with no antibiotics or hormones. Plus, they are raised locally. We are going to do it. We don't eat much beef, but when we do, grass fed is our preferred type, and this makes it MUCH cheaper than the grocery store. This means I need to clean out and defrost the freezer! :)

Off to fix the green beans!

Ellen 10-06-2010 04:07 PM

Oh, and I weighed this morning...I was down 1/2 a pound. I had hoped for more, but I will take it.

Toni48 10-06-2010 04:38 PM

Having a lazy day. Got the book Japanese Women don't get old or fat book. So hope to start it today. But watching Dr. Oz right now. I didn't weigh in this morning. Think I'll skip it this week. Did anyone watch the Biggest Loser last night. Tina was voted out. I think she got it but was too wishy washy about staying and going.

Solly- You sound a litttle down today. And I sure can't blame you. It will get better. Its just going to take time. You can beat this!

Ellen- Big congrads for losing this week. Enjoy your jammie day.....

Solly 10-07-2010 08:41 AM

Good morning ladies. Not up to par today. I am worn out. I go home every night and after dinner put on my pj's and hit the couch I can't do a thing and I am getting extra sleep, I think I am letting this get me down, I don't know.

Ellen, try the frozen water bottle on your foot and also take a beach towel and while you are watching tv, make astrap and pull your toes back with your hands on the end of the towel, it stretches that tendon. Have fun tonight.

Toni, Let us know what that book has to say. I finished the BL last night. I was glad to see Tina go. I think there is going to be some controversy this year with the men taking sides. We'll see what happens.

Crystle and Mercee, have a great day.

CountryMom4Him 10-07-2010 09:43 AM

Good morning

Had a good day with workouts yesterday. Walked in the morning, shot my bow in the afternoon and later in the afternoon did a workout video. Weigh-in this week was down a pound.

Solly..I am so sorry you are not feeling well today. I pray that if depression is setting in that it leave in Jesus' name so you can focus on getting better. I wish I could come over and just give you a giant hug and pray with you. There is not a doubt in my mind when you are feeling better and are able to move more your energy level will go up. Know that you are loved and this will pass. You have battled your RA, you have battled and beat cancer, you have battled sleep issues, foot issues, neck issues you are a WINNER and you'll win this one also.

Ellen...Did you enjoy your off day yesterday? Did you get that nice rested booty up and moving today? I'm fixing to have a cup of coffee and then decide about the day. I keep thinking of taking a day off but then I change my mind. We'll see. Maybe just a workout video today. I ordered a new one off of Ebay last night. There are a couple more I want. But I'm waiting until they are a bargain.

Toni..thank you for the recipe. I think I might try it this weekend. I've really been craving soup. I've also been thinking some potato soup would be yummy and comforting. I like the way it warms you from the inside out. We got in the 30's the other morning but it warmed up into the 80's. The house stayed cool though so another reason soup is so appealing.

Mercee..hey lady. Hope you are having a super day.

Coffee is calling.

((Everybody))

God bless,
Crystle

Mercee 10-07-2010 12:25 PM

Hello Ladies:

Solly- I hope you get better soon. I am praying for you. Don't get frustrated with yourself because you aren't getting better fast enough for you. Your body will heal in its time. Sometiimes it is just not fast enough for us. You have been tthrough alot whether you realize it or not.

Ellen- Congrats on your loss!! I hope your numbers are better today. It takes time.

Crystle- Congrats on your loss!!! Great job with your workouts. Go Girl!!!

Toni- Can't wait to hear what the book has to say!!! I plan to watch the Biggest Loser tonight.

I forgot to weigh-in yesterday. I had a great workout yesterday. This dumb cold is still holding on but I have to push past it. The dr. said it would take a few more days before it is gone. Have a great day everyone!!

Toni48 10-07-2010 04:21 PM

Good afternoon. They just called and my glasses are ready. So guess tomorrow I'll go get them and maybe make a trip to the health food store. Not much going on here today, in fact I'm pretty boring.

Solly- I sure don't blame you for feeling down. You deserve some down time. Maybe you need some early nights with lots of rest. Your body is fighting to be healthy. You're strong and can beat this, its just going to take time. My ex boss and dear friend had a stroke and had double vision and it took him about three months to come back. But he did. And you have allot better attitute. Just be patient, it will get better. YOU CAN DO THIS.....

