Happy Mother's Day to any and all mom's here!
My family is making me a BBQ'd steak supper, with baked potato tonight. This is pretty much the first time I know I am going to go over calories, and am tracking anymore. I am going to try and keep the rest of the day light, and maybe there will be a miracle, and I won't actually go over, but I am expecting to surpass my 1600-1800 calorie limit tonight. Usually, if I know I am going over, I just "go for broke" and don't bother counting it, so I guess this is a step in the right direction.
I am having Ribeye steak, and I have already trimmed the excess fat (there was a good inch of it around the edges), which knocked off 130 grams...so my steak size is 160 grams now. I've picked out my potato, and weighed it as well, and to the best of my knowledge, there's no dessert. Now it's just a matter of finding an accurate calorie count for ribeye steak, fat trimmed. It's amazing the differences I have seen...my 160 gram steak apparently has anywhere from 211-541 calories!!! I've weighed it raw, and I will weigh it cooked, and look for the most consistent calorie count I guess (from several sites). And don't worry, I won't forget about the BBQ sauce in my calorie count
On a side note, I found a bike at a garage sale yesterday for $20. It works fine, but the seat needs raising and it could use a basic tune up, but as someone who used to ride a LOT I think, with a refresher (well, it HAS been 20 years), I could do most of it myself. It could also use a paint job, but that will come in time. For now I am just super excited that I can go out for a ride!!
