  • Well ladies, Happy Monday. I have a hella busy week ahead of me. I am starting my own lil bootcamp program this week which should be fun but also hard. I need to knock out some serious minutes to meet my goal by the end of the month. Eating healthy and often also really needs to be a big focus for me.

Tonight I am going to really kick butt at the gym. I am planning on running 2 miles as well as getting in an awesome strength training session and mega stretching. Hubby is away for about 2 hours tonight so should be no problem!

susan - I will def be trying out that lower back exercise thanks! Great job on your awesome on plan week. Lets make it a repeat this week! YAY on the loss!

Morgaine - Congrats on the dress! It sucks that those are the first to go! Mine have stabled out and any inches lost are no longer from those thank god. Dont worry about that one lb...could be a lot of things. Think long term girly!

Tina - love love love the new avatar! The gym pushes me harder than at home. It sounds vain but I like having people see how strong I am or how long I can run.

angel - OMG I would be super stressed too. Just chalk the carbfest up to stress and move on I know you can get back on plan.
  • Good morning ladies! Well today is back to school day for my son. He looked so handsome and grown up when he left this morning! I am biased I know but I have really good looking kids! I hope he enjoys his teacher this year as last year his teacher was not too nice. I am looking forward to getting back on schedule and maybe hitting the shower before 2 in the afternoon. Yesterday was good food and exercise wise. Calories came in way low at 1300 but my stomach was not feeling the best after the dentist. My sister-in-law had twin girls yesterday evening and so far so good I guess. The whole family was worried because she was only 33 weeks so it was really early. I have not heard anymore though since last night so I am hoping that is a good sign. Today I will do weights and do my walk this evening. I love that the weather is cooler in the evening now. It puts a little pep in my step when I am not ready to die from heat exhaution.

Steph a bootcamp week may be just what I need also! I really slipped up over the weekend but I am past that and making this week angelic. You can do this!

Susan great job on the loss! I would start weighing in on your work scale from now on. Maybe your home one is broke. I never can believe with all the exercising you do you never lost weight. Keep up your good work and great job on having a good weekend!

Morgaine I have gone down two cup sizes since losing weight. I don't mind that it is just I wish I could be a bit perker if you know what I mean. I found a great bra though at Victora Secrets called Body by Victora and it does wonders. Glad you found a dress!

Angel I hope everything is going good for you!

Well ladies off to pick up and eat some breakfest! Have a great day!
  • Went to the gym last night, logged 80 minutes. Ate like an angel minus one slice of pizza. Really had a great all around day. Looking for a repeat today. I skipped my weigh in yesterday just did not want to face the bad news awaiting me hehe. So I will be back on track this week and see how it goes next monday.

tina - Congrats on being auntie tina! Bad weekends happen, we can be back on track with each other!
  • Morning all! Not much to report. Did my chest/shoulders/biceps today. Even weighed less on my home scale this morning, after two cardio sessions yesterday, one in the morning and one at night. I really think it is the cardio that is making the difference weight wise. Tonight will not be able to get in my cardio as I am having dinner with a friend. Wll try to be really careful...feel like I am on a roll and don't want to break the momentum.

    Have a good day!
  • well HELLO!!! everyone.....its been awhile but I'm happy to report, my head is finally getting back in the program. Its been really nice to just sit back and read up on the posts and see how everyone is doing BUT NOW ITS TIME to get back OP. Its been prolly about 3 weeks since I was at the gym last. (1 week of after holidays, 1 week of holidays and then 1 week of a nasty head cold) SO TODAYS THE DAY!!! no more excuses!!!

Congratulations to everyone one who lost, everyone who got their excercise minutes in.....and to all of you for sticking through it. And thanks for all of you for hanging in there for me to realize that sooner or later it will catch up to me and I don't want to sit on the sidelines and watch all of you blur by me in the weightloss dept!!!! Here's to a great day!!!
  • Hi there Ladies,
I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I am fairly new to this site and have been shopping around...if you will to a place that feels just right. When I saw the freecycling reference I thought maybe this was it....I am addicted to freecycle. My hubby and I do rental clean ups and I love to give stuff away...lol. Kinda like christmas.
About me...I am 45 with 4 girls and 3 boys...I also have 5 grandbabies....good gig. I live in Spokane Wa. and am a nurse and demolition contractor. I am a little crazy...at least my kids will tell you that. Last year I tried to sell advertising space on my dentures on ebay. I was all over the tv....so much for my 15 minutes of fame...and in the papers several times. It didn't sell but what a great time and great revenge on the kids....lol. I am off to take a swim in the river. Hope to get to know you all. Leslie
  • Welcome Leslie!