Crystle-Oh don't mention potato soup, its my hubby's favorite. He can eat a ton of it. I do love it to when its cool out. We're starting to warm up here again. A good week end coming up for our local crafts fair. Good job on working out. Yea for the lb. Good job...

Mercee- Hope you get over that cold soon. Good job on working out.....

Ellen 10-07-2010 04:50 PM

I had intended to go to water aerobics this morning, but will say I was providentially hindered. I could NOT find my drivers license. Time to leave for class came and went and I could not find it. Finally remembered to check my blazer pocket ...the one I wore to the memorial service Tuesday...voila! There it was. And I missed class.

A young friend came over for lunch. She brought me her plantar fascitis boots, and foot massager, and some capsicum pain cream. I am all set! It feels better already just stretching it in the boot while sitting at the computer.

I feel kind of sleepy this afternoon. I did not sleep really well last night. Not sure why...my stats on my cpap machine look fabulous, but I just don't STAY asleep. Very frustrating.

We have a meeting tonight, so I better go get going on dinner!

:grouphug:

Solly 10-08-2010 08:55 AM

Happy Friday all. It sure took long enough to get here. We have the breast cancer walk tomorrow morning. I am going to try to walk the mile. Depending n my leg and my foot. I thik starting walking again has hurt my foot and I can hardly bend it. I hope that is what it is and not broken again. After the walk every9one is coming back to my house to celebrate my 2 great nieces birthdays` I think that is all we have planned.

Ellen, I hope that boot helps your foot. I am going to try an ice pack later on mine. I have lost my car keys somewhere. I can't find them anywhere. Luckily my car starts with a button and a fob, but I have my work keys and all my little discount cards on them. Hope your meeting was good. Congrats on your half pound.

Crystle, Great job on your 1 lb. You will see more next week with your increase of exercise. You are so sweet with your kind words. I told my DH I didn't care much about anything and he fussed at me and said maybe I should hange my attitude. I normally have a good attitude so I don't know what has happened to me. I wore my "Footsteps" bracelet today and as I put it on I told the Lord he if has been carrying me any I haven't seen it but then again maybe he has and it could be worse.

Toni, Thanks for your kind works too. I am not a rester so maybe that is my problem. Plus I really don't want to work. I have had some vision problems, more so that I can see w/o my glasses even though I wear them all the time. Strange.

Mercee, thanks for your well wishes. I guess since my neck never hurt I really don't feel like it was major surgery. I am not a patient person either. I have to keep reminding my self "in His time, not mine". Hope your colod gets better soon. Ihave something which I thought was allergies - nose running, coughing like crazy - now I am concerned it may be sinuses or a cold. Always something. Have a great weekend.

Off to work on a proposal. Have a great weekend. It is supposed to be realy warm here so summer is back. Talk to you Monday.

Ellen 10-08-2010 11:00 AM

Good morning! I am a firm believer in the power of prayer, and boy, do I have evidence this morning. I asked a small group we meet to pray with on a regular basis to pray about my errant blood sugar levels. They have been running 50 or more points above my morning target range for the last week. This morning, they were down to just one point above the high end. Yay!

I slept all night with the boot on. My foot hurts this morning, but its a better hurt...if that makes sense.

I made myself a smoothie for breakfast with org. cherries, and rice protein in milk. Never again! I have decided I do NOT like smoothies, they make me feel gross. I need eggs, meat, or something. I topped off the smoothie with a small bowl of gluten free cereal and I am still feeling yucky.

Going to lunch at Sweet Tomatoes today...the all you can eat salad buffet. I will endeavor to behave. :)

The mom who commissioned me to paint her daughter came and got the painting last night. She liked it. yay! I am relieved. She paid me...which was fun. My first painting sold! Woo hoo!

Gotta go meet my friend for lunch...will be back.

Oh, and I weighed this morning..down another 1.5!!

Toni48 10-08-2010 11:30 AM

Good morning. Just finished having coffee and about ready to start my day. Glad to go pick up my glasses today. Will go this afternoon. Trying to think of something for breakfast. Might make a smoothie.

Ellen- You're probably going yucky about my smoothie. LOL! I'm so happy you got your numbers down. Hope your foot hurries and heals. That has to be miserable. Congratulations on the painting. And on top of that all you lost weight. WOO HOO.......

Solly- Have a good walk and a nice time this week end. My gosh I hope that foot isn't broken again.

Toni48 10-09-2010 01:43 PM

Happy Saturday to you all.

