Lacerta - Thanks! I'd gone straight to Amazon earlier to look for some, and I like the ones in your link better. It looks like the padding covers more of the handle than on the ones I found, so it would be easier to get a nice grip. I read some reviews and people seem ok with its stability above my weight, so I think they'll work for me. I'll buy some after I move in August. I'm making the move with only two checked bags for the plane ride, so I'll be buying a lot of items once I get there that couldn't fit. I've been annoyed with my weak wrists for many years now but never bothered to mention it, so I'd never learned that equipment could possibly help. Maybe I finally won't have to skip over the pushups part in 30 Day Shred.

Hi Nicoley, good to see you again!
Nice progress this month, Catherine Rose!

Momtopands Sounds like you have had a crazy weekend! Nice job staying on plan and congrats on the drop.

Ange82much I did get a couple of comments on my weight loss – mostly from the men. Lol. My friend’s husband and my sister-in-law’s dad both mentioned that they could tell I had made substantial progress. I also had a coworker stop by my office who I hadn’t seen for a couple of months, and she wanted to know what I was doing differently because “you’re looking tall and lean.”

Kfunk6113 If your success holding yourself accountable during weight loss is any indication, you will do fantastic with your exercise goals. How do you manage to get dinner in by 5:30? Does the rest of your family eat with you? I like the idea of being done eating by 5:30, but I’m not sure about the logistics for me.

Ophelia Pasta and wine? Sounds like my kind of party. My brother is a vegetarian who is about a year ahead of me on the lifestyle change path, and when we talk about diet he always mentions his struggles with getting enough protein without a lot of fat. My daughter says she’s going to follow a pescatarian (honestly, just for sushi) diet starting in July, so if you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

Chunkah Life of leisure. Lol. Glad things are looking good. I guess it’s better that the dr lower your expectations so you can be over the moon when you exceed them. Ha. I’m trying to get better about taking care of my face. I’m religious about sunscreen daily, but terrible about washing it at night and even worse about eye cream.

Lacerta Hope you get to do the pool tonight! And props on the push-ups. I haven’t even attempted in I don’t know how long.

Toomanydimples Hope you’re making progress on getting your stuff tagged. I was supposed to put a bunch of stuff in the JBF consignment sale, but work got busy and I couldn’t bring myself to wash/iron/hang/pin/tag 150 little outfits. But now they are taking up too much space in my garage. Lol.

Catherine Almost at your mini goal! I think I need to set a mini goal to get past this stall.

Still in no loss zone, been bouncing around 166 for about 10 days now. Time to kick up the exercise! I’m preparing to participate in the exercise challenge next month, so no better time to get the habit going. This weekend was a struggle to balance social eating activities with my food plans. My friends really did get the deep fryer out and made mushrooms dipped in hush puppy mix then deep fried. Argh. One of them joked that the reason I don’t come over more often is because they keep planning these crazy high calorie, fatty dinners. There may have been some truth there. Still managed to stay on track with calories, even if they weren’t my usual veggie and lean meat calories. I also walked Friday during lunch, swam on Saturday, and went running yesterday. And yet, the scale remains steadfastly unmoved. Lol.

Just plugging along. I'm not doing very good with getting my salt in the last few days so I'm going to try to do better with that today. I feel like I'm holding onto some bloat again.

I printed out all my consignment tags yesterday (24 pages!) Got them all marked and cut out and got about a quarter of my items tagged. Should have tagging finished up this morning. Need to get moving again so no time for personals. Everyone is doing great, hopefully we can all end the month strong!

Heading back in the right direction. I'm honestly ok with losing only 3 lbs or so a month. I've given myself a year to get down to where I want to be and hoping that will just establish permanent better eating habits.

Hi guys. So, here's a consequence of the extra protein that I hadn't foreseen--I'm a freaking chia pet. My hair is growing like crazy! I of course don't mind the hair on my head, but I'd shaved my legs maybe 4 days ago and yesterday they'd gone all Sasquatch on me. I'd never seen them like that before. And hope to never again. Well, at least I know my body's processing all the extra nutrients. Weight is down a little more today.

Snowmama - I agree about the dr, and I far prefer his method over an oversell! That's fantastic that you've been good about sunscreen. I haven't been, but going forward I will. I think I overlooked it bc I'm of Italian descent and tan easily, don't really burn. So that gives a false sense of safety. In my early 20's, however, I did get a bad sunburn on only one side of my face. (It was a great look.) It may just be a coincidence, but that's now the side that's not getting as good results as the other. Nice mix of activity you have going on. I hope the scale gets its act together soon. You deserve it!

Kim - Productive day with the sale prep! I hope the bloat goes away soon.

nicoley - We're around the same weight, so I totally get you about the 3 pounds/month rate. I find that a good rate of losing too.

