I'll be repeating week 3 again. I was only able to do two days this week because I didn't feel well. So I'll do the three days next week.

I completed my first 5K yesterday!

You can read about it in this thread or if you want to read the long version you can read this blog post.

And this week I'm on to Week 5. I think I'm going to switch up and go for distance instead of time. That means a TWO MILE RUN on D3. At my current pace, a two mile run will take approximately 28 minutes. I think that's going to take some re-dos!

@Diana - Wow, you're doing phenomenal! I can't believe you're ready to start W7! You're rockin' it girlfriend!

@lana and sparkle - Have fun re-doing W3! You'll be surprised how easy W4 is when you get there. You're doing awesome!

@BacOs - So? Did you get the treadmill?

Happy running everyone!

Congratulations, Rochester. That's a HUGE accomplishment!

I *did* get my treadmill yesterday. I can't believe my husband got it in the house, down the stairs to the basement, and set up pretty much single-handedly. Insane. That thing is SO heavy.

Anyway, I kicked my butt Saturday and again today.

Congrats Rochester!

I start week 2 tomorrow. So far so good. I'm very happy with how things are progressing and totally impressed by the fact I don't wipe myself out. Hope everyone has a great week!

Shortstuff, you're probably better prepared for it than you think. Up until last week I was always afraid to progress to the next thing, because it just seemed crazy... But I went for it, and I surprised myself EVERY time!

Today was W7D1... SO bizarre to think that it's already week 7! It all happened so fast... It's going to be amazing to cross the C25K finish line... I can already tell!

Yay, Rochester!! And congrats to everyone. It seems we're all doing so well. I redid W3D1 today. I have a couple of questions for you all:

1) Has anyone noticed a difference in the scale/inches since beginning C25K?

2) As I mentioned earlier, I'm redoing W3. My son has surgery on Thursday, so I won't be able to make it to the gym on Thursday or Friday. Do you all think it would be okay for me to do C25K three days in a row (M, T, W)? Or should I just do it again on Wednesday and look at that as completing W3 (since I did it twice last week and once today)?

Pink Sparkle, I think my vote would be for doing it Wednesday and calling it done. Three days a row is intense, and I've never seen anyone recommend skipping breaks in between... I know I sure wouldn't want to do it! But you do what you think you can handle.

Today began Week 2! I'm really impressed with this program. I also had my weigh-in and I am down 1.8 lbs since last week!! I think this was the cardio kick I needed.

Shortstuff - I'm positive you'll do great with week 4!

Pink Sparkle - I agree with ninepaw. Three days in a row really can't be any good for your muscles. They won't have the time they need to recover. Don't sweat it if your week gets off-kilter.

Completed another day of Week 2 today. I think I'll do a couple more days of it until I progress to Week 3.

Everyone doing so well...keep it up girls!

I personally haven't noticed any change on the scale and its totally bumming me out! I've been eating around 1600 calories and working out 4-5 days a week, I've been been stuck at this weight for awhile now, ugh...hope your results are better

How are your clothes fitting?

I've read (was it here, or on running forums?) that a lot of people drop sizes but don't lose weight b/c they're gaining so much muscles. Also, I've read that people don't lose much but then hit week 8 and the pounds melt off. No clue.

I started C25K June 1.

The scale has been less than cooperative. I lost 4 pounds in June, but since the first of this month I've just gained and lost the same 2 pounds.

But inches? Wowzers. Huge difference. Just measuring 4 areas - hips, waist, chest (below boobs), and boobs (at the biggest point) - I've lost 21 inches! I really don't have any clothes that fit properly anymore.

I'm guessing I'm replacing fat with muscle which weighs the same but takes up less space. (What BacOs said.)

From everything I've read, I think the answer is a really big NO. Your body needs time to recover between runs. When you exercise, your muscles get microscopic tears. When you rest, the tears are repaired and the muscle becomes stronger. If you don't allow your body to repair itself, it can result in injury. (I think this is correct. Don't quote me on it. I'm still learning. )