CountryMom4Him 10-10-2010 10:56 AM

Good morning

I'm sitting here having some quiet time and thought of you all. I hope you are having a really nice weekend. The kids came by yesterday so that was really nice. I need to get off my booty and get ready to exercise but I'm still moving in low gear. :dizzy:

Eating has been alright. Still on the light side but there are worst things. :) Ellen, you were saying you didn't like smoothies. I have one that makes a wonderful snack. I take a frozen banana, 1/2 cup fage fatfree yogurt and a cup of skim milk and a teaspoon of sugar. When you put all those in the nija (I think a blender would be the same) It is frothy, sweet with a hint of tanyness.

Toni..those bad children had me make potato soup yesterday. It was SO hard not to dive in. :D

Solly...hope you are resting and feeling better this weekend.

Mercee...hope you are getting over that cold.

Okay ya'll time to get the clothes on. That is one step closer to getting up and moving.

(((Everybody)))

God bless,
Crystle

Ellen 10-10-2010 02:21 PM

Hello everyone! We went to church this morning...we are joining a new church and I am enjoying going again. Yay! We snacked when we got home and I will make some chicken and broccoli stir fry a bit later. I am contemplating jumping in the pool one last time before it is definitely too cold to do so. Its about 85 here today, so the air is warm enough...the water will be pretty cold though!

We went to our daughter's house for dinner last night. We had our grandson over night and took him home. They made steak and broccoli, and I was hoping they would make baked potatoes so I could avoid eating one, but instead, my son in law made is almost famous(in the family anyway) potato and cheese soup. Its really good and decadent...made with cream cheese. I ate a good size bowl of it. My blood sugar was not as horrible as it has been lately, so I was pleased. The beef did not sit really well last night, but it was tasty... we are so used to just chicken and fish now! Its amazing.

COUNTRY: Every time I try to make myself a smoothie, it just makes my stomach feel yucky. I think its the air that gets incorporated into it. I have tried and tried and just decided to give up. I never cared for milkshakes either....

Ok, off to work on Sunday dinner!

Toni48 10-10-2010 03:55 PM

Good afternoon. Just a quiet Sunday here. I took out a pork tenderloin to thaw and DH will grill it and I'll have a baked sweet potato and broccoli with it I think. Maybe a salad too. Kind of wish we would have went to the craft fair today but didn't want to till now. LOL ! Guess I'm skipping it this year.

Ellen- I'm glad you found a new church. That soup sounds wonderful. Wish I had a big bowl of it right now. LOL.... We were supposed to go to friends for dinner but it didn't work out.

Crystle- Guess soup is on my brain cause the potato soup sounds so good. Hubby made little steaks and shrimp on the grill last night. He cooked the whole dinner his self. Guess we're enjoying this nice weather while we can.

Solly- I hope you're doing good this week end.

Mercee- Are you resting that cold?

Solly 10-11-2010 09:36 AM

Happy Monday Everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend. It was busy for me. The walk went well, but then we only did the 1 mile. Saw some old friends and almost my whole family came. We had my 2 great nieces birthdays afterthat at my house. I did nothing. My DD & niece took care of everything. The baby feel asleep while everyone was gone Halloween shopping so his dad put him to bed at my house so I just let him stay. That bugger got up at 6:00 am Sunday. I was so tired. I took a nap that afternoon, but it may me feel worse. I drove to work today. Some parts were dicey but I made it, now to get home.

Well they say you have to hit rock bottom to turn your life around. I think I am there. None of my pants will button and I am miserable in them. The scale was up today (but I did not have any water pills the whole weekend) but most of it is me. So I have started today eating right. Trying to stay at 1300 calories. If it is not healthy, I am going to do half. I am going to try to do some type of exercise tonight, walking, weights etc. Just a few but a start. I am determined to get this wt off once and for all.

I just finished a ww egg quesadillia with 2 t of salsa. Quite tasty. I have greek yogurt and mixed fruit for a snack. A big peach and some fish sticks for lunch. Dinner is cheese raviolli and a salad.

Ellen, Congrats on your great loss. I hope your bs continues to stay where it needs to be. Sometimes prayer is the only thing left. I know. Hope your foot feels better soon.

Toni, Weekends usually are better for me. Working tends to make me dizzier looking at the screena nd then the desk, etc. Hope we have a few more days to grill out. Doesn't lok like cooler weather coming for awhile. We really need rain.

