I'm pretty close to my goal weight for this challenge. I am very optimistic I know I will get to my goal! I underarand that first week is the ine where you loose the most so I know I shouldn't be expecting to loose another 5 lbs in the next week. But don't get diacouraged easily Campana (I know I tend to do that a lot) Great job everyone lets keep on loosing thise pounds!!!
This morning i was a bit disappointed at the scale as I burned a lot of calories at the gym yesterday and expected to lose rather than gain. It is likely the Dim Sum lunch I had. I decided to eat an apple half an hour before lunch to control my appetite and I thought it worked quite well as I wasn't starving when we sat down to eat and i only had 5 steamed dumplings. My fitness pal indicated these types of dumplings can be 50 calories, but i suspect now that is an understatement of calories.
Or, as you mentioned Tuscany, this could still be exercise -- I have a trainer and we trained my legs last night like I've never done before. Perhaps there is a woosh in my near future! LOL
Tuscany - I think you did great to be so conscious of your choices on your business trip. It is so tough in these situations where you have no access to things from your plan.
Way to go, Campana, how awesome that you are so close to goal already!
I've started keeping a log of my weight loss to see if I can spot any patterns, because to tell you the truth, I'm still not quite sure why this diet works when I have a cheat day every week that always causes me to put on a lb or 2 the day after! Yes it drops back off in the next 2-3 days, but do I really lose or at least maintain every single week? So, tallying the stats, this is the picture I've gotten since the first cheat day in August when I started keeping track:
I kind of like this way of looking at my progress. I might have a low at the beginning of a week and a high at the end, but overall, I can see what's going on. The low of each week is always lower than or maintains the low of the previous week, which is good because that shows a steady pace of weight loss. However, the same is not true of the highs. Week 4 and 6 have higher highs than the weeks before them. I guess the message I should take away from that is don't fret the highs. They will work themselves out and lead to lower lows!
And I still don't understand why my diet works, lol!
Welcome home Tuscany :-) Half a pound will fall away soon. That's amazing will power choosing not to eat to stay in the game. In my experience those work events are a succession of evil biscuit temptations.
Day ten on this forum and I've been raving about it to my friends. Finding is so motivating and supportive. Thanks everyone.

Just the Friday night hazard to navigate tomorrow. I've heard rumours about a Chinese. Gulp...
This morning, I shed the half pound arising from my business trip, but that still only puts me down a half pound so far for the month. Sooooo…hopefully Ms. Whoosh Fairy will visit soon. I’d even settle for Baby Whoosh Fairy!
Turtle: The whoosh fairy needs to visit you too…150’s, 150’s, 150’s!
Jacqui: It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand why your diet is working, as long as it keeps working!
Joy: You too are deserving of the whoosh fairy…that fairy needs to get busy!
Woodstock: Yep... Our bodies retain water to help repair the minor muscle tears that arise when we start a new exercise routine. There’s a whoosh in your future very soon!
Minneey: I too find this Forum to be very helpful, especially this challenge thread. Good luck navigating the Friday night hazard!
183StGB: You’ve lost about 4 lbs since the beginning of the month…good job!
Campana: Great loss so far, although you’re right…we often see larger losses in the first week, a fair bit of which is water weight.
Sum: Great month so far…keep going!
Suds: If you’re at 177.8, then you’ve lost 3 lbs so far this month…which is great progress!
I was SUPER reluctant about posting today -- I was out drinking last night, and I went totally overboard. The 4,000cals are a guesstimation, because really, I don't even remember what all I drank/ate. Yeah, once in a while. I am glad class starts in 10 days, it will bring a little more routine and seriousness into my life.
I went to run first Thing in the morning though First time after I had my wisdom teeth pulled, but I'm glad it went well. It is freezing cold in Germany though! It even snowed some places. We kinda skipped fall, I guess.
You guys are really awesome at writing personal Messages
let me try and catch up.
Campana great you're so Close to your Goal already! Keep going, and you'll exceed your own expectations! (which is an awesome thing, IMO )
Woodstock I wouldn't sweat a 0.1 gain. Could just be an error on your scale. I always find it super hard when I'm eating out though, because you never know how many calories the food has. The MFP values are more guesstimations -- I don't rely on it too much. I hope the dumplings were yummy though!
Jacqui_D it's prett awesome you have those weight-loss stats! This is my first month tracking Progress daily, and I already find it super interesting to evaluate it. Thanks for sharing yours And also thanks for writing personal encouraging Messages every day! Means a lot.
Suds14 you'll see the 176 soon! I'm bouncing around that number right now aswell. We can do it! Also, roasted beets Sound super delicious. I never had that before, but now I totally want to try!
DaisyBelle it's going down! Wootwoot!
Minneey mmh Chinese! If you want to eat it, you should! Hope you enjoy it
Tuscany you'll see the woosh fairy! And also, thank you for being so supportive
Rhiko every loss, no matter how small, is a win!
Yay, I wrote personals! Everybody have a great day. And a good weekend
183, how wonderful that you did post today! Your personals are so thoughtful! And it's always best to put real life out there. It'd be nice if we always did what we know we should--stay on plan, exercise every day--but we're fallible and saying so keeps us accountable, so I'm proud of you! And great job running!
Rhiko, slow loss can be frustrating , but you're losing and that's great news! Hang in there! I'm sure you have a whoosh coming soon!
Tuscany, yay on the half pound dropping off quickly! Now let's hope the whoosh fairy comes around!
Minneey, I agree with you: This is an amazing site! Enjoy your Chinese food. Just watch your portions and drink lots of water!
DaisyBelle, congrats on the 2.6 lbs lost! Keep going! :
Suds, hang in there! I know you will! You have a great attitude!
Turtle, I'm wishing the whoosh fairy for you too! 159! 159! 159!
