I had to stop worrying about my hands and really concentrate on what would make the little bar on the balance board area (bottom right of the screen) score better. THEN once I figured out the board, I added back the hands and now I seem to have it all "down."
For me, it meant shifting my "run" to more of a shift of weight from heel to toe, while also changing my weight from one hip to the other. Hard to explain without the aid of the visual, but when I was just doing a speed walk sort of thing, it wouldn't register. Really going from heel to toe while swinging hips seemed to make the difference on how that "scored" on the little meter.
Hope that helps!

My arms hurt after the Jillian Michaels' Wii Fit workout sometimes! The monkey bars and grenade toss really seem to do it for me!
Everyone--I'm so encouraged by all of the time everyone is logging with their Wii Fit already this year! Awesome!
I, however, did not get on it today (er... yesterday) because instead we took a very long and uptempo walk and I felt like that would "count" enough. Hubby and I *both* plan to do an hour on Wii Fit tomorrow (Friday... so... later today).
I know, I know, I keep saying I'm going to come in here and post a good Wii Fit day and I keep not having done it. But I noticed the last time I took a break of two or three weeks, my workouts were BETTER and more efficient and more effective. Shook up my system, somehow, to change up the routine a bit.
But tomorrow is the day! There WILL be Wii!
Happy 2009 to all!
