Liz,
Don't be disappointed if you don't see a difference tomorrow!! I didn't see any difference for about 2 weeks after I started walking...and then wow!! Good luck with weigh in.
JoanneD, wow 68 isn't old!!! Mum is moving to Florida to Largo, in about two weeks. She can't wait to start walking down there. At her house in NH...it's all hills, and although she loves to walk, the hills kill her. She wants to lose about 15-20 pounds, she's tall too, 5'8", and has always been a size 10-12 and recently went up to a size 14, and her blood pressure with it. Both her and Dad, have gained a little weight since he went down to Florida in October. Ya think because the are only cooking for one.....but Mum says she's bored without him...sooo......!! Dad works at the hospital at the base in Tampa, and he's been walking at the hospital (air conditioned ya know) He's getting ready to retire but not until next April. He's just about your age, continues to work until Mum gets down there. They plan on spending the winters in Florida, and the summers visiting in either Oregon, Montana, New Hampshire, or with me in Mass. Should be intersting!!
Good walking to all

Hi everyone....well who knows what caused what but I am down 2 lbs for a total of 39.2 lbs....so about 30 to go. Been up and down 1-2 lbs the past several weeks, hopefully this is the push forward that I needed....wallked last night with my 3 year old in the stroller and my 9 year old running behind....I really can walk fast! Was mad at her for sneaking so I told her, "Do what you have to to keep up"and she did great......so maybe we will all get in shape in the process, 3 year old even ran with the yorkie (3 lbs soaking wet) from time to time.....they sure fell asleep fast too! I'm sure my neighbours think that I have lost my mind.........NO I HAVE LOST 39.2 LBS!........Have a good weekend everybody! Liz in Canada

Default Hey

Hey Lynock... It is nice that your Mom is moving to Florida. I doubt it is because she is tired of cooking for one. Largo is a nice area. It is about 20 miles south of me. My sister is making the move the end of this month. She move to Ny Over 30 years ago and we have not seen each other very much. One time was 15 yrs. Now she will live in the same town as I. We will have to get to know each other all over again. I feel we will be good for each other.
Liz. Who cares what your neighbors think? You lost 2 lbs and you are developing a closeness with your children. Keep it up ,you will love the results.Liz you know for every 20 min. you walk you get a pt.
Hi Micheala- Tell us about your week.I lost 2 lbs. I worked outside yesterday for a couple hours and walked my usual 3.5 miles so I racked up 9 pts. Got to go...See you all later...Joanne

I have had a good week.My size 16 jeans are fitting better and better every day.
A friend and I are trying to help each other stay away from pop.We are having a hard time with the caffine withdrawls. One of us gets really bad headaches and the other gets really moody.

Default Hi

Hey Michaela ,It usually takes about a week to get over caffien. I tried but still use a little. You are doing well. You soon will be into a size14. I had a pair of 16 in my closet for 15 years untill I got busy and lost wt. Now I can wear a 12 ease but prefer 14 reg. I still like lose clothes.
Hi Lynock and Liz. Hope you had a good weekend. I ate all wrong today and did not walk. I needed a day away from it all. I don't feel a bit guilty either. Well maybe just a little. I will be right back into the grind tomorrow.
Bye for now...Joanne

Default Hi

Hello Liz- I see I was not alone and out of balance this weekend. Sorry about your friend. We never get used to losing someone no matter how many years we are in thr field. I worken in a nursing home my last 15 yrs of nursing. I was really burned out the last year.
I gave all my larger clothes away about a year ago. I had my sister come in and we bagged them up and she took them to her Tops group. Now I am making new ones. Keeping your journal is a good idea. I try to write down everything I eat. That is a good way to know when to stop.
Hello to all . Have a great day. Joanne

Joanne thanks for the note...actually the fellow that died was a very good friends father and we knew him as well, he even helped build our deck.......to make matters harder he was a patient of mine as well.......

Have walked today once and am heading our again right away, I'm walking my butt away but need to get rid of the stomach, some sit ups might be in order

Added up my points and discovered that I didn't actually do so bad, I never add in how many extra's I get for activity either......never have, maybe I should start.......

OK, take care and talk to you soon.....

Didn't walk this weekend, due to high humidity (any excuse), but walked Mon & Tues. As far as eating....doing okey dokey for Sunday on....scale will tell. But like you all....don't feel guilt...will just start again today!!!
Liz...good going!!! When ever my nephews are visiting, they walk with me!! Austin tries to walk in from of me, as we always find money!!! I push my 3 year nephew every Friday night...he loves it...."go go" he says over and over and over...for the entire 45 minute walk. If I have to stop to cross the street...he starts all over again. Keeps me motivated!!!
Keep on Walking (feel like the old slogan...keep on trucking!!)

Default Hello

Hello to all...I did not walk yesterday as I was so involved with watching the awful things that are happening . I did walk today...on the treadmill in front of the tv. Normally I do not watch too much tv. Now I am glued to it. I pray that this does not get worse. Losing a pound right now is so far out there.
Hope you all stay safe...Love ya...Joanne

I can't watch the tv anymore. I work out of Mass General Hospital, and we are on alert. I'm a Case Manager, and we've been instructed to place any patient not needing acute care into short term rehabs. Yesterday we placed over 200 patients. (this is in the event survivors needed the beds...but it doens't look like there are many left...NY can handle them) Boston has been so surreal. You don't realize how noisy the planes are out of Logan until they aren't flying!!! It is so quiet, so when one of the military jets flies over...everyone looks (but you can't see them only hear them). My husband and I keep waking up, when they fly over...My Dad was/is Air Force, and until I was 18, we always lived on an Air Base. Either in England or Montana, so the jets is not an unfamilar sound..but still.
On a different subject..it seems kinda disrespectful. Weigh in was yesterda...off my prednisone...so the weight loss of the last two weeks of only .5 pounds finally caught up. 5 pounds this week, making the grand total to 49 pounds!! I missed the 50 pound magnet this week...but next week is only 6 days away.
Lisa Marie...great job!!! I'll have to follow your lead once winter starts. What is the name of your tape? Does any one else have tapes that they would recommend..don't want to put the cart behind the horse...but I know New England winters...and we are due for a doosey this year!!!
Liz, have they opened the airports in Cananda yet. I'm suppose to be visiting Ontario (Cambridge to be exact) at the end of October, but the plan has always been to drive. Have a good friend Kathy.
KEEP ON WALKING, AND LOVE TO ALL

Default Hey There

Lyn Marie- I think this thing has upset me and probably many others more than we realize. My old stomach problem has kicked in. I keep watching the TV though as I am hoping for survivors. As a nurse I know how false that thinking is.
Hello Babyboo. Yes what is the name of your tape. I have been concidering some tapes that would be easy for me. I need floor exercise that are not impact. I have severe osteo arthritis. I walk everyday. Yesterday and today will be on the treadmill. We are expecting a storm and rain. Nice to have you with us. 13 1/2 lbs in 2 months is a good wt. loss. Good for you. Keep up the good work.
