  • We went out last night -- to 3 different bars. I managed to stay under my calorie allotment but I'm up about a lb this morning. Probably sodium/alcohol related. I love that there are 'skinny' margaritas all over the place now.
Last night I had 4 of them!
Today is a new day. Having coffee/breakfast and will be going to zumba in an hour or so.
I think today is the day I am going to cancel WW. I feel good about it.
  • Popping in before brunch to say: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! and that I weighed in at 236.2, so I'm happy. That's like what, one pound lost this week? IDK why it'smoving so slow, but I have the feelings the 230's are going to be a pain for me! lol. Have a great day ladies!!!
  • Good job, Fit4Lyfe! Just keep on doing the right things and the scale will catch up. Have a great day!
  • Happy Mothers Day to all You beautiful Mothers out there! .. Wow I havent updated in forever.. Ill do that later today! Have a wonderful day, chicas!
  • Happy Mother's Day to any and all mom's here!

My family is making me a BBQ'd steak supper, with baked potato tonight. This is pretty much the first time I know I am going to go over calories, and am tracking anymore. I am going to try and keep the rest of the day light, and maybe there will be a miracle, and I won't actually go over, but I am expecting to surpass my 1600-1800 calorie limit tonight. Usually, if I know I am going over, I just "go for broke" and don't bother counting it, so I guess this is a step in the right direction.

I am having Ribeye steak, and I have already trimmed the excess fat (there was a good inch of it around the edges), which knocked off 130 grams...so my steak size is 160 grams now. I've picked out my potato, and weighed it as well, and to the best of my knowledge, there's no dessert. Now it's just a matter of finding an accurate calorie count for ribeye steak, fat trimmed. It's amazing the differences I have seen...my 160 gram steak apparently has anywhere from 211-541 calories!!! I've weighed it raw, and I will weigh it cooked, and look for the most consistent calorie count I guess (from several sites). And don't worry, I won't forget about the BBQ sauce in my calorie count

On a side note, I found a bike at a garage sale yesterday for $20. It works fine, but the seat needs raising and it could use a basic tune up, but as someone who used to ride a LOT I think, with a refresher (well, it HAS been 20 years), I could do most of it myself. It could also use a paint job, but that will come in time. For now I am just super excited that I can go out for a ride!!
  • I weighed in at 258 yesterday, but this morning Mother's day brunch featured Coffee cake. Ugh. Luckily the entree was a weight watchers egg dish my sister made so it's not too bad. I'll just be very careful for the rest of the day. Happy Mother's Day, All!

Dinner sounds delicious, and yay! for a new bike.

Happy Mother's Day! My kids and I will be spending the day with movies and homework.
  • Quick check-in to keep myself on track-- Shockingly, have not gone over my calories today (despite two drinks)! I still have a few hundred calories for dinner, but I'm sooo tired (thanks to those two drinks, I'm sure). Not sure what I'll have but thought it was a good idea to pop in here to remind myself to eat something healthy. I'm sure I'll thank myself tomorrow.

Glad I won't be going over today as next weekend will be absolutely crazy for me, and I can pretty much guarantee I'll be exceeding my calories. Then I'll go from that crazy weekend into two weeks of non-stop work-- thinking today about strategies for those couple weeks so I see a loss even in the midst of what is sure to be craziness. I definitely think it's time to update my "emergency snack kit", for one. I also maybe need to make a short list of healthy options along w/specific calorie info in the areas surrounding my work.

    Happy Mother's Day to all!
  • I haven't made the best choices this weekend. I've been under my calorie target but yesterday was mexican food and margaritas and today is pizza and ice cream. I did have fruit and veggies earlier and I've burned 1400+ calories this weekend in exercise so hopefully that balances out the weekend indulgences.
I am back to work super early tomorrow so I will be going to bed early (packing my food tonight so I can just grab and go in the morning -- the less I have to think about at 4 am the better).

Hope you all had a great weekend and a great Mother's Day!
  • Scout - You work in River North, right? Of course there are several Subways (Marina towers is the one closest to my work.) There is freshii across the street on Clark from the Thompson Center. There is a Salad only joint on Lake directly North of Wells. And, lastly (the best for last) there is Goodwin's on Franklin just South of Lake. Goodwin's in AWESOME. It's very healthy (if you skip the sour cream and lighten the guacamole on some of their wraps and sandwiches) and there are like 50 menu choices.

I've managed 10 straight days of P90X, so my working out is going very well. Friday night was poor as far as calories go. I only had one martini and ordered the mushroom panini. But, my boyfriend ordered the Italian and we ended up doing 1/2 of each. They came with chips - which of course I ate. AND we ordered bacon popcorn. ****. I tracked and got just around 1650 calories, but it was ALL guessing. It could have been as high as 2000, honestly. Ick.

But, yesterday was a solid 1300 and today is just below 900 so far. So, I'm doing well. And, the work week is always easier. I have a Seafood 101 cooking class on Tuesday. You eat what you cook, but how bad could seafood be? I guess we'll see yeah?

Anyway, all in all, mostly on track. And, at least I'm counting everything.

    Happy Mother's Day all.
  • Not looking forward to weigh-in tomorrow. Calories were over my norm but not crazy (1200 today) but my carbs were sky-high for me at 133. Oh well...Mother's Day brunch is only once a year.
  • I would love to join!

    GOALS
    1)Lose 12 lbs.
    2)STAY motivated
    3)Run every day
  • Welcome taramade!

Tonight, I am snacking on home made almond milk ice cream with peanut butter chocolate chips. Plain ice cream is 150 calories per cup. With 3 tablespoons of chocolate chips the total is 375 calories. I'm still under my calories for the day and I did strength training today.
  • All right.... I have been MIA for I think a week or so. I been trying to keep up... I was 169 today so that is good but I need to get even more on track.. But does put me at 46 pounds lost... The whole smoking thing went well for a minute but ya starting to quit again today... TOM is not helping with any of my goals...lol I will read the last pages later today..... Hope all is well for you all,
Northern good luck with your wiegh in today ;-).
  • official weighin this week is 143.6. That's a 4 lb loss. I'm not gonna complain about that. I should have lost more, with all the walking around I did yesterday but, i'm 4 days before TOM so that maybe it, dunno. Tonight is softball, and I'm still OP for calories and Fat. I keep telling myself to work on one day at a time.

Yesterday my mom wanted to do Mother's Day next week, I think she wanted the day to grocery shop and do things around the house and be left alone. So my sister and I got together for lunch and went shopping for my apartment! I bought a new comfortable set..20peice set and the bf and I love it! I got new towels for the bathroom and some candles and decorations, and new kitchen towels. One thing at a time I will decorate the place.

I will be back on later to check in. Have a great day ladies!
