My alarm didn't go off this morning and I woke up at 7:47. AGGGGHHHHH!!! It was such a great morning for a run, too. :-( Oh well. Will go after work.

Everyone is doing such a great job! Keep it up guys!

My first 5K is this Sunday... I can't believe it! I know I can do it because I made a point of doing a longer run on Monday, but it's still pretty crazy to me!

Yesterday in my Step Aerobics class we actually did a timed mile and a half instead of our normal class... I ran it in 21 minutes and 36 seconds! I was definitely okay with that. And I wasn't last!!! That was my biggest goal, because whenever I've done timed runs like that in school, I was ALWAYS one of the last people done... But I've never been able to jog the whole thing before, either! Wooo!

Yes, I did. One day before the first, two days before the second (if I recall correctly). Hal Higdon's running programs always have two rest days before a race.

I did my first COLD run this morning...47 degrees. I was really chilly when I started but was sweating by the end. Everything I've read said that's how you should feel if you've dressed properly, but that's going to take some getting used to.

Good luck at your 5K Diana!

I just finished W1 and on Day 3 I decided to push myself a little further. I ran 6 minutes straight!!! My program told me to run for my usual minute and I kept running through 3 run intervals and 2 walk intervals. I wanted to see how far I could go and now I'm pumped!

Ninepaw- good luck on the upcoming 5K!

Meeky- Awesome! It feels pretty cool to see what you can do.

As for me, I decided to move on to W5D1 today. I doubled it just because I really did nothing else today, so I felt obligated. I was definitely ready to be done by the 6th 5 minute run! I made it through though, so I feel good. Can't remember what D2 is like, but I feel like I can handle it!

I had an awesome run this morning! Perfect weather and totally in the groove. 5K distance in less than 40 minutes. Booyah.

Happy running everybody!

ah, I was kind of impatient so I tried to take w7 d1 today.
and guess what, I jogged through 25 minutes, and i didn't feel like i was dying or anything. I feel great. I think I'll stay in week 7 for the rest of the week to build up stamina further a bit.
Even though my speed is still limited but I can actually jog instead of just walk make me feel so proud.

Wow! Up to 17 pages. Time to close and start a new thread as 500 is supposed to be the limit for number of posts.