Crystle, Hope you got up and got your exercise yesterday. I didn't but today is a new day. I liked your smoothie recipe. I may try it with some protein powder. I have trouble eating bananas so that is a good way.

Mercee, hope you had a great weekend. I know you kept up with your exercise and eating.

Talk to you later.

Toni48 10-11-2010 12:55 PM

Howdy ho everyone. Nice week end but can't wait for next week end. My kids are coming from Texas. And hopefully my Grandson is going to get to come from North Carolina. Theres a wedding in the family so everyone is gathering. I'm looking forward to them being here. Lots to do. This evening I get my hair cut. Had a great pork tenderloin last night. Guess its leftovers for tonight.

Solly- Glad you had a good week end. I know you can lose this weight. I've been struggling for months to get back on eating right. Doing good 80% of the time. We've got a chance of rain tonight.

Check back in later....

CountryMom4Him 10-11-2010 01:28 PM

Good morning

Woo Hoo another day. A fresh start. :carrot::carrot:

Solly...you are a rock star!! You will get the weight off. There is not a doubt in my mind you have the umph and the drive to make it happen. Praying that you continue to recover and regain your energy and your strength. Also that you will start to crave those foods which are good for you.

Toni...80 percent is good. This week up that to 81 :) You too got what it takes to make this happen. When that inner voice tells you that you messed up..tell it to hush up you are trying. And get right back where you need to be. How exciting that your family is coming in. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Ellen...Where or where are you this morning? Are you at you WA or walking? How is that foot of yours?

Mercee...You are doing so good. Have you thought about giving yourself a little reward? I want a bike. I'm thinking that would be a good reward for me for keeping up with the exercise. Biking still give me trouble but hopefully one day it will be easier. Hope you are having a super day at work.

(((Everybody)))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Solly 10-12-2010 08:44 AM

Good morning, we have a bid today so thought I would get here early.
Went to bed early last night around 9:15 but I am still tired and dizzy. I think I'll change my name to Dizzy Lix or Dizzy Dame, Might be more appropriate. We walked around 2 blocks last night. DH said I was draging my left foot and thought I was tired. I did go downstairs and did some arm exercises and leg lifts. Nothing to get excited about or time wise but it was something more than I have done. Eating was on track yesterday. Lost lots of water yesterday so that is a start.

Crystle, you are so inspiring and such a good coach. I bike would be good for you. My DD wants one too. I told her to check yard sales first. I decide today that I am going to reeward myself with a pair of new brown slacks. I hate mine now (plus I can't button them) and when I get down to low 180's I am going to get a new pair. Rewards are a good thing.

Toni, it is so exciting that your family is coming to see you. We want to hear all about the visit. You are doing great. I bet no one (other than Mercee) has a 100% legal mark. We can do this.

Mercee, Rewards are a great motivator. I did that the first time I lost weight and it really helped. I love shoes so that would be nice too. You are such an inspiration. You have motivated many people here.

Ellen, I hope you are at WA. How is your foot today? Mine still bothers me. I am going to give it another 3 weeks before I go to the doc and see what it is.

I have already logged my food for today, breakfast and lunch are packed and ready to go. Dinner will be steak for the family and I will have baked fish, some peppers on the grill and something else I can find. going to try to walk and exercise a little tonight. wish I knew where to go to find out what I can do with my back and this stroke. Not sure what my limitations are. Have a great day.

Mercee 10-12-2010 11:04 AM

Mornig ladies:

Had a great weekend but busy. We celebrated our church's anniversary. My hubby and I were off work yesterday and went to a birthday lunch with a friend of ours.
I amd still working out 6 days a week except the week when I had streph I went 4 days. I walked 4 miles with my hubby yesterday on the trail instead of going to the gym. I needed a change of scenery.

Ellen-Glad your glucose levels are improving.

Solly- Glad to see you are getting better. You have been through so much yet you keep going. That is truly a blessing.

Crystle- You have really gotten into gear keep up the good work. You probably would do well with a bike. I only ride the exercise kind. LOL

Toni- Enjoy your visit with your family. It is great when we get to see family.

Yes ladies, I do reward myself I just got 2 new pairs of shoes. I tLove shoes and I have plenty ofpairs to prove it. LOL.

You ladies a re such an inspiration here. I am at the lowest weight I have benn in a very long time. Thank you so much for your encouragment.

