Default Hey

Hey There- It sounds like you girls are doing really good ,with your walking. Keep it up .You will love the results. I walked 3+ miles yesterday evening. I went out to the beach and my husband picked me up. I have made the walk there and back with my daughter. It is a little too much but I would never let her know. She is amazing! She can do 1 hour wts etc ,then the bike. then 4 miles on the treadmill or outside and just break a sweat. I doubt there is an ounce of extra fat on her. I wish I had her willpower. She helps me alot when she is around. But she lives 5 hours away. Now my son. !!I gained 3lbs eating at his house sunday. But I still love him... What a catch he would be for some lucky girl..I wish he would find someone.
Happy Walking.. Joanne

Good job on the walking Michaela. I just got up and slept a bit to long to walk this morning, but I am packing my health club bag so I can go after class today. I will have from 11-1:30 free to work out and then PT at 1:30 which is pretty much a workout too.

I have my food all planned out and am going to make a success of DAY 3. I really loved your 30 day challange too.

Default Walking

Hi All- I didn't get to walk yesterday ,we had some really good rain. I did walk on the treadmill today for 3 miles(1 hour). I have been doing something different today. I ate 21points and I also fiquired out that it added up to almost 1200 cal. Ofcourse it isn't bedtime and between 7and 11 pm is my worse time. I will not find this easy this weekend as I am going out of town. But next week I will see how it works for me.
I did so well when I was losing my bulk of wt. and now I am getting into all kinds of mischief. I must lose another 10-15 lbs for my own sanity Maybe then I will quit beating myself up about it. Any suggestions??
Everybody have a great weekend...Joanne

HIT MY 10% tonight!!! I needed to hit the 27 pound mark...made it to 28 pounds even. New goal is to lose 50 pounds by August 25th. I think that is managable! Next few weeks are critical, will be out of commission after July 16th for acouple of weeks. I'm going to miss walking I think! No I know!! Like listening to my tunes!!
Good night all

Great job on hitting your 10%.I just wish I could say that I lost 10 pounds.
I am always glad to hear of others success then it doesn't seem so impossible for me to do it.

Of course you'll get there. The less you have to lose, the harder it is...but it's not impossible. My MD told me the first 50 pounds would be easier to lose then the last 50. Yeah I need to lose 100 pounds. I started at 277, need to get to 170. I'm at 249 now!! I started 12 weeks ago, so I think I'm doing ok. Thank goodness I'm tall. Even as heavy as I am, when I tell people how much I weigh they look at me amazed. My sister Karen is two inches taller than me at 5.11 and she weighs 170 now...and slender. Sister Brenda is 6feet 2 inches and weighs 190...now she is just skinny!!! Just keep walking!!! and watching those pointsl

Just finished with my am "stroll" I have to keep adding on blocks to keep it at least 35-40 minutes. Today was an 8cent walk!!

Default YOU GO GALS!!!

It's so inspiring to see what you gals are accomplishing.

One thought - and this one is directly from recent experience...

Make sure you GENTLY stretch (ESPECIALLY THE CALFS, HIPS AND BUTT) about a 1/3 of the way into your walk (once the muscles are warmed up) and then at the end. Especially if your doing a workout that's intense for you.

I've been a Walker (Mentor) for the past 4 years with a group called the LA (Calif.) Leggers. It's a marathon training group. And we've been fortunate to have a number of coaches and speakers guiding us.

I've done a few Marathons, and now am back to what I consider a more sane training regimen. Still intense though.

But I was impatient and cocky and "forgot" to stretch after two intense workouts (sat. and mon.) and tweaked my lower back. So now after paying for a Physical Therapist to tell me what I should already know, I'm taking it easy and STRETCHING!!!

Joanne - you are amazing Losing 57 lbs. and walking 18-21 miles a week is awsome. (I'm 45 by the way and orig lost 30 lbs.) I do about 15 miles on average a week. And am back to basics with WW to lose the 10 pounds I've gained.

For anyone who's intersted in using the Weight Watcher Journal, Check out the Maintainence / Lifetime Thread: 12 Week Journal Diary Challenge, I started . Writing down what I eat seems to be the only way for me to keep to WW program.

Thanks again. And keep it up gals. I too started with 15 min 2ce a week and going very slowly. It works!

Patch, please define "stretch". (esp, the butt) No seriously, I walk 3-5 miles per day, I do slow down about the last 1/4 mile and walk slower and start the first 1/4 mile slow too. I also find, that if I walk "too" fast, my shin (only on the right leg) hurts. I stop for a minute shake the leg, then slow down a little and it goes away. Does anyone else have this problem? How do you make it go away?
Didn't walk today..boo hoo. Hard to walk when you recieved morphine the previous night in the ER. They are moving my surgery up. Was suppose to be July 16th...Looking at maybe Monday or Wednesday of next week. Thank goodness...then things can get back to normal (or at least back to the way it was LOL) Women can't live on percocet, and walk in a straight line!!!
Good luck walking ladies
Lynn Marie
hopefully the weather will hold tonight so I can at least get my evening walk in.
