Welcome Canadian Mom! Sounds like you are really pushing! Do you give yourself some time off...like one day a week? Be careful about overtraining.
Feel free to join in. We love the company!
Stephie, I don't think your body would go into starvation mode the way you are going...in fact, I remember reading something with Weight Watchers...they had given it a name, where you constantly adjust the calories to fool the body into not getting complacent. You might, on those really low calorie days, however, just give yourself a protein shake somewhere in the day to ensure you are getting enough. 1000 calories is pretty low if you are physically active.
Angel, sorry to hear about the hamstrings...hopefully pain will be shortlived. Glad you are back in the swing of things.
Morgaine, how are rehearsals going?
I have been O.D.-ing on cold medications...took one last night, went to bed early, and of course, was up at 4. Did some triceps, 30 minutes on the treadmill, and now am heading back to see if I can get some more zzzzzs.
Found myself another possible client...now up to four, tho' I am offering them all two free pt sessions and then will charge. I think I need to get a sole proprietorship license...am going to look into that next week.
Tina, how do you attach a picture?...wanted to show you my grandbaby. I can't figure out how to link to a picture on my computer, only one from a website.
I usually have a day where I don't do my sit ups etc or my cardio but if I take a day of and do nothing I can't motivate myself the next day. that's what happened the last time I gave up exercicing. I almost forgot I am from Fredericton New Brunswick.I lived in Emonton for a couple years we moved back tro Fredericton 2 years ago.
Rehearsals are killing me. My schedule is killing me. My scale is killing me.
I work 40 hours a week, rehearse for show #1 (the dancing one) 15 hours a week, rehearse for show #2 (I'm directing) 4 hours a week, work job #2 on the weekends - usually 4-6 hours a week.
I can't wait for this to be over. Show #2 goes onstage Sept 3 - it's a one day thing. Show #1 goes onstage Sept 8th and plays 6 times over 2 weekends. Starting Sept 11th, I'm supposed to start teaching art classes 3 nights a week (3 hours a night). Sept 13th my son leaves for the Persian Gulf.
I'm getting worried that my stress level is going to go off the scale before too long.
Still sitting at 143. Staying on plan.
Yes - I got the red sparkly dress (from ebay) here's a link:
I also ordered one of those "Slim 'n Lift" things to smooth me out so no bulges show under all the slinky dresses I have to wear. it seems I've escaped the number in the show where 2 piece showgirl outfits are required. Not sure how that happened.
Good morning ladies! Well day three of school and so far so good. I am glad that he really like his teacher this year as that makes a huge difference. Yesterday was good food and exercise wise so, crossing fingers that this week the scale will move. Today I have to do weights and my walk. I have been kinda feeling on edge lately with my husband and really hoping it is due to PMS. I hate when I know I am acting pissy but can't stop it. I really need to make a effort to stop it though and not blame it all on PMS. I have one of the most supportive husbands out there and often take him for granted. Today I am going to make a stride towards being the wife I should be to him. Anyway not much going on today house is clean, laundry done, and dinner is leftovers so easy day for me.
Susan I am not sure on how to do the pics my husband did it for me but I will ask him and let you know. Hope you start to feet better soon. Nothing like a cold to bring you down. Have a good day!
Morgaine can I say you are going to be one HOT MAMA in that dress. Wow that is really beautiful. Good luck on all your shows coming up and keep us updated on how they go!
Angel would you figure the day you go back and hit the gym you get hurt. I hope it heals soon for you so you can continue exercising.
Steph sounds like you are doing great with your bootcamp week. I did my 4 mile walk yesterday did you do your run?
Canadian Mom welcome! I am going to have a hard time soon remembering all the names, but the more the merrier I think so come on! You are doing really good it seems so keep up that good work!
Well off to do weights and make the beds! Have a good day ladies!
Well hubby scheduled a surprise aqua massage for us last night. So missed my yoga class...but high tailed my behind to the gym later that night and got in some serious cardio. Ran about a mile and started getting pains around the ovary area? Weird huh? May be ttom coming up. So hopped on the cross trainer and finished out my workout that way. Still need to pick it up a notch to hit my minutes for the month.
Working the at home job today, then have two photos this afternoon, some work to do in the office, cleaning...oh yeah and a strength workout! There is a pilates class tonight I could try if I am feeling adventurous...we will see.
ANGEL - OOOH hamstring strains hurt. My hubby strained both of his hammies last weekend and still walks funny hehe. I can sympathize.
Canadian Mom - WELCOME I still have 8 lbs to go and it is being super stubborn so don't worry most of us are in it for the long haul...
susan - Calorie Cycling is what I think it is called. I would just hate to jack up my metabolism ya know? YAY you on the new client. Isn't it wonderful when you find people to pay you to do something you really enjoy? To attach a pic go to advanced when you are writing your post and I think there is a picture that you can click on that will bring up a box for you to put the url of where you have the picture stored...do you have it online?
morgaine - yay no two piece showgirl outfits. Ya know I can really really feel ya on the stress and working thing. I work two jobs as well both just about full time and just found out we are moving again...gotta find a place and a new job someplace that is over 3 hours away....Stress city!
