Been MIA for a couple of days and I've really fallen behind in the chatter! I'm not having the best week. Haven't completely fallen off the wagon or anything, but I"m getting sloppy on my calories and my exercise is half-@$$ at best. Not feeling too optimistic about WI tomorrow.
Welcome to our new people! All the recipies look yum. I'm going to have to check out that website.
Soooo I think my scale is lying to me. It told me I was at 189 this morning. I swear I got on it like 10 times to verify. If that is the case I'm down 4 pounds since the start of this challenge! Although... I'm off to newyork for a play this weekend as a special birthday/mothersday present. I've also been told if I try to "be a miser with calories" at dinner (supposedly they are taking me somewhere really nice) that they will beat me. :/ I'm scared i'm going to go up 5 pounds over the weekend. It's SO hard to calorie count and travel.
OhMyDogs You sure do live up to your name with the doggies! lol! I'm glad you're back OP and you know, sometimes you just have to step back from all the calories and obsessing and just go with your gut (no pun intended) and it sounds like your gut was good to you...
He is a pretty cute puppy. He is dog #3, but we did try out a Newf before, with the intention of keeping her, but it turned out she was WAY too big for our house, and too young to just lay around like a door mat (like our last Newf did). This little guy is lots of fun, and seems to be pretty bright. He's 8 weeks, and has started asking to go outside to go to the bathroom (not all the time, just for #2), apparently easier house training is a breed thing (he's a rough collie).

2x Great Value Whole Wheat Tortillas (Walmart Brand) = 190 calories
1x Black Diamond Fat Free Cheese Slice= 35 calories (I would have used regular or low fat brick cheese, but realized last minute that I was out)
33 grams romaine lettuce = 5 calories,
64 grams tomatoes = 13 calories,
111g chicken breast, chopped up =122 calories,
1 tbsp Frank's Buffalo Wing Sauce = 5 calories,
2 tbsp Calorie Wise Ranch dressing = 70 calories
In hind site, I would have used 1/2 the ranch (making it 405 calories), but then I happen to like mine spicy.
Well I got on the scale the morning before last, 270.8, and yesterday morning, 270.8, and this morning 269.8, so things are happening YAY! Now I can quit worrying about the scale for a few days, I just had to make sure it moved!
OhMyDogs- Totally going to make that, thanks for sharing! I have a wings place directly across the street = dangerous.
Fit4Lyfe- Thank you for those words! When I stepped on the scale this morning, weight was back to "normal" 211. Just another reason to unchain myself from the scale. I'm going to at least wait until the weekend for another weigh-in. And you are so great about that water-- following your example!
Had a NSV this morning of having my pants just fit better this morning. Don't know what it was, they just...fit...better. Which is a good little triumph given my little argument with the scale. I'm finding that's how it goes. When I seem to get frustrated with my number, something non-scale related gives me a boost. I'll take it.
Today is busy busy. Banana and almonds for breakfast. Eating lunch out, need to make a good choice. I'm really craving deviled eggs so I think I'm going to make a couple for dinner. I'll probably have some broccoli slaw and tomatoes with that. Staying on plan today. Drinking lots o' water today.
This was my supper, since we're sharing pics.... 2x Buffalo Chicken wraps, totalling 440 calories and totally hit the spot! I LOVE buffalo chicken, but hot wings have a stupid amount of calories (100 per wing!!!WOWZERS, there was a time when 12 wings would be a late night snack for me!!), so thought I'd see if I could come up with something to compare.
These look really good, I think I will make myself a buffalo chicken salad tonight.

Thanks for the idea!
Glad to help!
Actually I cooked up 3 servings of buffalo chicken pieces, and put 2 in the freezer (individually packaged). I am "frugal" by nature, and got some discount chicken breasts ($3.50 for 2 skinless breasts, bone in), so I kind of had to cook it all up at that same time. I did it all Buffalo style, and put 2 servings in the freezer for another day
Since my kids are picky, and my husband is not ready for a "health makeover" I tend to make 2 suppers every night. Mine and theirs. It's a lot of work, a lot of people think it's silly, but I find it easier to just make 2 meals than to try and make "MY" food contending with my older daughter's eccentricities regarding food. I feel like, if I don't make food an issue, then maybe food will never BE an issue for her. And, I get to eat what I want without taking into consideration other people's likes and dislikes So now I have 2 more meals worth of meat packaged up for another day!
I've been bouncing around between 219 and 221 this week. Back down to 219.4 this morning. Have been working out and within my calories so I have faith it'll come down eventually.
I think I'm back to SP from mfp. I like the calorie range and don't feel as much pressure to eat back all my exercise calories.

Go get it, ladies!
Hey no problem!!!! I am nothing if not the un-official challenge cheerleader, I believe we can all make out goals if we support eachother. And yes, WATER, I don't just drink it, I hoard it (lol) I love water, so it's not bad for me at all...and just because I love it so much, here is a smiley of swimming in water: Enjoy. LOL. You can do it girl and WTG on the NSV, those are the best victories to me.

I would like to start calorie counting and lose weight and get into the 140's by end of this month.
Good luck to all! I'll check in here to see how everyone's doing going forward.
Sorry to sneak in here kinda late.
to the challenge...is that a Blythe doll in your avatar? I love her!!!