Lacerta - I'd always take sleep, glorious sleep as well. It's incredibly important. Congrats on the whoosh!

I'm off to do my food prep for the week. Back to the grind tomorrow. I work 10.5 hour days, and with my commute they're 12 hour days. So I like to have my food ready ahead of time for those days.

mompands- Great job getting back on plan after a stress filled weekend!! AND congrats on your new low, even if it did bump up a little after dinner last night!

lacerta- thank you, and nice whoosh!! Were you able to get out of work without having to stay more than 3 hours yesterday?

lunkah- dread is a good word to describe how I feel when a workout is looming, haha!! I don't know why, it always feels so good to get it over with. I think that if my commute wasn't as long I wouldn't feel completely wiped out by the time I got home, but that isn't going to change any time soon so I should just suck it up! It looks like you have a very long commute as well! That is crazy about the protein making the hair on your legs grow faster! Congrats on being down .5 lb!!

nicoley- What is your ultimate goal weight? I think that its great that you aren't trying to rush it, saves a lot of frustration in the end!!

Catherine- Nice drop!!

snowmama- Great job sticking to your calorie limits over the weekend!! It looks like you are doing a fantastic job of getting in all sorts of exercises, I hope that you can get out of the 166's soon! Depending on traffic I walk in the door around 4:45 and I immediately fix my dinner and eat quick and then I make the kids' dinner. I still sit there when they eat, but it will be nice for ALL of us to eat the same thing at the same time

kim- Congrats on your lowest weight yet this month! I hope that you are able to get rid of the extra bloat!

I have never been more excited for my TOM to get here. I am feeling flustered, hopeless and mean!! I ate a HUGE salad last night for dinner, way overate and felt gross after. I am surprised I went down after that, but it was better than eating my feelings with chocolate like I had wanted haha

Back from my work trip. I was good with breakfasts (buffet in hotel) and 'bad' with lunches. Or rather I ate a bit too much at lunch, but it was just sandwiches/pies/sausage rolls on offer, so I had sandwiches which means I've had bread 3 days in a row which is something I cut out for my weight loss journey this year. Not that that means anything. There's nothing wrong with bread, but i'd still rather have had salad if it had been there. Skipped dinners, so overall I've come out unscathed. My stats just look pretty steady but they were up to around 118/119 for a few days, so I reckon i'm realistically 118+/- 1lb at the moment which is good, but i'm not in any sort of routine since over-indulging at a weekend and a lunchtime then skipping dinner isn't really my long term plan!

Nice to read everyone elses progress! Nearly the end of the month which will be my 5-month DietBet weigh-in milestone. Got to get that submitted as it qualifies me for the wodge of cash at the end (6 months 'Transformer'). The weight bit is easy as i'm way inside the targets - it's just remembering (or being around) to upload photos and send them off!

Boo Scale. Hope I have a whoosh before the end of the month so I can get a bit closer to goal at least.

We have family in town so I'm taking off work tomorrow and Friday. Should be a busy-ish day getting things wrapped up and cleared out so I don't go back to chaos on Monday. Pretty much have everything ready for my sale this weekend too. Just have to load up the car for drop off Friday morning.

Starting tomorrow I'm going to be off my schedule since we'll be running around doing stuff, probably eating some meals out and later in the day than I usually do for IF. Usually when I get busy like that it can actually have a nice effect on weight loss. Just need to make sure I'm keeping my calories, water and salt where they need to be.

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Catherine- I have always heard that the weight comes off slower when you don’t have very much to lose AND that the last 10 lbs. is the hardest. You are doing great, keep it up!!!

Ange- You just reminded me that I need to weigh in tonight for my diet bet or else I will miss the window!! It sounds like your work trip went well and you were able to find a good balance to get you through!

Kim- You have quite the busy weekend planned, I hope that you get your whoosh in the next few days!! Not a whole lot here, just trying to figure out a plan for the weekend out of town. Still waiting for my TOM

Total Loss for Week Four:

So I'm running out of time to make my goal. But this week has brought me a lot closer than I thought I would get 2 weeks ago. I actually have had a really good last 2 weeks, just had a really terrible first 10 days in June I had to overcome. I'd really like to lose at least 0.4 more for the month, which would put me at my 10% lost point. Even if I don't make my month's goal, I'd be really happy with that. I have 3 more days to do it in, so here's hoping. But my pattern is that after a 2-5 good days of loss, I tend to settle for a few days with little/no loss. I just need 1 more whoosh day of good loss before I settle, please.

I've done well keeping my hours at work shorter this week. And I'm taking today off because I'll be a little longer day tomorrow. So I'm going to get 2 walks and a swim in today. Yay. And go shopping for presents for my 3 year old twin niece/nephew's birthday next week.

Here's to everyone having a month ending whoosh!