    Good Morning Ladies! (afternoon, actually)

Well, so much for feeling guilty about not doing any exercise. I took my workout clothes to work yesterday so I could go to the gym in the hour I had free right after work and right before my first rehearsal. My editor called me and had a last minute assignment, so instead of working out, I did a photo shoot.

BUT - the rehearsal was really a workout. We did a jazzy routine with chairs and I was all over my chair. Sitting backward on it doing leg kicks, laying back and draping myself over it and then getting up quick and doing more leg kicks, climbing up on it and jumping off - all in time to the music. My back, legs and abs got quite a workout. I can really feel it today. On top of that - I've been working on a tap number where we have these Irish jig looking moves. I keep having to rehearse that part over and over because it's a little tricky the way you have to keep bringing one leg up in the air. Every time I do it - I smash myself in the front of the shin with the tap on the other shoe - OUCH!!! Now I have little bruises all over the front of my shins.

Down a pound today. 6 more to go till goal!
  • Morgaine, you're going to have to wear black stockings to cover your bruises. Sounds like a real workout, but fun!

Hey Leslie, hope you join in, love to have more people along for the ride. And...the crazier the better...to keep us revved up. Am a grandma as well, but only one so far, tho' this one's so good I won't complain if this is it. Sounds like you live life to the fullest...more power to you! I love Freecycle...have gotten alot of my weight stuff that way...and grandbaby visits stuff. Just seems when I need something, I go on line, and there it is...same with shopping...when my nose says it's time to hit the thrift stores, I always go and find a treasure. anyhow, welcome!

Tina, did you take pictures of your son? Congrats on the sister-in-law's new babes.

Stephie, do you mean 80 minutes of cardio? If so, I am sooooo impressed! I thought your feet start tingling after a little while? I've been trying to work through my feet tingles...ignoring them and just keeping going.

Ok, my break time is over...back to the grind.

    S.
  • Good morning ladies! Yesterday I went to see the new baby girls. I was really worried that they would look weird being so small but they are really cute. I don't know if you all have ever seen a premie baby but it is really weird. All my babies were between 8-9 pounds when they were born so to see a baby that weighs 3 pounds kinda freaked me out. They are doing really well though, breathing on there own. They do have feeding tubes right now but they are hoping this week to start trying to feed them on there own. I did not get my walk in last night since we left at 6 and got home at about 10, but I did do weights and stayed in my calorie range. Today I will get a walk no matter what. My son had a great first day. I am so glad his teacher seemes really nice. I do feel bad for him though since his allergies are acting up so badly. Every year at this time they go nuts on him and he is miserable for a few weeks. Hopefully he will start feeling better soon because I know that is the pits to be a snuffley with itchy eyes and throat.

Welcome Leslie! Susan is right the more the merrier.

Susan I agree cardio is the key! I always drop weight when I kick that up a notch. You are doing great though so just keep it up!

Steph good idea not weighing in until next week. I know for me when I see negative results it really gets me depressed which usually turns to eating things I should not eat. Great job on the exercise though this week it is really impressive.

Morgaine are you in a play, musical, dance recital? It sounds really neat whatever it is. I watch all those shows Dancing with the Stars and So you Think you Can Dance and always wish I could do a third of what they are doing. I know it is a great workout though because the dancers bodies are to die for and they always look like the are breathing really heavy when they are done.

Angel I am so glad you are back with us. Sometimes we need a break from it all. It gets so overwhelming with how much of this and how long of this that we do need to step back sometimes. You sound like you are ready though to do this and that is wonderful.

Well ladies I hope you all have a great day!
  • hello, hello, hello! I am feeling soooo good. I weighed myself this morning on the dratted scale and damn if it didn't reward me by reading 158! All this cardio is paying off, even on my scale which doesn't particularly like me and has a mind of its own.

Have the beginnings of a lousy cold which is a bummer as I'm scheduled to go visit the grandbaby on Friday. Will go anyhow, but won't be able to give all the smooches and hugs I like to give.

