OOOOOHLove---hope you were able to resist! Keep some of Murray's Cookies on hand (Guilt-Free Oreos, as I call them) Helps me get through the cravings. Steph---my endo said that higher readings in the morning are normal for NIDDM because of inactivity (aka sleep). I have the same problem and was getting a little freaked out. 120-130 isn't horrible. As a matter of fact, it used to be considered normal! Ah how times have changed
Still coughing up ookys, but feeling better. Going to try to go back to work tomorrow. I sort of threw my program out the window while I've been sick--but am determined to resume it tomorrow.
For those of you in the cold regions---warm and sunny---56 degrees today
rosey i have the same problem with my sugars high in the morning, it is called dawn syndrom. it is quite common. it is still cold here also. stress can affect your bs.
love2 hope you get by that choc, craving!! i used to do that!
k good to hear you are felling better.
hi everyone else. welcome to those who are new.
Goodmorning! I made it through Saturday, but not Sunday. Sunday night I broke and had a little chocolate. Not bad though, and I did get up this morning and ran 2.7 miles (mild justification).
So today WILL be better.
So, what are those Murray's cookies? Guilt free oreos? They sound good...
Thanks I will do that, I will try to come in once a day.
Let me introduce myself, I am married have one daugther, out of school and on her own, and two dogs.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 7 yrs ago and have been doing a pretty good job controlling it with exercise and oral medications. Its not until recently that my fasting blood sugars have been going wacko on me. One day its 180 and the next 133. So, here I am needing all the support I can get.
This seems like a very informative site and glad that I found it.
Hi, Rosey, K, Pat and Ca Deb. Welcome Emmi. My morning blood sugars have been high recently - 150s and 60s. I had gotten them down when I was on program, now that I've fallen off the wagon they're up. they also go up when I'm stressed. Last month when I had my wallet stolen they were really high. Emmi - have you done something different lately that has made them go crazy? K - chocolate is good for you in small doses. Good quality bittersweet chocolate without all those nasty transfats that are put in most candy bars, is the best. We all deserve a little treat now and then.
La Deb - you must be in Texas. My prayers are with you and your dil that everything works out with the baby.
Good morning all. It's good to see everyone is trading advice. I'm really busy right now with doc. appts. and getting ready for the baby shower this weekend. So far we still have the baby in the oven keeping fingers crossed. And I'm sticking pretty close to plan. Even haveing a large green salad on the menu for the shower. Got to run I'll check back later.
Deb
Hi, Deb and Love. Glad to hear the baby is doing okay. Will keep her/him in my thoughts. Good work on staying on program. Me? Alas no. But I am thinking about it a lot. Love, Whew, you made it through the cravings. Next time it will be easier.
Good morning! I woke up this morning with a sore throat on just one side. So, I took a little airborne and hit the gym for a run anyway. I figured I didn't need any more excuses to derail my progress. I ran 2.84mi in 30 minutes. What a high exercise is in the morning!
Well I'm new and just thought I would jump in and say hello! Sounds like you all are doing great!
I have had the same problem with my morning blood sugar being high, usually around 125-140 and it drives me nuts. I got diagnosed with type 2 last March and my HA1C was 11.8%... throughout the summer though I got it down to 5.3% and accidentally gained some weight in the process. I am dreading getting my lipid profile done again and am worried that my HA1C isn't going to look so great. I am trying to get motivated to get in a fitness program of some kind, and this place sure looked like a good start to me!
I am thinking about ditching my PCP as far as diabetes goes and finding a endocrinologist... but I was wondering if it would be worth it.