Toni48 10-12-2010 11:36 AM

Good morning ladies. Got a good nights sleep at last. Sure felt better this morning. Didn't eat very much yesterday. Just didn't really feel like dinner. So I ended up eating 2 peanut butter waffles. I get a hair cut this evening. I'll be so glad to get this hair out of my face.

Solly- Oh boy girlfriend you are having a time of it. I think its time you treat your self to that new pair of pants too..... Maybe two. LOL..... Thats so good you're back to eating good. Seems like there would be a wealth of information on the internet for strokes. Wish you could get some answers. Keep up the good work....

Mercee- Wow you're still going. Bet its so great to step on the scale. What inspiration.

Crystle- Are you having your coffee too? Whole new day.....

CountryMom4Him 10-12-2010 02:37 PM

((Everybody))

Good afternoon. Thought I'd pop in before my workout this afternoon. I'm feeling a tad lazy. We stayed up way to late last night. My thirteen year old is going to work out for half of the video with me. That ought to make it a lot more fun.

Solly...thank you for being so sweet. I'm sorry the dizziness is still hanging around. I think you are doing great with the exercise. Remember even 10 minutes a day benefits the body. I joined the Dr. Oz lose ten challenge and that is one of the things they advocate.

Toni..I did enjoy a nice cup of coffee this morning. I actually sat with my hubby instead of at the computer so we could enjoy coffee time together. I'd like to get some decaf because I can only drink one of the leaded kind now and sometimes I like to have a second cup of coffee milk for a treat.

Ellen...where are you? Hope all is okay.

Mercee...congrats on being at a new all time low. How neat your hubby walked with you. That is one thing my hubby will not do. He says I walk too fast. I've offered to stroll with him but he thinks walking is boring.

Need to figure out something for lunch. I know when I finish walk walk walking..LOL I"m gonna be hungry.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

CountryMom4Him 10-13-2010 10:56 AM

Crystle, I am so excited about your 2 lbs. You have left me in your dust. I amy look at thta Dr Oz sight and do that challenge too. It's nice to start your day with your hubby.

Mercee, I cn't beleive you are at your lowest wt ever. How much until goal wt? We all need a change in exercise routine. Glad you enjoyed your walk. Mr DH walks too slow for me.

Off to balance my bank account :fr:

Ellen 10-13-2010 09:53 PM

Hello everyone! I am so sorry that I forgot to tell you all I was going to my Mother in Law's for a couple days. We left Monday morning and came back this afternoon...just in time for me to run around and fix two dishes to take to the covered dish at church tonight. I made chicken saute and a raspberry salad. It all got eaten!

I did fairly well at my MIL's ...she was a bit more accommodating of my gluten free diet..though I did cheat a little while there. Not too much...thankfully I had forgotten a package of gluten free English muffins last time we were there, so I had something to eat for breakfast.

I went into town (yes she lives out in the country!) and met up with my husbands cousins daughters. They met every Tuesday for coffee in town at a neat coffee house, and talk about it on Facebook...so I have teased them I was going to show up sometime and they were eager for me to. They are SO nice....I had a great time.

We went to a covered dish dinner Monday night at my MIL's church...it was for their 'senior adults'. We were a lot younger than the folks there, but most of them were people my husband has known since he was a little kid, so it was fun. They all know me, and call me by name and its just bewildering to try and remember who they all are! :)

My foot is still bad...not much improvement. The blood sugar is up and down. Nothing great to call improvement. I may try and get to water aerobics in the morning, even though Tom wants to do a few things ...like to to the mountains one day, and find a neat Indian store he heard about down closer in to downtown.

I will try and get on in the morning and do more catching up. I did not weigh this morning, so I will try and remember to do that tomorrow morning. I have NO idea how that is going...eating has been fairly good, but not perfect.

Toni48 10-13-2010 10:28 PM

Got up early this morning and went grocery shopping. Lots to do before company comes, cleaning, cooking etc. You know how it is. So I'm busy busy. I'm trying to eat right.

Ellen- Nice you had a good time. I finally got the last of my stuff today to do my Indian chicken. May have it tomorrow night. I need to half the recipe, do you think that would be okay?

Solly- Sorry you've had a bad day. Hopefully you're resting tonight and will feel better in the morning. I hate to see anyone go on the biggest loser.

Crystle- WOOPIE two lbs. is so great. You're really starting to see those lbs. go now.

Mercee- I love shoes too! That's such a nice reward. Your walk sounds good.

Well watching Storm Chasers right now so I'll finish up the program.