So while i'd like to go completely without cheating, at least im making progress. Maybe i was expecting/trying for too much too quick for my body to handle. Maybe its all psychological. Either way, if i just erase from my mind that change will happen overnight and embrace a more realistic idea that this is a lifestyle change that i need to put work into, i think i'll be better off. I appreciate the advice and i'm just going to keep working at it. I've decided that rather than trying to force a schedule change that isnt realistic for me, i'm just going to work out at night for now because that's what works for me. I'd rather work out at night than not work out at all!! Thanks again and feel free to use FKM anytime, it'll be funny to see it in other threads if it catches on! haha
Hey, thanks!!! I used the phrase yesterday on the phone with the mom, and not the whole phrase, just the abbreviation: FKM...and she was like, "what?" and I was like, "oh, a fat kid moment" and then she said, "oh, you had plenty of those as a child" and I was all it was funny. Anyways, if working out at night fits you, then do it as long as you get that time in and realize that this is for life, after the weight loss comes the maintenance, that's what I keep telling myself. You can rock it girl, I know you can
As for me...magenta because I in black up there.I am holding a lot of lactic acid right now (muscle soreness and weight gain), I can feel my muscles being sore, especially my hamstrings and thigh area, so I am taking a break on those for the day and focusing solely on abs/upper body with light cardio. I have bootcamp again on Friday and I was going to power walk on Saturday, but I might just pack it in for the weekend, IDK yet, but I do know that you ladies are all rocking it and if I just have a 1-lb loss this week, that's cool, I'm learning to be happy when it moves the right direction at all and I am starting to get more focused on gaining some muscle as well, so I'm expecting some gain. Off to I'll TTYL ladies!!! WE CAN DO IT!!!!
I'll give an update later .. MEXICAN POT LUCK TODAY! =/ .. wish me LUCK!!!
PHAT...Good Luck with the temptation!
I'm gonna need some good luch and will power to get through today too! I live in San Antonio so there is tons to do on Cinco de Mayo... BF wants to go out tonight, so I'll have to make sure I keep my calories in check today so I can save space for a drink.
Did you know Cinco de Mayo is basically a holiday made up by Corona beer? It's not Mexico's Independence Day?

Funny huh?
Hmm I thought Cinco De Mayo commemeorated the day that the Mexican army overcame the French at the Battle of Puebla .. I did a presentation on it in High School .. reenactment, dancing, food, etc.. I had no idea Corona had anything to do with it.. I didnt know it was even considered an Independence day.. i just thought it is a victory celebration because of the Battle..
Ekicna- I'm going to Maui and Oahu. I've been to Oahu twice before but I want to branch out.
261 this AM!! I don't get it. My cals are 1000 or under, and whole foods! I think I may need to knock my carbs down again. I currently keep them around 80 but I might have to knock them back to 60. I'm trying to walk the fine line between low carb and ketosis. It's not easy.
Good job @Fruitlady! I wish it was that easy for me! I decided not to step on the scale this week after all... Don't need another reason to feel discouraged. When i feel like i'm really in the swing of things for a week then i will and hopefully be pleasantly surprised! I did, however, have someone that i work with tell me it looked like i had lost weight. I was like in shock because i have been feeling like i havent really been putting in the effort so it definately made me feel pumped!
Made a cheesecake for my boyfriend last night and was REALLY close to not eating it.. but i had 2 bites anyways, even after i went for the 100 calorie cookies to curb the craving. But i tricked him and made it with low fat cream cheese and greek yogurt and egg substitute so i guess it wasnt too bad!
Got a recipe off of the skinnytaste.com! I Love That Website! I made chicken cordon bleu yesterday. its amazing what just swapping out for a few better choiced items can do?! Made roasted carrots with it that had literally nothing but dill and parsly on them and they were awesome! So dinner rang in at about 400 calories and i felt so full! It was a great moment that i needed to keep me going. Definately going to continue to use that website from now on!
I am looking for some crockpot recipes. Going to start using that on a daily basis so that my boyfriend can eat when he's ready and i can go to the gym after work and bring the leftovers to eat while at work so that i'm not eating at 11pm everyday! So anything will be helpful. We do mostly eat chicken, pork, and ground turkey. And mostly carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. I have a turkey chili recipe already so if anyone else has any ideas or any other recipes that'd be great!
Having a pretty good, close to OP week and monday, let the Turbo Fire Begin! (i wouldve started it by its my sisters and she wont let me open it until monday haha). One slight disappointment: the friend i am training to run a 5k with is much more fit than me and is already running a mile in 15 minutes and i have barely started but that's alright, gives me the motivation to get stronger and kick her butt when we finally run the 5k!!! Have a good day ladies!

I live on Oahu and have visited Maui a few times, if we could choose an island to live on, it would be Maui. Good luck with your weight loss.
More personals to come later.
I'm down to 114.8 and I'm not sure if I will revise my goal or not. I really like the way I look but I have been losing weight only and not toning. I think I should devote the next few weeks to toning. I'm not sure, something to ponder I guess.
