I enjoy just getting out there and running, Hubby and I run together, so it is a great bonding adventure for us, although he finishes before me. We have a great time competing against ourselves and each other, hoping to better our times, 1 second better is better right? We have run numerous 5K's in the past, but we have our first 10K coming up in 27 days, we are so excited for the new challenge. Get out there and run your first race, I guarentee you will become addicted. We have made numerous friends in the running community that I would never have met had I not run, now we are looking forward to seeing each other in Feb. The running community is a special one where everyone wants to see everyone finish regardless of time. You are all there for a common goal, to finish not necessarily to be the first one to cross the line. Go enjoy yourself and you'll be signing up for the next one before you leave your first.Good luck, happy running.
Wow, everyone has done great this month. So many of you surpassing goal and even setting new ones. Great Job!
This weekend was filled with basketball and Cub Scouts. I didn't actually overeat, but Sat's main meal was 2 slices of thick crust pizza and yesterday's was McD's fried chicken sandwich and a small fry. Thankfully there was open gym at the school last night so I got in 3 miles around the halls and up and down the stairs. Most of the puffy over salted feeling is gone.
26.56/40 4 days to hit 14 miles...iffy but possible. Anything's possible right? Last workout i hit the 4 mile mark and i thought i was going to die. I remember when i could do 7-10...guess it's motivation to get back to that!
Aaargh!!! Darn weather! It rained all Saturday night and Sunday morning so that derailed our Sunday morning 4 mile walk. By evening (when we were done with our weekend chores) it started again so no evening walk. This morning we awoke to tremendous winds that aren't subsiding. Let's hope for 1 mile tonight and my usual 2 mile run for Tuesday and Thursday. I'm certain I'll make my 50 mile goal but I was really hoping I'd surpass it.
L, sorry to hear your son isn't feeling well. Healthy vibes coming his way.
Woo hoo, it is finally sunny and 41* ABOVE zero here in the heartland. A friend and I got out and did a 4.5 mile loop that I'd never done before. It was terrific. The roads were still snowcovered and slippery when we went out this morning so the hills were a little tricky yet but, the temps and the sun just made me smile. Pretty windy too, we were making cracks about printing NIKE on our behinds and doing a commercial. The winds really made it feel like we were just doing it, but it was WARM. Yes oh yes it's warm.
1.7 miles - ran out of time at the gym. That was 1/2 mile before training, a 9:10 mile and .20 cooldown. I have never run that fast before, it was awesome!
We finally had weather above freezing today..got out there and did 3 miles. Hopefully the weather will hold out for a few more days so I can get all my running goals met. Congrats to everyone who surpassed their January goals, Great job!!!!
