SaraLee-Sure you can join! I'd just set some modest goal for the remainder of the month and then go all out for June.

Hopeful8-There will be a June thread. I know I'll need the accountability, though I'm trying to make the very rough transition to maintenance. Just appreciate the progress and try not to think about how long it's taking!

eclipse-I'm so glad for you that you can get in that exercise now. It's amazing how easily our bodies get used to NOT doing it, right? 5 pounds is good progress, but as you said, you're used to more. I think your goal is still totally attainable, so keep up the good work and it'll happen!

MiniChick-Thanks! Unfortunately, I've been "almost to goal" for 5 months now. Fighting the same 5-7 pounds over and over ad naseum. I'm at the point of just calling it maintenance and then once I've got that under control for a couple months, I can try again at these last 5-10 pounds. I don't know.

I had a good OP day and I'm thrilled since it's been SO tough this month to not go into some kind of sugar craving or snack attack at some point during the day. Here's to day #2 OP tomorrow!

I was down to 205.4 this morning, so either way you cut it I have lost my 4 pounds for the month.

With the tendinitis, I have failed at the push ups and running portions of my goals, but I am comfortable with my month.

On the bright side, I went to a LARP last weekend, (I usually describe it as improvisation theater, but at a camp ground) and I did a lot of running, cause I was being chased by monsters who wanted to "kill" me. I could out run them, even up hills, thanks to the C25K program.
Even on week 2 I could see the difference in my endurance.
In fact I was running to the bathroom at one point (cause camps never have bathrooms in the cabins, I donno, it must be a torture the kids thing) and one of my friends saw me and assumed I was being chased and got all worried, but I was just running to get their faster.

Ok I am going to say 2 lbs by the end of the month! So GW would be 188.2! Oh how good it would be for getting out of the 190's!

Another lovely day....
Another day to not overeat!

susiemartin-You are doing great checking in here! I hope it's helping. The thread is quieter this time of year with people out and about more, but even if it's only a handful of people...we're still here for you!

knobhdy-Excellent job making your goal and getting that extra endurance from C25K! Doesn't it feel great!? I bet that weekend was fun. I like improv stuff!

SaraLee-You're on the list! I know it sure feels nice to break through a new "decade" in weight loss. Ever moving closer to the end goal....

Today has started out well which is encouraging, but it's not usually the morning that I have trouble with. It's been the afternoons or evenings. Today should be okay, though. I'll be busy from about 3 p.m. until bedtime. That's one way to not overeat is to be so busy you don't have time! LOL Seriously, I want to make this week count for something. I'm officially starting my marathon training while finishing up my sad excuse for triathlon training. I'd like to fuel my body for those activities instead of mindlessly stuffing my face with sweets.

You'll get there! It sounds like you're at a point where you might need to do things a little differently to break through that point. What is your eating plan right now? I remember hearing not too long ago (Dr. Oz??) in order to help someone lose weight, they can eat healthy carbs for breakfast, a little for lunch, but then no more carbs for the rest of the day...no carbs after 12 noon. The idea was that the closer you get to bedtime, the less immediate fuel from carbs that your body needs since your body is slowing down and getting ready to hunker down for the night. Maybe something like this might help you?? I don't know, just throwing out an idea for you as I know how had it is to lose those last few pounds.

Good Morning to All!!!
Well yesterday went well until I got home late from work and was STARVING!!!! I did log every last painful calorie though, and I wasn't over by too much thanks to my extra little walk! TOM is looming, and I am doing my best to stay on plan. A couple more days, and hopefully the insanity of off plan cravings will be past
Minichick- That is an interesting concept...Can you give an example of how many total carbs you can have before noon? I have finally resorted to plain old calorie counting, but I do try and be aware of my carbs because they don't usually satisfy me long term, and make me crave more, More, MORE!
SusieMartin- Way to kick some booty girl! Keep it up!
Saralee- good luck!!!!!
Knobhdy- sounds like you were having fun! That makes workouts so much easier! Keep it up! I really like the C25K too!

Eclipse 5 pounds is AWESOME!!!! You should be proud of yourself girl!!!! Don't forget to take a good multivitamin, too!

MsP- I am sending you some today! I am with you on the afternoon/evening cravings....what is that about????? Anyway have a great day!!!
Well I am gonna scoot, I need to get in gear and outta here! Love to all you great chicks!

Good morning everyone! I'm almost at my May goal! Yippee!

I weighed on Friday morning at HM and was 190.8 and then today was up 0.2 to 191, but should have no problem losing that 1lbs before Monday to meet goal. Am very excited about my trash the dress photo session this coming Sunday. I'll definately post pics when I get them.

Just a quick check in...everyone is doing so great!

