Lumi - Sorry about the scale! We all know how that is. It looks like you are doing amazing though! Don't let this little bump slow you down!

enne - I hate the cold weather here but it really makes me appreciate summer. It is nice that everytime you get sick of the weather here there is a new and different season around the corner. It's just that the winter corner is a bit longer than the rest. It also makes going places a bit more fun. We are planning a trip to Florida for March or April and it really makes me look forward to it!

I am a bit frustrated today. I weighed myself this morning (I know I should only weight myself once a week but I have found - from past attemps to lose weight - that weighing myself more often helps keep me in line) and I am up 1.5 lbs. Maybe I have not been watching my calories as well as I should or something but it is just so frustrating!! It has taken me so long to get under 150 and now it seems to be creeping back up. I don't want to have to lose this weight again. I am mad at myself because I feel like I saw that 145 at the beginning of the week and unconciously slack and let myself slip a little. DH and I are planning on surprising our DD's with a trip to Disney I really want to be down at least 5 lbs. We are planning on going as soon as March 1 and as late as April 1. ( we are leaning more toward March 1) Anyway, today is a new day. I have stayed within my calories and NO CHEATING!!

Adaem: Where are you visiting in Florida. I live in the Panhandle by Pensacola. It is 61 degrees here today. It was raining earlier. I am so ready for spring. But I know I have no room for complaint when I am talking to someone from so far north.

As far as the scale, unless you were really bad and could have gained 1.5 pounds (which is very doubtful), I would say that you weigh 145. It happens to me all the time. I just ignore the ups (unless I know that I was horrible on with my eating), and embrace and not let go of the lower number on the scale. Otherwise, I would go crazy with the ups and downs of the scale.

We went to Disney twice last year, and we are going to try to go one more time before our Season pass expires. Probably in May sometime. I would love to be a lot smaller by then.

Have a great day!

Long time no see everyone! Wow there are sooo many extra people here that it's crazy to me! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. The new boyfriend has basically been living with me this week, so I haven't spent much time at the computer at all. It's fun though. He knows I'm trying to eat healthy, so he's trying to make me healthy foods. He's cooking chicken right now.. tasty.

On another note, I've gained like 4 pounds this week. I haven't worked out in 1 whole week, which is awful, BUT it's also TOM, so I figure that is where a bit of the weight gain has come from. He actually did turbo jam while I was at work today, and wants to work out together tomorrow. LOL.

Okay, time to go read the paper and grade some papers before dinner. I'll try to do better with posting!

adaem I doubt the weight is real!! M<aybe you ate more salty foods? I find whenever I eat cheese I go up a pound but the next day it is gone! I personally also weigh in daily but try to only focus on my friday morning results.

I'm still sick but feeling better. I'm going to try to get a workout and some crunches in b4 I hit the hay!

Mom2 - We will be going to Orlado and DinseyWorld. This is the first year that we have not gone in Jan. in 4 years. We usually go with my in-laws. They have a time-share. We didn't want to go with them this year because we have never had a family vacation before with just DH and kids. I am really looking forward to it. Today the temp. was in the mid 20's and sadly that feels warm compared to the last few weeks. I complain every year but I will probably never move. I have been here my whole life and I just don't think I could live anywhere else. This time of year I just get cabin fever really bad!!

Mom2 & 2B - Thanks for the pep talk on the 1.5 lbs. I did pretty good today with eating. Just under 1400 cal. I wanted to do better considering I didn't walk this morning. Anyway. I will do better tomorrow.

Good for you on not worrying about the 1.5!! I'm actually bloated this morning and feeling awful! Not sure why but the scale is also showing a gain but I know it isn't real. I'm not going to worry about it although tomorrow is my official weigh in so it better get lost! The water I mean.

I'm missing Lizzy, so I just PM'd her, hopefully, she will be back soon.

All these new names, I 'm having trouble keeping track

Anywho, a blip week for me, I have had to work really hard just to get rid of the Super Bowl crap I ate, so no downward progress, but moving back toward the 148 I started the month at. Just did a Biggest Loser workout (Sculpt w Jillian) that was on exercise TV, must get into shower and shovel my car out to go to work!

I weight myself again today.. Not a good sign, 149.7, But at least I know why.. I've been eating to much chocolatecookies. So from now, I will not eat any cookies until I reach 146.5... At least I am down 1.8 from this months start.

Hey Mmavis...that should be a good workout shoveling out your car.

I am holding steady so far this month at 134. Hoping its just the fluids i'm retaining in my sore calves and thighs. I don't have class tonight, so maybe tomorrows weigh in will be good to me. I sure hope so. Seems like i'm only losing at 2 pounds a month...I will never hit goal at that rate. Well....i mean eventually i would but i'd like to hit 120-125 by sometime in April. Oh well....all i can do is keep trucking along and trying every day to do good. And at least tone up what i got!!

KC: Missed you! Glad you are having a fun week!

2b2: I hope you are feeling better???

Adaem: Good Morning!!!!

