Holding steady. I had a glass of wine and two small pieces of pizza. Hopefully I will see a drop tomorrow.

This was the first time I've been able to go to book club. We read Ready Player One. Entertaining but insubstantial. Next meeting is in two months and we are reading a new translation of The Odyssey.

I’m going to need a different approach to losing this excess weight. Night time snacking is my demon. If I could stop this habit I feel the weight would drop off. Snacking at night on all the wrong foods has been my habit for over 50 years. I have decided to try the carb addicts plan starting today. Fasting all day and then having a 4-5 hour window to eat in leads to my binging. Not sure why a plans works at one time in my life but not another... At least I’m not gaining anymore

Total Loss for Week Two:

Weight loss is weird.

Yesterday was one of my worst days for eating. I wasn't feeling well, and when I don't feel good, I either don't eat anything or eat everything in sight.
Unfortunately, this was one of the latter, so I snacked all day. I did try to make better snacking choices, and had nuts and popcorn instead of cookies and chips, but I was eating something most of the day. I also only went for one of my two walks.

And yet... whoosh!

We'll see if it sticks tomorrow

I'm feeling better today and hope everyone else does soon too. Lots of stomach issues around here this week.

Today is my first day off work in a while, so should be able to stay on track today.

The weird thing is that I've always had the opposite problem. Whenever I talk to my husband or doctor about my weight, I have to stop and check myself because I ALWAYS start to say one whatever instead of two something. I don't know why. Apparently, subconsciously, I think I weigh a lot less than I really do. Denial maybe, even though I weigh in every day, AND have spent a lot more of my adult life in the 2xx than in the 1xx? I know exactly what I weigh, and yet, a much lower number automatically comes to mind when I start to say my weight. Sometimes I don't even realize I've done it. I told my husband one day this week that I was still stuck at 148.0. I didn't even know I'd said it wrong until he gave me a weird look.

Yet another reason I look forward to getting back into onederland, so that I don't have to do that anymore.

SnowMama: I'm definitely looking forward to trying the spaghetti squash with other pasta sauces, as well...it seems like it would work well with many kinds like an actual pasta would. Nice losses, by the way!

Kim: Oh no! I was hoping you'd be feeling better today. I hope whatever has you feeling this way passes ASAP.

momtopands: Getting so close!! I always feel like my body hangs on longer to a weight right before dropping into a new decade as well, like it knows what the scale says and is toying with me...it's so odd, lol.

kfunk: If you try the fried riced cauliflower, let me know how it is! And, I got in a little over a gallon, which I think helped a ton. Hoping that it will keep moving back down tomorrow for the final weigh-in for Week Two. As I always tend to say, "we will see"...lol. Nice loss for you today, by the way...looks like that sodium is flushing out for you, as well!

nicoley73: I've only been in a book club in a Facebook group online...I think being in an actual, in-person book club would be a lot of fun! It would probably make me more apt to keep on top of the reading since I'd be meeting up in person to discuss it, as well. I always get so busy that I didn't even get or read the last two months' books for the online club I'm in, because it's easier to forget and just not post than it is to choose not to go to an actual meeting, I'd think. I have so much catching up to do!

Catherine Rose: Late night snacking is my biggest temptation/trigger, as well! I get it. Knowing that about yourself is important, and it's good that you're willing to readjust your schedule to help mitigate that powerful urge in the evenings.

Lacerta: I've had days like that as well...one day, I will go overboard and whoosh the next day, and I will do the exact same thing - sometimes the exact same foods, even - on another random day, and I will gain 4 lbs of water retention overnight! It is very weird, lol. I hope you get to keep your whoosh tomorrow!

-----------------------------------------

Back down a little to 172.8 today. Let's hope I can avoid my "up-down-up" pattern that I've been having all week come tomorrow, so I can show a decent loss overall for Week Two...lol. Today's plan includes making a mad dash around town to re-do my Father's Day shopping for my husband...the exact smart watch that I had planned for his main present, aside from what the kids made him, he ended up finding on sale somewhere and bought it for himself. Anyone else have someone in their life that is hard to buy for in the first place, but then they are also the person who will buy something they like if they see it, even right before holidays and birthdays?? Depending on how all that goes will determine whether or not I get my workout in today...then again, I might get in enough steps today while present hunting, we will see.

