Default Hey There

Hey E verybody-- I was gone for a few days and came home with a sore throat. I hope you are feeling better Michaela... Lynock you are doing really good with your wt.loss and walking . you will love the results. I did only fair this weekend. Ate wrong but did get in my walking. I will try to get into a good routine the rest of the week.
I went to see Sawyer Brown on Sat. He was really good. With all the energy he has he won't worry about wt. at least for a few years.
Have a great day.... Joanne

Michaela. I hope your feeling better. Vomitting and Nasuea are the worse!! How does the yoga make you fell? Is it for exercise, stretching?
With the large weight loss last week, I splurged a little this weekend...but it ended up alot. Start back on bad habits...and!!!
This is my week to gain too. Every three weeks, I gain 1-2 pounds, then usually loose double the next week..just water gain, but this week it looks like I'll gain 4 pounds...most of it real!!! Well...I'll just start over. Still walking which helps. Silly choices!!
JoanneD, love that country music. Seeing Vince Gill next week. And this weekend it's (I know) Erin Tippen (?sp) and the one that sang the booty song...he's on Doc now...he's name escapes me. My sister works in Manchester, NH, and her boss gave her the tickets...of course we will use them...music is music!!!
Good loses to all

Default Hey

Hello Everybody- I didn't walk yesterday. I have a really sore throat and didn't feel up to it. I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow so I guess if it isn't better they will help me out. You know even though I didn't feel like walking ,I felt guilty for not doing it. I guess I am just so used to it.
Michaela I hope you are much better.
Lynock , I have been hooked on country music since I was a 12 years old. I used to listen to it every sat night when I was growing up. We had no T.V. in those days. My husband and I watch all the country music shows now. I never liked rock and roll or any of the other crazy stuff they have now. I am a rel country girl.
Got to get busy , so you have a great day... Joanne

Default walkin to music

Hi!
I am new to this site but really enjoying it. I have been walking foe a couple of weeks and I use walking music tapes from sportsmusic.com and they are grat for keeping me motivated. I have started at only 30 minutes per day ( the odd day I go out twice) and plan on joining WW in Sept. I have 100+ to lose and I am also 56 years old so I am starting slowly. I would love to join others to keep track of how many miles we put in per week/month whatever. As long as our weather cooperates I should be able to walk everyday
Cheers Diana

Default Hey There

Welcome Denwomen- I started walking several years ago to help me lose weight and to get my colesterol down. I walk from 3.5-4 miles every day. I started at 1/2 mile and 212 lbs. I thought I would not make it again. I have lost down to 150 lbs.I am 68 years young so I guess we are never too old To renew ourselves. I joined Weight Watchers, and they have a great program. Why are you waiting till Sept. to join? Do it now you won't be sorry.I want to lose 10 more lbs and then I will try to be happy with that. I use CD's with a lot of energy. Country , soft rock ,enigma. etc.
Keep talking to us . I love these sites . They help me so much . I know we all can help each other reach our goals.
How are you Michaela ? I hope you are feeling better and eating healthy. Did you walk today?
Hi Lynock...
Bye for now .. Everyone have a great weekend...Joanne

Thanks for the welcome, Joanne D
I have been putting off joining WW because I want to be sure that I will follow through. I am not the most motivated of persons. Also because I live on a small island that would require me to take the ferry then a 25 km. drive to the closest town that has meetings, I can't be too flexible. They only have one morning meeting, the other two are at night and I don't want to be taking that trip in the winter. I am trying to stick with my walking although sometimes I have to force myself out the door, I guess i am just lazy. As far as the dieting goes I am home alone most of the time as my husband works 7 days a week, 60+ hr. a week and I am going to have to prepare myself by having snacks ready for those times when I am just bored. I really need to lose the weight, though, my dr. agrees and I have a lot of heart disease history in my family. aaaalso, I'm tired of being out of breath when I do anything. Sometimes the whole thing just seems too intimidating! I hope with support I can do it. Thanks for listening. Diana

Default Hey There

If I find that at home site I will put it on for you. If anyone else out there knows it maybe they will also.Denwomen-Diana, Don't look at this with the big picture in your mind. Look at it as a new way of eating. Healthy. I joined Weight Watcher at least 12+ times . I lost count. I didn't have too much staying power either. I still don't ,that is why this has to be a way of life for me. This time around I only had the free snacks in the house to eat. I gave all the chips etc to the birds. My hubby had to do without too. It was good for him too. When I got nervouse and wanted to eat I found something to do. I made sure to walk everyday and slowly increased my time and length of walking. I never looked at the end goal. Take it one pound at a time. Set your goal for a week to lose something. It does not matter if it is 1/4 lb. Decrease your fats. and high protien foods. There is a Weight Watcher program for at home. I don't know the site but it is on the net.It will seem to be a hard thing to do ,but it can be done. Just think how thrilled you will be with every lb. you lose. We are here to help each other... If I find the site for at home program for WW I will put it on and if one of our other friends finds it maybe they will too.
Keep walking and never give up....Joanne

Angry hi there

Joanne D - thanks for listening. I did run across the WW at home site somewhere too, but I'm not sure how I would do all on my own - I think I need to know I will be accountable to the group. I'm really scared to take the plunge, I am a perfectionist at most things and I really get down on myself when I don't do what I think I "should". I finally bit the bullet and confronted that scale yesterday and actually was surprised that I only weighed 250, I thought it was closer to 270! Anyway I would like to get down to 160 at least, and I know I can do it, I've done it before although that was on Nutrisystem 10 ywars ago and it all came back. I walked 1 mile yesterday but it was hard because it was hot and 1 o'clock. Usually I wait until the sun goes down and it's cooler. The previous few days I did 1 1/2 miles so I felt discouraged yesterday. I' m so hard on myself.
Michaela, I haven't "talked" to you yet but I ,too, find I don't eat as much when I have others around snd as I am alone much of the time, I'm going to have to get used to eating properly when I go on WW. in Sept. Good luck to you and let" keep on walking and supporting each other
Cheers Diana

Default Hi

Hey There
Denwomen , OK you jumped the first hurdle and faced the scales. . Don't be discouraged if you don't do as much one day as you do another. Keep in mind "every day is a new day." If you slip forget it and start again.
I did not walk yesterday. I was not feeling so good with this congestion I have. I walked 4 miles this evening. Boy is it hot. It was 92 here today. We have a lot of humidity here in Florida.
Hi Lynock How was Vince Gill ? I say him Sat.On the Opry show. He is so cute. If I was 40 years younger I might act like a nut and make a fool of myself. I can still look though.
Micheala .How are you doing.. ? Lets hear from you.
Bye for now.........Joanne

Default Hi

Hi Liz-- This is a great site. With the summer and all it has been a little slow. Welcome. You have done well with your weight loss and now you are at the halfway mark. Keep up the walking better yet try to increase your time and distance. I lost 57 lbs with the help of WW and walking. I am now trying to lose a added 10. It is not easy. My body says enough! It seems to be fighting against me. HA I don't give up too easy.. You can do this. Have a good weekend and if you slip just go right back to it.
You are enjoying some nice cool air up there. It is in the 90s still here...
Bye for now...Joanne
