  • Afternoon ladies,

Day 4 on Alli. I've lost 2 lbs, but I don't know if it's from the help of Alli or me following the low fat and sticking to my calories...either way i'm happy. No side effects, and i've been keeping to 12g of fat per meal and 1200-1400 calories per day. Monday is my first weighin so we will see.

Thanks PHAT for the fell better wishes. Im home sick again today, I woke up and my throat was swollen and in alot of pain, and there is icky stuff coming out so I didn't want to infect the office. Tomorrow regardless of how I feel i'll be at work because I want to get my work caught up.

The meals you ladies are making look really yummy! I used to think pasta was my enemy due to calories and carbs, but now looking at it from a fat stand point...its my friend! in moderation and lots of fiber i'm all good

    Nice job Fruitlady!
DTerminded: way to make a healthy dessert! I make a pie for my bf every month we are together and I'm working on substitutes so it can be healthier without losing flavor.

I'm gonna go rest now ladies, i'll check back on here later.
  • Quote: Hmm I thought Cinco De Mayo commemeorated the day that the Mexican army overcame the French at the Battle of Puebla .. I did a presentation on it in High School .. reenactment, dancing, food, etc.. I had no idea Corona had anything to do with it.. I didnt know it was even considered an Independence day.. i just thought it is a victory celebration because of the Battle..
Yep, the win of a battle at Puebla, that was thought to be basically inconsequential in the scope of the war.

Many, many people still think it's Independence day. It used to be primarily celebrated in Puebla only.

It's a fun day here though!
  • Hey all!

I'm a newbie that pledged to keep up with the challenge but kind of fell off. But i'm back and ready to carry on!

My biggest struggle is i work in event marketing so my work hours are never the same, which makes my meals at weird times and not consistent.
I've been walking more downtown (from chicago!), and taking advantage of the non-rainy days.

I want to make my goal of 209.9!
  • Welcome back!
  • I did well today! Did my couch to 5k workout and am in my target range for calories (today was 1639). I am over on sodium but it is because I had tomato soup (and other things but that was the most concentrated sodium source) so I drank a little extra water to make up for it. I have the hardest time with sodium!
Tomorrow I'm working 12 hours (and I go to work at 5 am) so I will pack meals and snacks tonight so I have no excuse to go down to the cafeteria and get crap to eat.
I am almost ready to get rid of my weight watchers safety net. I have to believe that I will stick with calorie counting and see it through to the end.
  • Okay, so I have to change my goals. I'm shooting for a 5 pound loss by Memorial Day. The weight is just not coming off like it was. In fact, I can't seem to make the scale move at all. I'm breastfeeding and really sleep deprived since the Europe trip (baby keeps waking in the middle of the night to feed every 3 hrs, possibly he's still on European time). I'm normally more active in the day, but just keeping up with my 2 year old is about all I can handle right now. I'm just trying to get through the days!!!

BTW my kitty is doing better now. He survived the blockage he had. He is now taking two different meds and eating a new diet and is slowly on the mend. We are hoping for a full recovery. Time will tell.

I'm having a really hard time with sodium too and I don't eat much processed food. It's shocking the amount of sodium that some things have.

BF made tacos tonight and I found a low sodium taco seasoning for me. YAY! Had a taco salad and it was delicious.
  • djbutterfly- Welcome back! I'm in Chicago, too and love to walk downtown. I love the Chicago grid, in general, for walking.

Finished OP today. 1600 exactly, in fact. Must stay focused tomorrow and Saturday. I'm not going to kid myself about Sunday-- that will surely be off plan. Managed to get in a LOT of walking today, but with my slacking earlier in the week, I'm still not close to my weekly goal. I'm going to try to correct that tomorrow. Also, drinking lots of water.

Hope you all had a good day, looking forward to staying focused tomorrow!

I live on Oahu and have visited Maui a few times, if we could choose an island to live on, it would be Maui. Good luck with your weight loss.

    More personals to come later.
I'm so jealous!! My first trip to Oahu was in 2007 and I've been obsessed with going back ever since. I was there again in August and now I'm planning to go back for my birthday in December. My long term plan is to move there...even if I have to wait till retirement!!

261 AGAIN this morning! This is getting ridiculous.....
  • Morning Chickadees.

Yesterday was OP. This seems to be getting a little easier the longer I go. However, it was a test of my wills to go to the grocery store with bf last night..... I kept turning around and finding junk in the cart! But, I can't force him on a diet, he's 6' and 160. Arrggghhhhh

Almond Milk..... so I bought some last night (sugar free) 40 calories, 2 carbs, no sugar. Anyone else using it? Have any downsides?
  • Day 5 on Alli and I'm 143.8! wahoooo I can't wait to be in the 130's again.

still sick, but drinking theraflu every 4 hours as directed and using afrin for my nose.

my official weighin is Monday so I will work very hard this weekend to not eat out and keep within my fat and calories. I even noticed a difference with how my jeans fit this morning. The hard part is sticking to it. If I stop taking Alli and go back to eating how I used to I will definitly gain the weight back if not more, so I HAVE to stick to this!

Peggypie: it's ok keep it up, just take it one day at a time

scout83: way to stay OP, and good luck Sunday!

Spooky & Melissakd: I'm the same with you guys, I take in too much sodium even if i eat non processed foods, I still do.

kifli: I think that's a great goal, eitherway you are still making a positive life change

I will check back on here in a little while. Hope you ladies have a wonderful day
  • Melissakd: My bf is 6' 180, i get it, and he can eat like crap and still lose, he's losing weight now. And to answer your question about Almond milk....
I use Almond Breeze, Unsweetened Vanilla and it's delish! I love it! No issues, tastes great in my coffee and cereal. I highly recommend it.
  • Huh. I was pleasantly surprised to see 177.9 today, down 1.1 since last week. I haven't done all that great lately (not terrible, but definitely not great), so I'm really quite happy about this week's loss. 3.9 lbs to go!

I apologize for not having been very good about doing personals lately. We're going to be leaving for our first camping trip of the year (yay!) this afternoon, so I'll be offline again until at least Sunday. I will catch up with you wonderful ladies sooner than later, though!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

That is the kind I bought. I'm going to use it to make a smoothie for lunch I think.

Just noticed your location... that is where BF is from. Bay City.

(oh yeah, and the jerk is losing weight right now too because he eats what I cook for dinner! )

I love seeing your post with the big weight loss it makes it feel attainable for me, so don't be away long.
