Morning, peeps!

and good luck to all our new challengers!
I know this is a short challenge for us, but I figured the first real "cookout" holiday of summer sounded better than "flag day", lol! It will motivate me to stay on plan, so I can look as good as possible in short sleeves and shorts this year!
I'd love to say I could get out of the 170s this challenge, but the weight just isn't a reliable milestone for me these days, so I think I need some fitness goals to work toward, instead.
The unassisted pull-up that I'd hoped to get last time, well, I'm thinking that's out of reach, too. Pull-ups are harder than I thought they'd be! So, I will try to set some realistic goals that will still require a bucketload of hard work and commitment on my part:
1) Get 10 kipping pull-ups, all tied together, with the green assistance band (aka giant rubber band that takes some of my excess weight off the pull-up bar). Currently I can do 2 with the green band, and have to use the next size up, the black band, for most of my pull-ups, so this is a challenging goal, but doable, I think.
2) Get 10 "on my toes, chest to floor" push-ups. Hate push-ups. Right now my record is 6 in a row...chest to floor is what makes them so killer!
3) Work up to the 45 lb barbell for OHS (overhead squats), pain free. Right now, I can do the 30 lb barbell pain free, but 45 hurts my wrist, just the extreme angle, apparently, so I need to start using the 30 pounder in my warm-up, then add 5 lbs at a time to get my wrists used to the added weight.
I think that will do me. I have other fitness goals I'm working toward, but none I could say would be accomplished in the next six weeks.