Mavis: Sounds cold there??? Just think warm thoughts. Think Spring Trip!!!

Theresia: I love chocolate cookies. Can't keep them in the house. Can you get rid of them for a while? Out of sight, out of mind!

Lumi: Good morning! With just so little to go, it does get harder doesn't it? Hopefully you won't stay at a stall for too long. You pretty much started where I am now. How long did it take you to get down from 196 to 134?

Good morning everyone else. There are a few "faces" that I haven't seen in awhile. Sure are missing you!

Well, my scale is not being nice. I have been good, but I have been eating too much carbs for dinner. Not going over cals, but it seems that if I eat carbs for dinner, my weight stays the same (even goes up...but this doesn't concern me....I don't even count the increase). The past couple of days I ate Speghetti for dinner, instead of eating it for breakfast or even lunch. So until my weight goes down, I am going to just try to eat healthy protein and veggies for dinner. I still need to hit my exercise goal of doing 500 step-ups by Monday on top of my daily walks with the kids. I'll let ya know.

Mom23bc...i must admit...it took me 2 years to get where i am today...but...that's because i took 6 months off. The first year i started..i started january 2006. I worked out 3 days a week at the gym, walked 5 days a week on my lunch break for 6 months. then lost my gym membership, got too hot outside to walk on lunch and met my current boyfriend. I actually gained back 7 of the 33 pounds i had lost in 6 months time. So, in November 2006 he bought me a gym membership. I now had that last 33 pounds plus the 7 i had put back on to lose. But i must admit..the first 4 months i went to the gym, i was not really motivated. It wasn't until march of 2007 when i changed gyms (still the family y but at a different location) that i really feel in love with my excersize routine and got back on track. So from March until December i lost that 7 plus 26. And as you can see, i still have 4 pounds to go to make my first original goal. I think if i could have stuck with the program, it would have only taken a year. But then again, it really doesn't matter. Life went on, i was happy in a relationship and life and i am almost at my goal. (Oh...and i'm still happy in a relationship. lol.) But after viewing pics in my bathing suit last night....i think i really want to drop down to about 120 or so. So...i really need to drop this last 4 and hopefully move on down to what will be my final goal.

mothermavis: good for you on doing a workout and shovelling!! I usually consider the shovelling my workout

Theresia: 1.8 in a week is amazing! And you've been eating cookies? I wish I could get those results!

Lumi: you are doing amazing and are a real inspiration!! You'll get there!

mom2: I am feeling better almost 100%. I did my crunches today and after lunch I'm going to put everyone for a nap and then hopefully get a workout in!
I also try to get my carbs in early so I have the rest of the day to work them off otherwise they end up on the scale the next morning
What are stepups exactly? 500 sounds like alot whatever they are

Hey all --

Mavis, thanks for the PM!! I've tried to post on the board but I got a little intimidated by all the new folks so I wanted to take some time to read through the pages I've missed...unfortunately, I have not had that time, and therefore never posted. Talk about perfectionism -- can't post perfectly so I don't post at all. I can't tell you how that mind frame has held me back in so many areas!! But that can be left for my next therapy session...

As for weight, I've hidden my scale from myself until Monday morning, after having a horrible weekend of full on bingeing. As of Tues i was pulling out of that mode, and I've been counting my points regardless. I'm finding that points are a lot harder than calories, but that was why I switched over, right?? I wasn't losing by calorie counting, so I'm switching strategies...of course if it works better, it's going to be a little tougher

Adaem -- florida?? how exciting...ah, warm sunshine, and what a great motivator!!

Mom2 -- Hey!!! I'm happy to see you again. I'm so excited for this month, having switched strategies...hello 130s!! Breaking myself from daily weighing feels dangerous, since now I have my hopes up that on Monday, I'll have lost like 8 lbs. The suspense....

Lumi -- your weight loss efforts are inspirational!

Theresia -- chocolate cookies...yummm....

OK all, the receptionist is out today and apparantly I'm the only one picking up the slack. Love being an intern and working for free!!

I want a cigarette (it'll be one week smoke free tomorrow...)

--S
KC -- I haven't been to the gym in a week, either. Things just keep coming up -- like french fries to be eaten!! The most exercise I've gotten is from treading water in my lake of guilt...ooh so poetic. Anyway, I'm planning on going tonight as long as the weather holds! And congrats on the relationship -- it sounds really supportive. Are you comfortable working out with him?

Mavis -- thanks again for the "hello!" I know you'll get yourself back on track -- I've seen you do it before!! Do you have an official weigh-in day?

2B2BF -- Nice attitude about that 1.5!!

How's it going today everyone?!! So my TOM started last night, and wow..what a shock but I'm back down to 205. I haven't lost any weight this week, but I'm maintaining, so I'm not going to complain.

The new relationship is going very good. We are very supportive of each other. I'm not sure about how comfortable I will be working out with him, but I don't think I'll have a problem.

Sooner or later I'm going to go through and comment on all of the new peeps in here, but I haven't had the time lately.
