Morning all. So I feel extremely bloated today and I had a good feeling I wouldn't like what the scale had to say so I decided to skip it this morning. I think TOM might be on the way but I'm not positive because my cycle has been extremely unpredictable in recent months.

We did not win at trivia. Tonight is book club at a wine bar. I don't love wine, but I feel obligated to order something to support the business. My lunch includes two cups of cauliflower - trying to get those veggies in!

Ophelia - here is a link. They are softer than a surfer style rash guard.

Right now I think they are offering a code for 40% off (never pay full price at Lands End).

Weighed the same this morning. 138.8. I thought I would lose. Having a group to be accountable to is helpful and I’m sure I will eventually start losing. Maybe I should move my weigh-in to late afternoon as I often fast until then
Sw 138.6

Nicoley- Great job prepping lunches for the week; being prepared makes such a big difference!! I hope that trivia night was fun! I hope you are right about the 3 days!!! I think that I also need to be eating more vegetables!

Catherine- Thank you!! I agree with Ophelia that it is entirely up to you how you want to format your daily weigh ins, or sporadic weigh ins if you would prefer to do it that way. I have been making a new post every day and just copying and pasting my weigh ins from the day before and updating my weight in the new post. I think that changing your weigh in time to right before you eat would be a good choice since you do IF.

Kim- Thank you and that is a really good point about the restaurant food!! It sounds like you had a great day planned out for yesterday and I hope that you see a good number for your weigh in this morning!! I just saw that you are holding off on the weigh in today. I hope that the bloaty feeling dissipates, that is no fun.

Momtopands- Thank you!! Nice drop, you are so close to the next decade!!!!

Ange
and gardenerjoy- waving hi!!

Lunkah- YAY on the new decade!!!!!!!! I am so excited for you!!! Thank you, I agree that it feels really good to break the cycle of overeating; I am hoping that is the first of many successful events that I can tackle!

Vickielou and Sgregg
Joe- I hope that your stomach settles!!

Lacerta- Glad that you kept your whoosh, great work!!

Ophelia- Fake it till you make it . I think that my cellulite bothers me more than the loose skin does. I still have a lot of fat on my upper arms, so I am hopeful that as I lower my body fat percentages, the hanging will improve. I hate the water retention too!! I mean, 4 lbs. in 1 night that is bad enough, but then it comes off a tiny chunk at a time…. So annoying!! Congrats on getting back down to 172!! That is a bummer about your husband’s arm, but it was nice that you were able to get some exercise in while they hung out.

Kfunk You're already on your way back down! You'll be back where you want in no time!

Lacerta congrats on maintaining your loss! Your on your way!

Chunkalunkah Thanks! Things are still stressful and it's affecting my sleep but she seems to have more good days than bad days so I'm thankful for that. Congrats on your losses! 130's, wow!

Ophelia Nice drop! Keep it up!

Well no new decade today, just a bit of a bump up but i'm fine with a little fluctuation. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Welcome sgregg - Never too late to join, but if you are going to lose a pound a day like that, you are going to make us look bad. Amazing loss so far this month.

I am finally back down to where I started for the month. So it's official. For me, the month of June starts today and is only 19 days long. I have decreed it.

Unfortunately, I think I might be getting a mild bug. I didn't feel great yesterday, and snacked a bit on salty foods because absolutely nothing sounded appetizing to my upset stomach. Today I'm achy and still have a mildly upset stomach and am going to skip my morning walk. Not bad, just enough that I feel "off". Fortunately, I only have to work a couple hours each day this week.

I bumped up a few ounces today but am still in the 139's. I was so relieved not to see that blasted 4 again. I ate some high sodium foods yesterday and could feel my feet swelling from that last night, so I'm not surprised by the small bump. My period is due this weekend, and I'm feeling those lovely PMS symptoms too--mildly crampy, headache, bloated. Such a delight. It's killing my desire to exercise today, but I need to get something in. Maybe a bike ride would be fun...

Welcome to the thread this month, VickieLou and sgregg!

Thanks, Lacerta, ophelia, kfunk, and momtopands! I was in that last decade for over a year, so seeing the tens spot change was a big moment for me. I almost swooned and fainted Victorian style.

nicoley - Trivia followed by a book club meet at a wine bar sounds like my kind of week! Does your book club have a certain theme for what you read or is it a broad range of selections?

Catherine Rose - I think moving your weigh-in time later is a great idea. Hang in there; you'll have that drop soon!

for all!

sgregg: Never too late to join...welcome to the June thread!

Kim: I hope you're feeling better and less bloated tomorrow!

nicoley73: Thank you for the link and the heads up on the coupon code! I will check them out right after this.

