  • Rosey - I should be spring cleaning too but why do today what you can put off till tomorrow? Maybe I'll go to the movies. I should sit down and try to get my mind in gear to get back on the wagon. I'm going to have a go with the insurance company next week to try to get the HMO's decision reversed on the medical fast. It' probably pointless. They are all locksteped together to see what they can deny you. Argh! Anyway, it's warming up here a bit and we are having a springy day. Angie, congrats on the weight loss. Keep it up. Glen - does that mean you collect matchbooks? Hope you resist temptation over the weekend. Rosey - get those card orders done so you can go out and play.
  • Good Idea
I agree with you on the tommorow part. I had a long day my store got coolers today and I am waiting for the contracters to come and put elec. to them But it will be fine. • Hello everyone,
New to the board here. My name is Melissa and I am 26 years old. I have Type 2 diabetes and am trying to lose weight so I may concieve a child within the next two years. I was 228 pounds and have lost 28 pounds. I would like to weigh around 135. I am not sure what else to post but will get back to you all later.

    Melissa
  • Welcome
Hi Mellisa how are you? I also have type 2 and I have been going to Weight Watchers and it has helped to keep my sugar down. I am on the flex plan and I have lost 17 lbs so far I have been going for two months you need to take it off slow and remember we are all here for you.
  • Sorry I spelled your name wrong my bad
  • No problem nosugarmomma,
I am really on no typical plan. I am just setting goals and trying to reach them. For example, eat at least one green leafy vegetable a day. The only thing we have here is Curves. Once we move back to our hometown I am thinking of joining Weight Watchers and possibly a gym.
    Melissa
  • Rosey - the devil made you do it! Hope it was worth it. I've been giving into temptation all over the place. Depression and boredom have gotten the better of me lately. I'm debating whether or not to go ahead and pay for the fasting program myself. I need to lose about 40 lbs quickly so I can start a walking program. Anyway, enjoy the nice weather. Ours is sunny and a little cool. Fine with me.
Melissa, welcome to our thread. You want to try Curves. Rosey (see her posts) goes to Curves and she's doing well. Good luck with your plan. You might want to have mini-weightloss goals. that way it's not so overwhelming and you feel a sense of accomplishment. And keep posting.

Well I went to my parnets house today cause it was my dads B-Day But I stuck to the plan and I did not eat a whole piece of cake just a sliver just enough to taste. So I am pretty proud of myself. The weather here is turning warm and rainy I hate this time of year we have alot of torondaos But never right here in town (knock on wood) lol Well hope everyone had a good day. Angie

  • Good afternoon everyone,

Rosetta and Angie were kind enough to point me in this direction. I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes about a week ago. The doc was running some blood tests to diagnose something else and my blood sugar was whacky. I have PCOS and am about 70-80 lbs overweight, so I wasn't surprised, just disappointed in myself.

The doc is monitoring me weekly until I get in to the diabetic clinic. He was recommended - well now more like ordered me to exercise daily, lose weight, avoid sugar, test my blood etc.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all plus gettinb better educated with what I should eat, how I should go about loosing this weight etc. I have been on so many diets in my life that I am now confused between the good, the bad and the ugly!

    Nancy
  • Hi nancy and welcome.. we all here to help one another.. i know you are confused but educating yourself will help..yup dieting, exercise, testing, and meds will get you on the right path.. i follow ww with a few modifications as everyone is diff and what works for me might not for you.. i avoid all sugar(most of the time ) count carbs.. allowing myself about 30 grms per meal..eat wholes wheat products and portion control.. i also got to curves to exercise 3 x a week and do some walking or working with toner bands at home..it will be clearer after you goto the clinic or take a class in what you should be eating.. and by experimenting and testing your blood you will see what works for you and what foods elevate your #'s and how exercise affects them too.. keeping a food and ercercise journal will help your dr and the clinic decide what is the best for you.. i basically eat what i like.. but avoid sugar and white bread etc.. at least i try.. we all are human tho and go off on a bad spree like i did with the DQ the other day..i think its ok once in awhile and then just go back to it..remember small changes first..till your used to it all..good luck and ask any question you need to ok((((hugs))) for you.. rosey
  • Hi Angie - good for you resisting that cake. I haven't been resisting much lately. Ate a cinnamon twist for breakfast instead of my usual lowfat yogurt and now feel bloated more than ever. (pastries always do that to me.) Ah, but it tasted good going down!
Rosey - sorry about your granddaughter. Sending good vibes for her quick recovery. You didn't go to Curves but shoveling snow must be worth some exercise points. Thanks for your support. I'm still in a funk. More so because I have some sort of unknown infection that makes my c-reative protein high. Means more trips to the doctor. Ugh.
Nancy - glad you found this thread. You might want to browse through the previous posts to see if there's any information you can use. Keep posting.