Cheers,
Tamara

Still going strong on the lunch thing! Yay! I'm at 137.6 Today, which was a pleasant surprise, but I'm still not holding out to lose almost 4 pounds in a week. :P

I don't remember a specific amount of carbs being mentioned. My impression was that you would eat the normal amount that you always eat from morning to noon, and then not have more after that. So, you would not be trying to get as many carbs as possible before noon, like a Sunday feast before a Monday diet begins. Just eat like you normally would during those hours. How many carbs you would need for the day would still depend on how much is best for you; the amount that makes you feel your best. I hope that helps you some.

Good evening all, today i had a little woosh and I weighed in at 163.6 which puts me at 3.8lbs until goal for the month of May. I'm just praying that I'm going to see 159.8 (fingers crossed). Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Evenin' chicklets,

Hopeful8: I'm crossing my fingers for you too--I've got 3.4 to go, so let's see what kind of damage we can do this last week.

bama girl: I'm holding out hope to lose almost 4 pounds this last week, but I will be awfully surprised if it happens too! Good luck.

tamarj: great work! Congratulations. Looking forward to the pics!

Lewisempire: I avoided the getting-home-starving routine today with a hard-boiled egg. That is going to be my secret weapon for a while. I find them very satisfying, and since it's not a carb, it doesn't make me want to shovel bread into my mouth--that has been a particular problem this month! The protein sticks around for a while--and I'm not one of those people who is afraid of eggs and cholesterol--only farm-fresh, free-range, bug-eating chicken eggs for me! Anyway, my suggestion is to eat a bit of protein to avoid eating every last painful calorie when you're starving!

SusieMartin: rock on girl, you're doing great!

SaraLee: welcome and good luck!

MsP: I've read a bunch of the maintainers forum, and a number of people talk about going into maintenance and letting their bodies find their way down to their proper maintenance weight. So maybe it is time for that and your goal for June should be to maintain, because you aren't allowed to leave, even if this is called the Weight Loss Challenge!

I've been at 169.8 for three days, so I expect to see a drop soon, but I'm doubtful that I'll reach my goal of 166.4 to be 10 pounds down this month. I'll hope for the best and keep on plugging away.

Tomorrow and Thursday are my danger days. Wish me luck!

Check In Time
Yesterday was another 100% OP day

I got plenty of fresh air, exercise & way too much sun yesterday. I'll be back out in the sun again today but will definitely cover up.

When I get caught up on my farm work I want to start a regular walking program.

I used to walk regularly but stopped this past winter (bad weather) and haven't started back again.

Here's to a great day for one and alll!

Good morning all!

Hey, thanks everyone for your supportive comments...I'll address them specifically below, but it's so nice to know people care and want to help!

MiniChick-That's a good concept and back when I was a SouthBeacher I would've totally been on board. I'm actually a calorie counter now, though I've been doing a crappy job of it this month which is part of the reason I am having a harder time. When I do count cals, I'm good to go. So, for me it's not so much needed to change things up, but actually DO the stuff that works for me! I don't use any reduced carbs plan due to my running. They (carbs) are vital to healthy energy levels for me. It was a hard transition to convince myself carbs weren't the devil since I had been a former carb watcher.

lewisempire-Shoot! That will power dust must've missed me yesterday. I overate at lunch. I inexplicably decided to clean the leftovers out of the fridge into my mouth. Wasn't hungry...just kept eating. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb!!!!!! LOL It was nothing unhealthy...just too much. I got plenty of activity later in the day, but that overeating did me in on the scale. Today is a new day. I have my food planned and I am going to log it into fitday and actually COUNT my calories!

tamaraj-Well done getting so close to goal! I imagine you'll have no trouble with that last pound. Just keep doing what you're doing.

bama girl-That's so good that you've been bringing your lunch. You're doing well, so no worries if you don't hit the magical goal number...though you may get closer than you think!

Hopeful8- I've got my for you.

LouisaH-Yep, that's what I'm thinking. I'll shoot more for OP days than a specific scale number. I know if I'm OP, my weight will fall into place. That's been a HUGE "IF" lately, I'm so embarassed to say. I will shoot to stay under 134, so I can keep all my smilies in my signature though...for pride's sake. LOL Yum on the hard boiled eggs! They're a good snack for my rest days and 2 of my 3 kids won't mess with them!

susiemartin-Good job getting in another OP day. Farm work sounds exhausting! I hope you're able to get caught up and start a walking program, though I'm sure the chores are an EXCELLENT workout!

As I mentioned earlier, I messed up at lunch yesterday and overate because I was being dumb thinking I should eat leftovers so they wouldn't go bad AND eating my planned lunch...so, um, yeah. It wasn't an OP day. Today will be better. I will eat just what I have planned and drink my water, get my exercise and get to bed earlier. All things I have done poorly this month. There are still 6 days (including today) left in this month and I commit to finish the month tracking my food, doing all my planned exercise, downing water, and getting to bed by 10:30 p.m. (except the all night grad party I'm chaperoning, of course).