Woke at 4:30, went to the gym at 5 for 35 minutes of cardio, then back to bed for an hour. Will try to get in some floor leg exercises tonight...my arse is still too big for some of my pants...can get the leg parts up, but it jams at the rear. There's this one exercise that's supposed to be really good for the glutes. You lie with legs up on a step or chair, then raise and lower your butt slowly, being careful not to arch the back. Works both the glutes and the upper fatty part of the leg.

Tina, glad your son's day went well, and so glad the twins are doing ok.
  • Tina - oooh twin baby girls - how wonderful!!

Well, ladies - today I hate my scale. It's up to 143. I guess I can't worry about it. I've been dancing like a fiend and my whole body feels like it got hit by a truck - I am so sore- but I'm getting an awesome workout.

To whoever asked - I'm a dancer in a communty theatre show that's all music (singing and dancing).

I had 3 Slimfast lowcarb shakes yesterday plus a Club Frescata sandwich from Wendy's. It's been ages since I had a sandwich with bread and I figured it wouldn't hurt me. I'm not sure that it's what put me up 2 pounds today, but there you are. I also haven't gone to the bathroom in DAYS - so I figure that's part of the problem.

    Rats!
  • Yesterday was day two of eating like an angel. I actually had to look around for something to eat when I was not all the hungry so I wouldnt be crazy under on my calories. Did not make it to the gym but will count this as my day off this week and move on.

Today will be super busy. Have the at home job to work, then a team photo this afternoon followed by a softball game to shoot. Then have to fit in cleanin my house and getting a great workout in. Oh well should be tired enough to fall right asleep tonight hehe.

I have a question for your girls...how long does it take for your body to go into starvation mode? I mean I had a couple of very high calorie days. Then these last two if I had not been trying not to go too low I would have ended right around 1000 calories. Is it a law of average...as long as I dont average out to less than 1200 I should be fine or do you think you literally need to eat 1200 a day or else...?

susan - you are on a roll! Nope not 80 mins of cardio, 30 cardio, 30 strength and 20 stretching...I heard if you do more than 60 minutes of cardio in one bout your body stops burning fat and starts burning muscle.

angel - Just get back into the game girl, we know you can do it. Just make a pact with yourself and realize you are worth it.

leslie - Welcome The more the merrier. Thats hilarious about the advertising space on ebay.

morgaine - congrats on another lb gone forever! Sounds like dance was a workout...

tina - 3 lbs is so tiny, I cannot even imagine. Great that they are doing so well though. Your poor little guy, allergies are the pits. Alright I am holding you to it, tomorrow I am going to come on and say I DID my run, and you better be bragging about getting your walk in. Its official now hehe...
  • Hey girls....I'm checking in also!! Yesterday was a great day for me, first in a long while for staying OP AND.....I even made it to the gym. That being said though, I hurt myself. I was more gung than ho and strained my hamstring muscles!!! Silly really, thought I could do a bendover excercise with weights when I should have not used them. Today is a killer....just walking hurts (and don't get me started on the stairs!!) but went walking outside (nice and slow pace) with a gf and tried to stretch things out a bit. After walking, we caught a bite to eat at subway.....a nice light lunch and very little temptation. So far so good with day #2. I'm feeling much better about being back on track.

tina....3 lbs IS very small. I bet they look like miniature dolls. How is SIL and brother doing? still shell shocked??

Susan...you get the early bird award!!! wow, getting that excercise in and then making it back for another hour of sleep. You are my hero!! Hope you get over those sniffles....can't have the baby catch it now.

stephie....yup you're right....I am worth it!!! and it just took some thinking and talking myself BACK INTO IT!!! I can't answer your starvation mode question, but I'm counting on you to tell me about your run TOMMOROW!!

morgaine...when is the start of the show? did you finally get your sparkly red dress? I might have missed that. So you're a hoofer!!! the show must go on!!
  • Hi I am new here saw the title of the thread and had to look Well I have been here almost a month.....Morgaine you are probably building muscles It looks like most of you are almost there I still have the 15 to lose. I hope I am as succesful as you guys are. Right now I am doing 60 mins in the morning-30 mins crunches, push ups ,squats, weights etc....and 30 mins cardio and some days I get another 20 -40 mins cardio at night.
  • Hi Canadian Mom!! Where abouts do you live? I'm orginally from the Ottawa Ontario area. As a matter of fact, I just visited my family there 2 weeks ago!!! Sounds like you are doing all the right things,....excercise wise that is. Post often.
