Me too I have had my Wii Fit since May - we do love it although it did sit and collect dust for a few months during the summer and while I was busy elsewhere.

Started to get back to it - at the very least 3 days a week.

Jayjay and jenssong!

Of course you can join in.

The more the merrier.

I have been trying more and more of the strength training and my legs are getting sore. I still do some free stepping, advanced steps, boxing, and hoola hoops. I try to mix wii with treadmill and weight lifting.

Thanks to wii, it is fun to exercise!

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Welcome! I have to agree with Hattie22...it is fun to exercise. I have always hated exercising but I must admit I am actually beginning to enjoy it! I aim for 3 to 4 days (about 30 minutes a day) on the Wii Fit but exercise every day mixing it up with the elliptical, strength training and anything else that gets me moving! I have come to the realization that I like variety so even when I get on the Wii Fit I mix it up a little. One day I will do yoga and step aerobics and the next day I will do strength training and boxing (which I love)....of course I always finish off with some fun balance games. I wear a Bodybugg and burn just as many calories on the Wii Fit as I do walking or on the elliptical so it is definitely working for me...plus I have lost 15 pounds in the last nine weeks! It's been fun to watch my Mii shrink!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

A Bodybugg is a small device worn on the arm that monitors how many calories you burn per day. It also records the amount of physical activity you are doing and the amount of steps taken. It is used with software that enables you to keep track of your calories and weight/measurements. In a nutshell it keeps me aware of my calorie intake and my calorie burn rate....so as long as I am burning more calories than I am eating I should lose weight. I have been wearing it for nine weeks and have seen weight loss every week. I absolutely love it! I am sure there is probably more technical information available on the web but if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

I just wanted to check in with everyone
I was away for a few weeks visiting my parents and didn't do much in the exercise department, I missed my Wii so much I even tried getting my mom to buy one for herself, but it didn't work haha.
I got back on the wii to do a body test and i gained almost 5 lbs (I knew it was going to happen so I am not shocked), but my Mii did get a bit pudgier and I had to endure the whole it's been 29 days ....and think of the reasons for your weight gain ....blah!
Now I feel like I almost have to start back from scratch building up resistance and strength, but I am actually anxious to get those endorphins running. Today I have to finish unpacking and tomorrow I will get back on my Wii.
Fullofgrace: welcome back!
To all the new people: Welcome, hope to see you around a lot
To everyone else: Glad to see you again, I missed you

It was hard today, I think I'm still on holiday mode, and I struggled and fought over with myself over whether to get the Wii out and get moving.
I am proud to say, the responsible me won and I did 33 min. cardio and 10 min on the balance games just for fun.
It made me realize how much stiffer and uncoordinated my body has become by not exercising for a few weeks, so I am more determined to get limber(er) again.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US friends!

Thumbs up

Kudos to those who were able to stay on track this week!

I started out strong: one hour of Wii Fit (mostly boxing) every day Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, but then Tuesday night I got very ill and spent all day Wednesday in bed and Thursday was still sluggish and saving all of my energy for the big potluck dinner at a friend's home.

I have NO excuse for Friday... but laziness.

So, the PLAN is to get up in the morning (er, in a few hours, I guess) and hop back on, get an hour in like I did Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, to bring my WEEK to four days of Wii Fit, one hour each time. That, I believe, will still be a "success." (Oh, and we did go for a nice slow walk after Thanksgiving dinner Thursday.)

The plan is also to start up with three days of Jillian Michaels' 2009 Ultimatum on Sunday. I really had wanted to be 100% for the week with Wii Fit first, so I don't feel totally beaten up by Jillian on Sunday, but I really just need to suck it up and DO IT. I've had the program for a MONTH now and haven't even popped it in to SEE what her exercises are like.

(I know from a friend who also ordered it and who HAS tried it that it's very hard compared to the standard Wii Fit exercises, but there was a time I thought some of the Wii Fit exercises were challenging, so I know it's just a matter of DOING it and getting used to it and keeping at it.)

So, the plan is to keep exercise flowing for the rest of the year so I can reach my next mini-goal (being "overweight" instead of "obese," something Wii Fit says will be true in just 2.5 pounds, so that should be SOON) and then my next-next mini-goal (reaching the 180s, which of course I hope to do before the end of the year).

I'm so glad this thread is here and I can come back and get motivated just by seeing what y'all are posting about your experiences, challenges, and successes.

I have high hopes!! I really do!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hi All! I was checking out Google to see if anyone lost some weight on the Wii Fit. Lotsa people are doing experiments and are losing weight on the Wii Fit! I just bought mines 2 weeks ago and lost 4 pounds on it! I work out with my heart rate monitor so I can hit my targeted heart rate and really burn up a sweat. I have heard people losing weight from DDR2 and that is next on my Christmas list. I work out in with it the as soon as I get up, at 5:00am. 1 hour is strictly cardio. When I come home from work, it's cardio again and yoga and strength moves. The best thing about it is that I like how it tracks your bmi so you are totally accountable.

Good luck on everyones weight loss effort!

Hi, all! I've been a SLUG for a few months--letting my Wii Fit collect dust. I finally got on it last night (it reminded me it had been 77 days since my last visit) and did basic step, short run and 10 minutes free step. I had already done a WATP workout earlier in the evening, so that was pretty good.

This morning I did another WATP, but am planning on Wii Fit tonight. Hopefully, I'm back on track!

Hi everyone

Welcome Jillnicole03 and Michele L. I've just finished doing some step and balance games on the Wii. During step I put down my controller and used hand weights instead....I'm pooped! Definitely takes the workout up a notch! I got ranked "Champion" for the first time in Soccer Heading but am still have difficulties getting past level 8 in Advanced Table Tilt.
What's everybody else been up too?

Wii Fit rocks!!! I just bought my DDR2 bundle and it is way fun! Can't wait to combine that, Wii Fit and the treadmill. Oh yeah - has anyone tried that Jillian Michaels game?

Thoughts?