Catherine Rose: I fast until noon myself, and I don't weigh-in until right before I cook my breakfast...I figured that is the best way to make sure my body has had the appropriate amount of time to process everything from the day before and to keep it as close to accurate and consistent as possible. If you're able to squeeze in a weigh-in later in the day, I agree that you should.

kfunk: I had a sodium bomb dinner last night and went up over 2 lbs this morning...not quite 4, but still frustrating that a single meal can have that much impact on the scale. Hopefully, we will both flush out the water retention ASAP and not have to worry about it taking all week to come back off!

momtopands: I went up today, as well...here's to us both getting it going back in the right direction tomorrow!

Lacerta: I hope you feel better tomorrow...and, congrats on getting back to a fresh start on the scale!

Chunkah: After a year in the same decade, I would understand any Victorian-style fainting to see something new! Congrats again!!!

Joe: Good luck with your travels, and I hope you're feeling better today!

-----------------------------------------

Another bump on the rollercoaster that the scale is being this week...weigh-in was all the way back up to 174.2 today! Although, I am certain it is from last night's dinner where I experiemented with homemade vegetable fried rice, but then ate premade spring rolls and ate it all with cayenne pepper sauce -- all in my calorie range, but a complete sodium bomb as a combination. So, I'll be focusing on the hydration today to see if I can't get this to come back down tomorrow or at least by the end of Week Two.

Week Two
08: 175.0 - TOM.
09: 172.8
10: 173.4
11: 172.0
12: 174.2

Welcome, sgregg! Do you want to set a goal for the rest of the month? It's fine if you don't, this is a good thread to use for tracking, too.

I’m not used to being in the 160s yet, so every time I weigh myself I mix up the numbers in my head and have to go back and weigh again. I’m getting closer to normal BMI, but I usually see a drop and then level weight for a week. We’ll see how the next 7 days goes.

Week Two
08: 168.8
09: 168.2
10: 168.2 TOM
11: 167.4 TOM
12: 166.4 TOM

Momtopands Ugh, cleaning the garage. Mine isn’t too bad yet, but I could definitely work up a sweat cleaning it. Hope you keep trending down for the rest of the week.

Ange82much Good luck on your trip! I also have more success telling people up front that I’m making some dietary changes, so I’d love to have some conversation, but no thanks on the drinks and big meals. I still get some comments from co-workers (construction superintendent yesterday – you aren’t eating the fried taco shell and chips?! That’s the best part!), but mostly everyone says good for you and moves on.

Kfunk6113 Happy birthday! Hopefully you’re just retaining water and you’ll get a giant whoosh in a day or two. 4.2 lbs for a cinnabon just isn’t fair.

Nicoley73 I do wings as well when presented with a host of bad options. When in doubt, eat chicken. Lol. You’re so social, out and about every night of the week!

Yangtzer Hope you feel better today!

Ophelia You have the most awesome whooshes! Spaghetti squash is one of my go-tos – it plays well with other flavors. I recommend what my friends and I call the mom suit for public, potentially awkward situations. One piece ruched bodice that holds it all in with an integral skirt. Juicy Couture used to have a cute one until they sold. The other thing I’ve noticed is sometimes the adults just let the kids swim and stay out of the pool for the most part except maybe feet in the pool.

Chunkah Congrats on the progress! I can’t wait to see the 130s again. It’s been 6 years for me, which doesn’t seem like that long in the grand scheme of things, but it was much easier going up than coming down.

Lacerta A walk by the river sounds lovely. It’s supposed to be in the upper 90s today here. Hot. Nice job this week, almost 2 lbs!

Toomanydimples Nice progress! You’ve been super consistent over the past few days, I bet you’re due for some scale progress.

Welcome Salma, Catherine, Halfthgirl, VickieLou, Sgregg! So great to see so many people up for a challenge. 😊

Momtopands- Fingers are crossed that you have a good weigh in this morning!! ETA... nice drop, you are SO close!!

Lacerta
- I hope that you feel better soon, its seems like there are a lot of bugs going around lately.

Lunkah- That is awesome that you stayed in the 130’s despite being so close to TOM. My feet have also been swollen at night lately, weird huh?! I loved your “fainting victorian style” description LOL

Ophelia- Oh no! I hope that the sodium is out of your system soon, it isn’t fair!! I have a recipe for some fried rice that I want to try. It has riced cauliflower instead of rice, it looks just like the real thing in the pictures so I am excited to give it a shot! How did you do with water intake yesterday? I think I almost hit a full gallon, but didn’t quite make it.

Snowmama- I mix up my numbers too!! I will start to say that I weigh 2something and then realize that is not right and then get closer and say 170 something, it takes me a few tries to get it right ha! Thank you, I am excited about getting back to the 157’s! You have had some nice drops this week with your TOM around!!!

Kim- I hope that your stomach feels better soon.
