Small NSV right quick: I HATE cooking, I kind of loathe it, but today I was sitting at home starving and decided to whip something up and voila! A Quick Lunchtime Rotini that took me like 18 minutes from start to finish made entirely of left-overs and stuff I had in my kitchen that I forgot even existed, it was delicious and the best part? 325 calories a serving, I felt so good about it, I am having a Skinny Cow vanilla and caramel cone for lunch-time dessert...maybe, I need to put it in the calorie counter first. Here's a pic of the meal:
Ciao!!!
That looks yummy. I'm making asian glazed drumsticks for dinner. I can almost smell them!
Asian Glazed Drumsticks Servings: 4 • Serving Size: 2 drumsticks • Old Points: 5 pts • Points+: 5 pts
Calories: 213 • Fat: 4.7 g • Protein: 27.5 g • Carb: 12.7 g • Fiber: 0.4 g
8 medium chicken drumsticks, skin removed
olive oil spray (I used my Misto)
1 cup water
1 tbsp Sriracha hot sauce (more or less to taste)
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup soy sauce
4 tsp agave nectar (or sugar)
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp ginger, grated
2 tbsp chives or scallions, chopped
1 tbsp sesame seeds
In a heavy large saucepan, brown chicken on high for 3-4 minutes with a little spray oil. Add water, balsamic, soy sauce, agave, garlic, ginger, hot sauce and cook on high until liquid comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered for about 20 minutes. Remove cover and bring heat to high, allowing sauce to reduce down, about 8-10 minutes, until it becomes a thick glaze, turning chicken occasionally. (Keep an eye on glaze, you don't want it to burn when it start becoming thick) Transfer chicken to a platter and pour glaze on top. Top with chives and sesame seeds and serve
DTerminedOne1219 Girl it is okay , we ALL feel that way sometimes, it's only failure if you don't keep at it!!! If you need a breather, take it! The calorie counting will be here when you get back and when you have another "fat kid" moment, try to envision your goals...or do what I have started doing, carrying pictures of celebrities I want to look like in my phone and whipping it out whenever a FKM (which is my new favorite thing to say...so thank you! lol) comes around so I can see what my goals are right there in front of me! HTH and keep on keepin' on!
Haha i'm glad you like the phrase. I use it quite often actually lol. And while i've still had some issues staying OP, i did realize that i'm still doing way better than when i wasnt counting at all. So while i'd like to go completely without cheating, at least im making progress. Maybe i was expecting/trying for too much too quick for my body to handle. Maybe its all psychological. Either way, if i just erase from my mind that change will happen overnight and embrace a more realistic idea that this is a lifestyle change that i need to put work into, i think i'll be better off. I appreciate the advice and i'm just going to keep working at it. I've decided that rather than trying to force a schedule change that isnt realistic for me, i'm just going to work out at night for now because that's what works for me. I'd rather work out at night than not work out at all!! Thanks again and feel free to use FKM anytime, it'll be funny to see it in other threads if it catches on! haha

Holding steady at 260. I'm hoping to see some movement soon. I know something is happening because my face is broken out again...worse than ever before. Does this happen to anyone else? I heard that hormones and toxins are stored in fat cells and when the fat burns, these pollutants are released back into the bloodstream.
My third day of reduced calories, lost 4 lbs so far. 20min of exercise, would have been more, but the weather is too crappy to walk. I want to start jogging again!
Sox game? Oh my gosh, it's freezing up here today!!! I don't envy you at all!! Lol. I have a Sox hoodie I purchased specifically because I was at US Cellular and was freezing my butt off. Have fun!
Oh, I've definitely dropped some $$$ on cold-weather Sox gear. Too often, I head over to the gift shop to buy over-priced hats. Ay yi yi. Last night, I was bundled up, too bad the Sox let me down!
Good news and blah news for my goal. My good news: Managed to stay on plan yesterday (beer and hot dog and all). Today has been OP as well. Food: a little homemade breakfast sandwich, broccoli slaw, coffee, Greek yogurt, half a banana, OJ, coffee, TJ's cheese enchiladas (hello, sodium), coffee. And coffee.
My bad news: I weighed in this morning and am up a pound! 212! Which leaves me where I was at the beginning of this challenge. I'm not going to stress-- I just need to get back to my walking this week and Stay. On. Plan. Also, I need to make sure I'm getting enough water (always a challenge for me). I'm following your lead, ladies-- everyone's doing a great job at keeping their eye on the prize! I will do the same.
This was my supper, since we're sharing pics.... 2x Buffalo Chicken wraps, totalling 440 calories and totally hit the spot! I LOVE buffalo chicken, but hot wings have a stupid amount of calories (100 per wing!!!WOWZERS, there was a time when 12 wings would be a late night snack for me!!), so thought I'd see if I could come up with something to compare.

I believe this soooo much, your skin is your biggest "organ" and when you detox or make a change, it shows on your skin. So yea, I think something is happening, but I'm sorry you're breaking out!!! I'm a long-time acne sufferer and I am just now getting it somewhat under control, but I still have some gnarly bacne (lol, tmi) so I am working on that now.

Oh and you might have some water weight, stadium hot dogs are crazy with the sodium, get that water in the next few days and I betya it'll fall off

Looks sooooo good, I'm not a fan of buffalo but those look amazing, please share the recipe!!!
Well ladies, I'm in for the night, I finished at about 1,400 calories and I'm getting in my final 4 servings of water tonight. IDK what it is, but I've been feeling fuller on less lately, I hope that's my body responding to the shrinking calories in a good way, because there is no better feeling than being full and knowing that I stayed within my range and I ate healthy...so great!!! Night!!!
Hey everyone! I just found this thread for the first time. I did calorie counting in March, and it seemed to keep me at a reasonable pace of weight loss, then April happened, and I just went out of control. I'm up a little bit in weight since March, so now I'm basically at about my starting weight since Janurary this year. I would like to start calorie counting and lose weight and get into the 140's by end of this month.
Good luck to all! I'll check in here to see how everyone's doing going forward.