Solly 10-14-2010 08:38 AM

Good morning ladies,

Feeling much bettr today, still dizzy, but overall feeling better. DD wanted to go to a mexican restaurant here last night. I knew it was not legal so I told her we were only eating half of the burrito and taking half home. I stuck to my guns. Normally I would have eaten the whole thing and been miserable. It was probably over my calaories but I only had 650 for the whole day so I was probably close or just a little over. But that is my goal. I know we are going to eat places that are not legal ao I am going to half things.

Tony, at least you are busy getting ready for company and it keeps you from eating. When are they coming?

Ellen, I thought you might have been out of town. Glad your eating went ok. Hope the scale is good to you.

Off to check out FB for now. Talk to you later.

Ellen 10-14-2010 08:55 AM

Good morning! We went to bed late, and I don't know why I am up so early. I am considering going to the pool but I may skip it again, and pick back up officially on Monday.

This morning was good all around. My blood sugar was just a tad out of range this morning, which was pleasing. I also hopped on the scale to find a two pound loss!!! This puts me into the next decade and I am pretty excited! Plus I slept fairly well last night. Yay!

Off to make some espresso and find some breakfast! Tom just woke up so I better go enjoy his vacation time...it will be back to the daily routine soon enough! :)

CountryMom4Him 10-14-2010 10:53 AM

Good morning

I am tired this morning. Robert's allergies are keeping both of us up at night. :dizzy:

Solly...So glad to hear you are feeling better. Pretty soon the dizziness will be old news. You did a great job at the Mexican restaurant. I have a hard time not eating a whole basket of chips. I just love the chips and salsa.

Ellen...Woo Hoo on losing two more pounds. You are really knocking off the pounds. :carrot:

Toni...Can't wait to hear how your chicken comes out.

Mercee...howdy

I am starvin' like Marvin. Think I'll get and get some breakfast.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Mercee 10-14-2010 12:18 PM

Hello ladies:

Congrats to all the losers. Good job!! I tell you we are on a roll here.
Solly- I am not at my lowest weight ever. I am at my lowest in 10 years. LOL
I did not lose anything this week. I stayed the same. The trainer was not shocked at all. LOL He said my body has to catch up now. I reved up everything another notch to break through. Have a great day ladies. Gotta run.

Toni48 10-14-2010 01:14 PM

Hello, just popping in. My company will be here tomorrow and I've got lots of cleaning and stuff to do.

Solly-Glad you're doing a bit better. Thats a great idea about just eating half. I'm going to remember that. Good tip. My company will be here Friday.

Ellen- A big congradulations on the 2 lbs. Thats great. Can't wait to make my Indian chicken tonight.

Crystle- Sounds like some of us are dragging. I stayed up way to late last night. Now I'm paying for it.

Mercee-Keep up the good work.

Off to get busy....

Ellen 10-14-2010 11:00 PM

I am really really tired, so this will probably be short. We went to the big farmer's market and shopped and had lunch at their cafeteria. The food is always interesting...Tom got LOTS of meat...and I had to help him a bit.

Then we headed down to a real chic area of town to a health food store there that has liquid castile soap in bulk. We got a few things there. Then headed back to the HUGE Indian grocery store one of Tom's coworkers told him about. I could not believe the size of the place..and the prices were really good! ( keep that in mind, Toni! I can send you what you need!)

We came home and while I fixed dinner Tom ran over to Trader Joes and the library. I fixed a collard and navy bean soup, and broiled some salmon. The soup turned out really good. I used little collard plants Tom thinned out of the garden. I felt so good putting them to good use!

Ok, off to beddie bye! good night!

Darn I didn't get to make my Indian chicken tonight. It got to late and I was to tired from working all day. So I'll have to make it next week.

Ellen- Thats so neat you found the big Indian store. I'm only going to get my stuff from you from now on. I've spent way to much in postage for what little I got. And theres nothing here.

Off to bed I go. I've got to get up early and do oh so much.