Tina - I knew you would get that walk in You never disappoint me. I did get my run in, and some extra cardio as well.
I got a silver glittery dress in the mail today (from ebay) and it fit perfectly. My hubby was a little jealous - he said that I've never worn anything that revealing for him...heh..now I"m going to stand on a stage in front of hundreds of strangers in it - go figure. I was pleased to see that I don't really need the tummy flattener support garment like I thought I did.
Hubby came down with pinkeye today - of all things - geesh!
Well this morning i was down a pound but I am not changing my ticker until this weekend (make sure it stays off).I had an ego boost this week. My Dad and his long time girlfriend were in town from Newfoundland and they wouldn't stop saying how goos I was looking. They haven't seen me in 2 years ,since I had my last daughter.
Good morning ladies! I am happy to report that I met my August goal of hitting 145. I lost 4 pounds this week which is good since I was really upset last week I did nothing and worked hard. This was the boost I needed to keep going and finish this. Yesterday was good food and exercise wise and glad to see a week of sticking with it payed off. I will admit though even though my ticker says goal is 140 I am shooting for 135 I think. I just see more then 5 pounds that need to go. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would weigh in the 140's again and the thought of getting into the 130's kinda freaks me out to be honest with you all. I love seeing though that I can do this and I did it not any magic pill or crazy diet just me eating healthy and exercising. Well today I am hoping to finish up a good book and just chill. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Susan I am doing better today! I sometimes have to talk myself into a good mood, but hey whatever works right. I think the weekend being here is helping also. I get overwhelmed really easy so now that school is started and the babies are here and doing good I can relax. Your grandaughter is adorable. You look really good for yourself also just waking up. Hope you have a great visit.
Morgaine you are going to have to wear that dress for you husbands viewing also. Maybe a private show just for him. Hope you have a good weekend!
Steph I can't wait to hear how you did on Monday because you have really been kicking butt this week. Keep up your good work over the weekend and you are going to be one happy chick come Monday!
Canadian Mom it is always really cool when someone who you haven't seen in awhile sees you. I think people who are around us everyday don't notice as much but when they haven't seen you in awhile it is like WOW!! Keep up your good work!
Angel I hope you are feeling better.
Well ladies have a great weekend and lets have good news to report on Monday!
Susan - no, I have between 8 and 10 costume changes. I will do a number, then dash offstage and change really quick and run back onstage for the next number. At one point I wear a swimsuit. Last night I found out there's a strip number. Oh dear. We will strip down to leotards/tights and be hiding behind great big hats while we do it - but the orchestra is onstage behind us and will see the whole thing. ACK!
Tina - Congrats on hitting goal!!!! Hubby is in the orchestra for the show - so he will get to see me in the dress(es) numerous times. The one he was gawking at is a silver sequined dress. Too gaudy for wearing out on a date, but perfect for a show.
I'm not doing well today. I've been crusing along at 143, with a low last week of 141. I THOUGHT I stayed on plan yesterday. AT lunch I went to Arby's and got a low carb wrap. I gto back to the office and looked up the online nutritional info and found that the wrap I had was 42 carbs!!! YIKES! I stayed on plan the rest of the day until late last night when I had scads of choc chip cookies.
Then this morning I had a danish for breakfast. My morning weight was 144.5. I really feel like giving up.
Morgaine hang in there! I know I have asked you this before but is there anyway you could not weigh yourself everyday. I know how hard it is not to peek and every now and then that is fine but everyones weight changes day to day, hour to hour, shoot minute to minute so when you weigh everyday it can be disappointing alot. I really think if you tried for a few weeks to just pick one day to weigh in and followed your weight that way you would be surprised. Hang in there though we all have not so good days but we have to keep pushing forward and you are too close to give up now.
Good morning ladies Well yesterday was another score in the victory column. I ate wonderfully under calories, and got in 45 mins of strength and 15 mins of cardio at Target heart Rate. The only way it could have been inproved is if I hadn't have been a dingbat and forgotten about my stretching. Today I hope to get a really awesome cardio session in (60 minutes worth) oh and then some serious stretching. Hubby is at the office tonight so it should not be hard to find the time.
Susan - that grandbaby of yours is too cute, just look at that smile! And I can tell why you want to be a personal trainer, you even look fit in that photo just getting up in the morning. You can tell it is important to you. Aqua massage is like this machine you go in and it mimics a massage from a person but with pulsing jets of water from different angles at different pressures...you don't get wet, it is all contained within some kind of material. But I HATE actual massages so it was kind of nice not to have someone massaging me. I could enjoy it!
Canadian Mom - Congrats on the NSV, don't you just love compliments when they are true. Not the usual 'have you lost weight' that sometimes you get even when you havent hehe...I really hate that. You have earned your compliments girl, keep it up.
Tina - awww thanks for the kind words hun. I am really trying. I think this has been my best week ever eating and excercising wise. Feels good. Great job on hitting your august goal. But I have to say with all your hard work and dedication I am so not surprised.
Morgaine - I agree with Tina, its fine to peak at the scale everyday, keep you on track. But maybe pick a day that is WEIGH IN DAY...and worry about that number. It will help you be good throughout the week and make those peeks at the scale every morning just a small piece of the puzzle...not the whole thing.