Week Two
08: 175.0 - TOM.
09: 172.8
10: 173.4
11: 172.0
12: 174.2
13: 172.8
14:
----------------------------
End of Week One: 175.0

Casey, I have been married just over 40 years and I definitely get that. My husband is the spender and loves to buy things he needs or doesn’t need. Hope you find a great gift otherwise tell him thanks for getting your own gift. He is really hard to buy for too

Pretty happy with this week. But plans are to go to New Orleans this weekend to see Waitress with my daughter. NOLA can do some damage to a diet - the food there is just so good!

Man, PMS is hitting me hard this month. Just thought you'd all like to know. Nothing new on the weight front.

yangtzer - I hope travel is going well.

SnowMama - You're making great progress, well done! SO TRUE about how much more easily the number can go up than down.

Kim - I hope you're feeling better.

Lacerta - Glad you're feeling better and congrats on the loss!

momtopands - So close!! I'm cheering you on for that next decade!

nicoley - I'd heard the author of that new translation on NPR a few months ago. I'd not been a fan of The Odyssey or The Iliad when I'd read them in the past, but she was so enthusiastic about her project, she got me interested in rereading The Odyssey! I think I even put it on my wish list at Amazon.

Catherine Rose - The carb addicts plan sounds like a great plan to try. I think I'll look into that one. I'm definitely the sort whose appetite goes up when I eat more carbs and down when I eat less of them. I'm so happy to see that your weight is already heading in the right direction! Well done!

ophelia - Oh no, lol at him buying the gift! He should be banned from shopping the month before his bday and gift-expected holidays. Good luck with the present-hunting and congrats on the loss!

Nicoley - Awesome work this week! Enjoy New Orleans!

for all!

I feel slightly less disgusting today but I still know things aren't going right with my system, (by not sharing the details I'm sure a lot of you can conclude the details).

I'm going to try to detox today. Flush everything out with mainly liquids. It's worked before and I think it's time to give it a try again. Thank goodness for fatty coffee!

Ophelia: Unfortunately, EVERYONE in my family is like that. As a result, we stopped doing gift exchanges about 5 years ago. Instead, we just all get together on holidays and have a fun day together. When my sister had twins a few years ago, we did start buying them stuff, but they are the only kids in the family. The adults don't exchange gifts anymore. I love it, takes so much of the stress off holidays. Good luck to you in your shopping excursion.

nicoley: nice whoosh to end the week

Kim: I bet when you do get on the scale, it is better than you thought. Hope the detoxing helps you feel better

SW for June: 246.6

12: 246.6
13: 245.2
14: 245.2

Total Loss for Week Two: 3.2

No change today. I was surprised and happy not to see it go back up, because I got back in the pool yesterday and did 10 laps, and am a little sore today. So the same weight is good for me today. Much better week than last week. Lost what I had gained plus a bit more.

Even better, I tried on my 18 jeans and was able to get them fully on. The muffin top is real, but I did get them fully fastened. I even tried on the 16s and could get them all the way pulled up, which I couldn't do last time I tried. I don't think I'll fit into them in July, but maybe August.

I took my measurements this morning and I was down 3.75 inches overall from 2 weeks ago. About half was on my chest, which some people might be unhappy about, but I need to lose it there too. Even when I was much lighter, I was very top heavy, so I wouldn't be sad to go down a cup size (or even 2). For now, I'll take it where I can get it.

My kids love it! Also, I completely agree about my body being in collusion with my scale to teeter my weight on the precipice of a new decade, definitely have a sense of humor.

I dropped a bit but not quite to the next decade. I will get there in the next couple of days.

Nicoley- Great job showing restraint with the pizza. I have a hard time with that, so I tend to shy away from it all together. Nice drop!!!

Catherine- I hope that switching up your plan helps you tackle the night time snacking. Its funny that things change like that, but I experience the same thing. Nice drop!!

Lacerta- Nice drop, all your hard work paying off!!! YAY on getting on your jeans and the inches lost!!!

Ophelia- I will definitely let you know how it turns out!! My husband does the SAME thing, it is annoying at this point because I have pointed it out to him and he knows I have had to return things last minute but he keeps doing it. Luckily he is cute  Nice drop!! I hope that your weigh in today is good as well!

Cattails- Congrats on your losses so far, you are doing great!

Lunkah- UGH, I hope that your TOM leaves very soon!

Kim- I hope that you feel better once you flush your system out. I hope that you see a nice whoosh when you step on the scale again!!

Momtopands- you had an awesome week 2, way to go!!!

Joe- That is awesome that you found something that is working!

I am hoping that I can get back to 157 by Saturday morning. We have last minute restaurant plans on Sunday and I am totally dreading eating out.