Good morning ladies. Thank goodness it is Friday. Feeling better today, still dizzy, then again I haven't done much at work yet. Went and got an epidural in my back so hopefully I can walk some. We cleaned house last night so it was dark when we finished and I was afraid to walk in case I fell. Wehave a busy weekend planned. A chili dinner with our "old' friends tonight, we work the mission for lunch tomorrow and then a wedding right after. Sunday we are having bunco on a friends house boat with the guys so it will be fun. Busy time, but since my house is clean I can rest when I need. My DD just called me and told me I left my lunch at home. I had my breakfast, snack and lunch all ready to go today. I had a WW egg quesadillia in the fridge and I have a ww frozen pizza in the freezer I can eat for lunch. Even anticipating my dinner and wine, I am not over my calories by too much. I had a scare this morning. I weighed and I was up 8 lbs. I was freaking. I hadn't done anything wrong (other than a little too much sherbert) but not 8 lbs! My DH has mopped the bathroom and he set the scale square on the tile. I usually weight with it cadi-corned. I turned it back and I was at the same wt. Now which one is right. I already moved it up 8 lbs to refect the doctor's scales. Guess I will have to wait until next week when I go to the dr. to see for sure.

Ellen, Great job on the 2 lb loss. Things are coming together for you. Emjoy your time with Tom.

Crystle, I can eat a whole basket of chips too, I had more than my share believe me.

Toni, Enjoy your company but I know you will.

Mercee, you will get that breakthrough next week I bet. Upping your routine will help. Thirty four pounds is great and you will get the next 34 soon too with the way you are going.

Off to do something. Have a great weekend.

We drove up to the mountains yesterday and spent the day. It was absolutely perfect weather for it. We stopped and got apples, then went to the Chief Vann house, and New Echota. The Vann house is the beautiful brick mansion built by a Cherokee chieftain. It was incredible...he was a very rich and successful man. New Echota was the capital of the Cherokee nation. They were very civilized and progressive. They even had a constitution and a court system. How they were dealt with was horrific.

We stopped at Cracker Barrel on the way home and I got a low carb meal, so I did great! We did some walking around while we were up there too, but my foot has been killing me so I am sure I over did it. :(

We are supposed to head out for dinner at a Mexican place tonight. I may just get a taco salad.

Its another beautiful day here. Its cool, but not too cool, and the sky is totally blue. Makes me so mad that my foot hurts too much to go out and walk in the sunshine.

Oh my gosh what a busy week end. It was wonderful with my son and his family. Seems like this week end flew by. I was so sorry to see them go. And the wedding we went to was beautiful. Out at the old red mill here on a beautiful fall day. The water was bubbling in the spring and the leaves were beautiful along with the bride in her lovely dress. It was a real Ozark wedding. I know one thing I'm pooped and glad to be sitting in my chair with a cold glass of wine. Time for an early night.

Hello everyone! Well, the staycation is over. :( Tom has to go back to work tomorrow. We stayed home all weekend, and did usual stuff. I went to Costco, and did some shopping with my daughter and grandson. It was fun seeing him. He wanted to come home with me and cried when we were parting at Costco. Made me sad and happy at the same time! :)

We went to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner Saturday. It was very authentic. I was pretty stuffed, and I was impressed at how cheap the plates were.

Today was church, then home for dinner. I fixed a recipe I found on line for turkey thighs. It had dried cherries, black olives, leeks, and port wine in it. You cook it in the crock pot. It was pretty good! I served it with a brown rice couscous...(couscous has gluten...sigh) I also made a raspberry salad.

Tomorrow I am going to the market for lunch with a friend. Then we have small group tomorrow night. Someone is fixing Cuban style black beans and rice...and I am taking dessert. I will probably just buy something at the market They have a wonderful dessert bar.

I may try to go to the early water aerobics class. It all depends on whether I wake up in time to get over there! Class starts at 8... I can't go to the later class and make it to the market in time to meet up with my friend.

Hope everyone is doing well! Will check in tomorrow afternoon!

Happy Monday everyone. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was busy buts lots of sitting and then down time when we got home. I actually think I may have taken a turn for the better. I feel better and the dizziness doesn't seem as bad. We will see since I am back at work. Lots of eating and lots of wine so I am back on track this morning.

Ellen, I am so intrigued with Indians and their culture. I wish I could have been with you. Funny how just one foot problem can throw off your whole exercie routine. Guess you can't do anything w/o your feet I hope yours is better soon as well as mine. I want to walk and walk. I didn't see my GS over the weekend. I will be glad when he cries to come home with me.

Toni, I wish your family could have stayed and visited longer. I know how much you miss them. I hope they return soon.

Crystle, I hope your sore throat is much better today. Try a spoonful of honey.

Mercee, hope you had a great weekend. know you kept up with your exercise.

Off to log my food. I do great the beginning of the week. Have a great one!
